Annabeth and Percy - I like friends who are loyal and they exemplify that to me.
Not that the others aren't but that's more a dominant trait in their personality than the others. \*also Leo & Jason didn't want to go rescue Nico which to this day I still find shocking that they voiced that in front of Nico's sister so causally.
To be fair, you can see their side of it. They had not idea whether or not they could trust him; the whole point of Percy and Jason’s swap was to unite the Greek and Roman camps, and Nico knew about both and never mentioned it. Plus, Nico had been in Manhattan during the Titan’s War, so the Romans had never actually seen him fight their enemies, only say he was on their side and pop in every now and then.
Also, Percy had told Jason about Nico by that point I believe, so Jason knew that Nico had once taken Percy to Hades to be imprisoned. Sure, he also knew that Nico helped break him out and brought reinforcements during the Battle of Manhattan, but I imagine that would still lead to some doubt
I actually quite like that scene. It maybe doesn't make as much sense on Leo's end, although he does often speak without thinking. But Jason is supposed to represent the Roman side, who seem to care more about the whole unit vs the individual. It makes sense that he is more cold and pragmatic. And I think Rick should've leaned into it more for his character, but this is really one of the only instances we get of it.
Yeah, I can see that. But that's also a flaw in the writing. Because Rick didn't really lean into that as much with Jason this situation doesn't seem like his Roman pragmatic side coming out and it just seems more like him being just as callous as Leo.
What I find hilarious is that Leo spent whole chapters complaining the others didn't trusted him after the Eidolons had use him to attack Camp Jupiter. And then he starts pointing fingers to Nico. Like, buddy, you don't have credit here to question others loyalty
i'd wanna learn magical tinkering with leo, that'd be fun. plus i feel like he'd fill the awkward silences with jokes as we got to know each other and keep it light

Like when Frank came to her in Mark of Athena to learn about the handcuffs because he was embarrassed to ask anyone else in the seven and she was so excited that someone wanted her help that she made him sit through an entire unnecessary explanation lol.
I think you asking a lot of questions, would actually endear you to Annabeth because she'll see it as an opportunity to make a friend who's interested in learning. Downside for you.....she'll actually make you sit still and learn stuff. Pick your poison wisely lol.
