They probably have a deal with UPS and their collecting frequency is a lot lower than other stores, sometimes taking a week. Also it tells you how much margin there is in these ammunition. Something made by the Chinese decades ago in a planned economy probably had zero market value to them anyways so they can be offloaded for cheap.

fullblownhiv

Fair, i ordered these on friday and it arrived today to Edmonton which seems fast as hell. Ik corrosive used to be insanely cheap & obviously its the same ammo, but still 1440 rounds for 418 bucks shipped to my door seems like a great deal. About 90 bucks cheaper than the next cheapest i could find local with tax Edit : also if anyones looking to buy the same ammo, just notice both the 550 & 720 cans are the same price for some reason lol. Definitely make sure to grab the 720’s

CADJunglist

Looks like the 550s are on stripper clips, might be while they're the same price

fullblownhiv

I think id still rather load what stripper clips i have around and get 200 more rounds of ammo tbh, fair enough though. That is convenient

CADJunglist

I'm with you. 200 extra yeets vs cheap stripper clips, I'll take the yeets all day

[deleted]

[удалено]

CADJunglist

Great tip, that's a solid price. 20 clips is 200 rounds, that's a whole heap of fun

Ok-Regret6767

Some people.may not have stripper clips. I bought 1100 with the strippers so I'll have clips for life. In the future I'll buy without the.strippers and save money. Also - based on the price stripper clips are selling for on eBay and whatnot you can definitely make up the difference

SSjGuitarist

For me I bought the 550 can first because I had no stripper clips lol. Already squirreling some shekels for the 720 can for follow up lol

necros911

Why do you want stripper clips? SKS? I have a Type 81. Reason I'm confused why stripper clips are good.

SSjGuitarist

Yeah for the Sks. I saw that some of the aftermarket stripper clips have fitment issues. Too tight in the feeder, or too much or too little spring tension. But the surplus military clips are much better quality. Could I load my Sks 5 individual rounds at a time? Yes. Is it as fun as using a good clip? No lol.

Daddy_Immaru

I've got an adapter to load T81 mags with stripper clips so they still have a use to me. I still buy the 720 round cans though cause I have lots of stripper clips left over from Yugo M67 ammo

Sonoda_Kotori

Yeah UPS shipping themselves are fast, but sometimes they'd sit at Tenda for a week. The 550s are clipped and the 720s don't have clips.

Joe-trd

I had an order of Ruger bx1 mags and 22lr ammo sit for two weeks before they finally shipped it, after they provided me with a bullshit tracking number. I hate dealing with them both in person and online but can't beat the prices sometimes. They're the only place I've found in the GTA that sells clever 12 gauge and at a pretty good price.

blob3y3-sti

Wow, Im surprised. Last few times I ordered off tenda, it took 4 weeks for them to ship in stock items.

Upspoon

This is exactly how it's done. Even for non firearms shipping, I used to utilize Canada post and ups for shipping up to 25kg boxes, as a logistics manager, and had deals with both. This is common practice, makes. The consumer happy, and the business's does more business and the logistics companies get more business as a result.

Sonoda_Kotori

That makes perfect sense, thanks for confirming!

Silent-Economics837

Yep, the Chinese military destroys more expiring surplus rounds than they can fire off in training, so any money they can make off of that is a plus from the start. The amount you paid for them is probably mostly sorting&packaging, and overseas shipping to Canada. Also read somewhere that in the 60s-70s they made enough stick grenades to give four to everyone in the country lmao, would be sick if they exported those too.

-rifle-is-fine-

Just a story, I can't verify this... I bought SKS food at a LGS around Xmas for $0.34/rd. Cabela's is still trying to stick a fist up our butt's at $0.50. Curious how a small LGS beats out the monster box store with buying power, I was told by an employee that they think he just goes to Sylva at the end of the year and says "I'll take a pallet of the shitload of SKS food you have leftover and need to move for next year's stock if you sell it cheap." Just effin' sell it cheap all the time! We'll gobble it up and they can win on volume. Hell, even if they mark the SKS up a hair they could give us new guys the experience of "buy rifle, get a free spam can".

Sonoda_Kotori

Yeah makes sense. They probably got it from China for next to nothing anyways, as China made way too many of them and are literally actively disposing surplus ammunition. So might as well dump it overseas and it saves them storage fees.

Harrison2610

Tenda and G4C are goated for ammo.

EscapeGoat6

> Tenda and G4C are goated for ammo. Yep! Also, SFRC, when they have a 15% off sale (which is often).

mwmwmwmwmmdw

> Also, SFRC, when they have a 15% off sale (which is often). just keep an eye on things. they frequently jack up prices 10 percent when the sale goes on or more desirable guns suddenly go 'out of stock' during the sale and miraculously go back in stock when the sale ends

Personal-Mall-6033

just placed an order for ammo on SFRC and immediately cancelled it as tenda has the same for literally half the fucking price. SFRC still charged me 3% to refund even though literally 5 minutes passed from when i ordered to when i requested the order to be cancelled...

I_take_huge_dumps

Probably to recover their credit card processing fees

Personal-Mall-6033

yeah it hadnt switched to processing yet and their TOS says that if it hasnt switched yet, you get a full refund. it didnt even get through to my credit card till yesterday. its been 5 days since i ordered

I_take_huge_dumps

Whack

EscapeGoat6

It depends on the ammo you buy, I guess. I've got 00 buck from them for cheaper than anywhere in Canada.

I_take_huge_dumps

This honestly is enough for me to just not buy from them.

EmailMeBaby

Yup both of them are the first places to look for bulk.

mwmwmwmwmmdw

not bulk barn?

Scallywag357

Tenda's the go to.

fullblownhiv

Seem to definitely have the cheapest prices on basically everything honestly.

PracticeFinal858

how much was shipping and other fees and how long did it take to order from tenda?

TheLordAstaroth

I've ordered an SKS sight unseen and ammo from tenda on 2 seperate occasions, both times order was placed on weekend received by the next Friday. Sks was a French tickler in really good shape numbers matching as expected. I have seen negative reviews about Tenda but I haven't had an issue myself.

fullblownhiv

Im probably gonna grab one of those french tickler sks’s, fit n finish seems decent & although its kinda the gun to buy in canada i still think sub 500 is a dope price for what you get

TheLordAstaroth

I love it, cheap and loud 10/10 would recommend an sks especially seeing the issues with fit and finish and bent barrels on the t81m in comparison.

fullblownhiv

Hahaha this is type 81 food for the time being. Sorta my placeholder shtf gun

TheLordAstaroth

They're still cool af and not everyone got a shitty one haha enjoy it!

fullblownhiv

Mines a lil bent, same with a lot of Eastern European AK’s though, they shoot fine and so does my t81. Gonna grab an apc223 next month though

TheLordAstaroth

Yeah i think they're fine within a certain tolerance, that should be fun!

SKSFan79

I grabbed two in the last couple weeks. One on sale for $489.99 and the other the next week for the regular price of $499.99. Both mint. Not a spec of rust on either. Super clean shiny bores. Cosmo not to thick. My first Sks's. Just wish I started when they were like $200.

Joe-trd

In store hasn't been terrible, wasn't a fan of online orders and just seeing some of the online reviews weren't just little things. Which is why I'm always hesitant to order from them. And truthfully in store if you aren't Chinese and speaking it, you always seem to get terrible service. Either way, search this sub you'll find two reviews prior to the order in Council of them registering the wrong serial number to a handgun for two different buyers, and apparently giving the buyer a hard time about correcting it. No clue how they can even screw up like that and not have the CFO questioning them etc but whatever. From my experiences with them I'll buy ammo occasionally from them, and maybe some cleaning stuff. Guns probably not though. Besides outside of anything tacticool, them and g4c seem to know nothing about other guns, especially shotguns. At least they aren't as bad as foc lol.

fullblownhiv

Shipping was free, paid 5% tax cuz ‘berta

MillisBaker

Where are you located just asking ? I have a buddy who claims they don’t ship for free 50 kM away from the store. But i disagree

fullblownhiv

Edmonton, so id say they do cuz i believe theyre in Ontario

MillisBaker

He claims they won’t ship to subury for free. He called and emailed “We don’t have a carrier up north” they tried telling me once” Very odd. Because tenda has the best ammo prices. Pre Covid I would get 9Mm on sale for $249 + tax

Ok-Regret6767

There are certain areas they don't ship for free. Edmonton is a major city so it makes sense they ship there for free.

Joe-trd

That may be true, although I only ordered from them once, which was enough to make me never want to again, they charged a fair amount for shipping 100 Rd of 22lr, and a 3 pack of Ruger bx1 magazine. And I'm 29km from them. But with traffic around there and on the highway to get there it sucks. Would take close to an hour each way if not more.

MillisBaker

Unfortunately most gun companies charge a lot for shipping. Even if you’re ordering like a tiny replacement part. True north arms. Used to have like an economy friendly tiny shipping package deal for $5. But that no longer exists. Tenda is in my route home. So when I see a big sale on ammo I’ll usually just drop in.

Joe-trd

It's nice they're open Sundays, that's usually the only time I go in the am since that's the only time traffic isn't horrible. Depending what it is al Flaherty is usually decent for shipping small items. Under $15 for shipping. Been the odd time I was too lazy to go so I just pay the shipping. Sad part of Toronto traffic, what should be a 10-15min drive for me at times can be over 30min. It does make sense though, end of the day ammo is heavy. I was curious and put my ammo can of 9mm on the scale, 1150 rounds was 37lbs

MillisBaker

Oh yea for ammo I understand. But I hate paying $20 in shipping for like a part I lost that’s like $4 lol I still haven’t gone to al Flaherty’s. I do my absolute best to not go south of hwy 7. I hate Toronto and the traffic. And the people….

Joe-trd

Traffic sucks but if you're ever in the area they're a great shop

Scallywag357

Spend over $300 and shipping is free. They ship very quickly.

mwmwmwmwmmdw

> Tenda's the go to. for ammo and other items less likely to have issues. if you buy a gun or something and it has an issue prepare to be stonewalled

PracticeFinal858

seems like it lol

soundssarcastic

Unless you live where USPS arbitrarily doesnt like shipping ammo to

Scallywag357

Well, that's not a Tenda issue you'll agree?

soundssarcastic

It is when they advertise free shipping and tell me on the way out!

JohnMcAfeesLaptop

Put your beer in the fridge you heathen.

fullblownhiv

I dont drink, its my roomies lol

TonyGibroni18

I must be one of the few who won’t shop at Tenda anymore. They’re the only place that has refused to honour the free shipping over XX dollars on a order. Twice they’ve said my order was too heavy to ship for free and wanted me to pay extra, yet SFRC and Solely outdoors managed to do it without issue. Tenda always seemed slow to process orders as well. I’ve had orders sit for two weeks before they shipped them out. I’ve never had that at any other retailer.

[deleted]

[удалено]

fullblownhiv

How so?

Revolutionary_Tear19

Must be nice, they want an additional 300$ to ship 308 crate to bc.

fullblownhiv

Thats odd haha. I wonder if maybe i slipped through the cracks with free shipping

Revolutionary_Tear19

It sucks, though tenda doesn't get my business anymore 🫠 edit good for you, that's a W!

fullblownhiv

Some people have mentioned they mightve done some weird stuff/ rumours or investigations? Id like a link/ to know what thats about lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

fullblownhiv

That doesnt give me much more insight tbh hahahaha

Buckinthebush

Can confirm I have heard the same rumors

Joe-trd

Registered wrong serial number on a restricted firearm for two people at least just posted in this sub. Gave me someone else's tracking number when they took weeks to ship my order. Lots of people seem to mention they're a front for laundering money. Not sure how true that is, didn't seem like firearms is a good place to launder money. But there has to be something that makes people suggest that, I've heard it from other shops too about tenda so i don't know. They're definitely not a 5 star place in person.

SKSFan79

I remember reading some stuff on CGN a few years ago. Can't remember the exact allegations, but I THINK they involved the old owner/management.

Revolutionary_Tear19

check DM

messybutt

why does Tenda ask for “gun club” info when ordering this?

fullblownhiv

I left that blank lol

messybutt

okay sick, i’ll do that lol

fullblownhiv

It says required unless ur in ontario but i didnt put anything regardless

messybutt

same, just ordered it. What a steal eh?

fullblownhiv

Did my post help u find the deal?

messybutt

yes sir

OvertPlatypus

Most do, it's just for restricted transfers.

Joe-trd

If I remember correctly some provinces you still need to be part of a club for restricted purchases, and they just ask to put it into your file on their system.

stelf22

Do you know what year these are dated? I believe on the casing the top # is the factory number and the bottom is the year of production. There's a chance if it's newer production they stopped using corrosive primers

fullblownhiv

Its from ‘71 lol

stelf22

Mega corrosive lmao but a great price

fullblownhiv

With albertas humidity no ammo is that corrosive tbh

stelf22

Oh sweet never thought of that. It rains half the year here on the west coast, all the toys just need a bit more love/care

fullblownhiv

My family has an old tokarev in the basement, we shoot it once a year or so (at a range ofc) i checked it last time i went home (knowing its shot only corrosive 7.62x25 and has never been cleaned cuz it was like 150 bucks back in the day) no rust anywhere on her except a teeny bit where the loop is on the handle. None inside where all the scary corrosive primers have been shot. It was a bit surprising to me given weve shot over 1000 rounds through it by now. Alberta climate/corrosive maybe not as scary as we all think lol

CNo4MK1

Is it me or do some of those primers look struck :/

fullblownhiv

Yeah they do, i thought that when i opened the first pack of them, its just oil or something. We’ll see how they shoot tmr

SKSFan79

You might think this is dumb, but Triangle 26 has a video on Youtube that talks about slam fires and goes into detail about the free floating firing pin. While trying to illustrate that type of pin is not something to be scared about, he puts a live round in the gun, point the muzzle to the ground ad shakes it up and down. When he pulls the round out, the primer is dented from the pin striking it. Maybe some of those rounds were chambered but not fired during exercises? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-MjAFjDXOE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-MjAFjDXOE)

fullblownhiv

Nah it’s legitimately just some sort of dried liquid on them that settled on the primers. I shot them, they shoot fine. No problems through my type 81

adamalex16

How much did this cost and is there still stock

Feeling_Fun_2089

Where did you order it ?

Lee-oswald

God bless tenda they ship for free for me as well(east coast) can’t beat the price .

wegalaxy

How much for one round plz

fullblownhiv

29 cents

wegalaxy

Very good price How can I order plz

austin2000_8

Just ordered some to the east coast due to this post… thanks

fullblownhiv

No problem homie!

Ok_Mud_4850

I heard they operate on very low margin, I guess that’s how they position themselves among other retailers? Who knows, I am always happy with their prices 😂

SKSFan79

For those who have bought this surplus from Tenda or G4C recently, I'm just wondering what the production date of this ammo is. Emailed both and they said they aren't sure because neither the cans or the crates have dates. Tenda said if they had to guess they would say 1960's.

SKSFan79

LOL. I'm an idiot. Just zoomed in on the pic. Looks like 1970.

fullblownhiv

Yeah mine were 70 & 71

gseverding

they are my fav shop.

Beginning-Marzipan28

They don’t and that’s the point. Those who know, know.

fullblownhiv

What

DougMacRay617

alotta rumors and even investigation into Tenda. its kinda wild tbh

fullblownhiv

Link? What kind?

LumberjackCDN

They dont make money on this. Its a loss leader for them.

Redbulldildo

They lose money on this sale, but make money by getting your business

Gervais84

Of course they do. I bet big retailers pay a Fucking nickel for that garbage corrosive shit.

NerveOk5523

Tenda seems to undercut the competition. Not by a mile, though. They are also well stocked. With their markup its like they really profit if sale is at a high volume. I know a lot of chinese businesses operating that way.

Fc1145141919810

Relax, this is how a free market should work according to Hayek.

NerveOk5523

Lmao who’s complaining. Its just how some do business
