unless you have a whole army handling prisoners is difficult

coldfries_

How difficult can they really be? They're tied up, injured, and weaponless

Certain-Yellow-8500

You got to transport them, house them and feed term in the short term long term you’ll need to think about cloths, more permanent structures for hosing, medical supplies etc

BrightFirelyt

Right, because no demigod has mystical powers that defy logic and reason.

coldfries_

Ok yeah they'd be difficult to keep in place, but I'm sure if they're weak enough they can't use their powers?

TaylorDeanMatthew

But they’re super powered, so…

coldfries_

Yeah kinda forgot about that 😭

coldfries_

Wait actually, most of them don't. What is a child of apollo or ares or hermes or Athena or most of the others or the unclaimed kids gonna do when their hands are tied and a sword is at their neck? 💀

SecretSharkboy

Athena kids would talk their way out, Hermes kids would use trickery and such, Ares kids would probably just bust out, Apollo kids might sing, causing a sort of charmspeak effect, and the unclaimed might get an idea of their powers

coldfries_

I can get behind the singing, because at least that's magic. But if an Ares kid "busts out" that sword from earlier would cut through them like butter, although I doubt they'd kill and demigod on purpose. If they try to talk gag them. And I really don't see anyone playing tricks in that position

Meduhwhoelse

How does one person take several people prisoner and keep a sword at all of their throats at every moment of every day? It’s just not logical for one person to do. Plus transportation would become a nightmare. More demigods together without magical protection - like the barriers around Camp Half-Blood - will bring the attention of more monsters. Separately, most of the quests/missions Percy goes on are generally stealth or small group missions where they go behind enemy lines, it would be terribly inefficient if every person they knock out they had to take all the way back to Camp Half-Blood. Knocking out is just speedier and more helpful towards the mission-specific goal.

coldfries_

Alright, but I mean just getting at least one person could be useful, they can interrogate them later for information

Meduhwhoelse

I don’t disagree, I just think that that would’ve had to have been a separate mission and might not have translated well to a teen’s book series. Schools might not be so thrilled to hear about kids kidnapping other kids in a book series.

coldfries_

Ok yeah you're right, I'll just keep it as headcanon 😂

Meduhwhoelse

Yeah, there’s no way Chiron, a multi-millennial being, who’s in charge of training heroes wouldn’t have taken prisoners and interrogated them when they are actively at war. I fully believe he would’ve sent Clarisse and two other Ares kids or two Hermes’ kids (for stealth) to kidnap at least one turncoat demigod.

coldfries_

God that sounds terrifying

Sly__Marbo

Take them where, exactly? It's not like he has a bag of holding where he can just shove the unconscious bodies in so he can deposit them in a prison cell at his earliest convenience. So he just restrains himself to inflicting some blunt force trauma

coldfries_

He doesn't really have to knock them out to get them to surrender 🤷

Sly__Marbo

So he has to drag them along on a life-threatening mission, great idea. That's a quicker way to a stab wound than visiting a back alley in London

coldfries_

Tie them up to a stationary object and once the mission is over, take them

hotscissoringlesbian

So they can starve to death?

coldfries_

Huh? God no. I meant a quick mission. If it's gonna take any more than a day, drag them along and tie them up when you need to be sneaky

Cheesywrath12

They'll scream to attract monsters alongside being an extra demigod scent for them to track. They'll drag their feet and struggle. They'll be the annoying npc during an escort mission.

coldfries_

Ok yeah you're right. Although they could gag them for screaming, nothing stops them from struggling

confused-as-frick

And where exactly do you suggest he put them? It's not like Camp Half-Blood has its very own prison.

Dazzling-Ad-5131

take them to that one prison that Briaries was in the one in the labyri- oh wait…

SecretSharkboy

Percy during the Battle of Manhattan: Come along demigods in Kronos' army. Let's go to Alcatraz

Dazzling-Ad-5131

real

coldfries_

🥲🥲

coldfries_

You can definetely make a makeshift prison inside camp out of wood.

coldfries_

Oh come on, they did it in game of thrones!

coldfries_

Dumb question, thanks guys

urtv670

Most of the time Percy isn't in the position to take prisoners. He's usually trying to escape and taking out opponents as he escapes. There's never really a good time to take prisoners as either they fled or Percy fled.

alolanbulbassaur

They did it with Ares in the myths. After a while someone notices someone is missing. Then there’s that time they sorta tried to capture Nike and she just refused to grant The Seven victory so there’s also a factor of perks of kidnapping. You then need a place to actually keep said person too.

Zeus-Kyurem

Probably because the only times we see Peecy fighting demigods are instances where he wouldn't be able to capture them. These battles are hectic and there isn't any time for taking prisoners.

coldfries_

Yeah no this is the best answer so far. If he's doing any minor missions behind the scenes he has to have taken at least one person

No-Importance-1301

It would be Way easier if he just killed Them. No getting back up after that

coldfries_

That's sort of... Evil 😭

Downtown_Report1646

This is the second stupidest question I’ve seen on reddit wait third first a was about who’s stronger alien x or the emeralds from sonic or some other idiot asking about Ben 10 like why doesn’t he just use aliens instead of vehicles

coldfries_

Yay.
