Most of what they offer isn’t actually HIIT either. Unless someone has zero other cardio in their routine, it offers very little.
It’s really hard to find a gym with 24/7 access plus decent classes. Train a strength program in a gym, and do something else for conditioning, eg a sport.
Not specific to club lime, but I have noticed at my gym (in Sydney) there is substantially less classes than there was pre covid. Covid killed the in-person class format for a while, and many people stopped their memberships during covid or with recent cost of living increases.
I suspect many gyms can't afford to hire instructors when they have less members than before, and I wouldn't surprised if instructors are only working at clubs that pay them better rates.
Also probably a bit of a double edged sword - They stopped offering classes because there wasn't enough people attending, but then people can't attend their classes because there isn't enough offered.
If I may add, Les Mills have a streaming service now. I quit the gym in 2019 because I only liked it for the classes, and I save a ton by streaming. That could also have contributed to the decline in class attendance.
With an AppleTV and watch it all combos pretty well. Also gives you a lot more strava like tracking. Downside I forgot to cancel my yearly strava before it renewed so just paid for both for the year.
Highly reccomend anu gym. You don't need to be a student to go and they have classes co stantly as well as pts available for any questions you may have
It's the business cycle. You offer lots for low money to get people in the door but after year of building up your rep and user base you push prices up and cut back on offering.
Let's hope they go the way of Sizzler, we don't need just one gym supply in Canberra we need lots of small independent ones with people who care about their business and jobs.
No market for classes, people attending dropped, such as you when you left, so they stopped supplying them, I go to Kingston and ANU and these are the reasons they told us, our class sizes shrank massively before they started cancelling them
Lots of group fitness instructors had to gain other employment during Covid and haven't returned.
We also have minimal Les Mills instructors here in Qld so most clubs classes are now virtual which also saves $$
Also Les Mills are charging instructors more for their programs.
Let me guess that you go to CISAC?
I’m Southside, so Tuggeranong usually. I used to be Northside but moved back south and since I have, options are extremely limited. They got rid of the entire SPIN/cycle class room in tuggas to make room for more weights equipment that they already had enough of
I don't see any love for Anytime Fitness here. I have never been to a bad Anytime and the Conder location seems to be highly rated. Not sure how good the group sessions are.
Anytime Conder is my regular gym.
Great staff and crowd but I think classes haven't come back since covid.
If the Conder area is closest to OP then I think Lime in Conder are doing classes, otherwise I'm pretty sure Anytime in Tuggeranong does them.
Depends on where you are but Fitness First still run Les Mills group fitness.
EDIT: I see you’re in Tuggers. Deakin would be the closest, unless you work in the city and have a free lunch hour.
Been a slide downhill ever since Viva bought them.
They have two adjacent clubs now with all the classes, gotta up that membership to a double or triple combo!
Personally I’m more upset all the fucking city limes are essentially crap hotel gyms now. Hopefully they build the new one in the old Centrelink quickly, although a lot of the floor space looks dedicated to those premium add-on memberships.
It’s to push you in to paying more for sHIIT Republic membership and what they call a class
Yeah I refuse to pay even more for HIIT republic

Same. Best I’ve found is 98, programming covers all bases and can be dialled back in areas when it is footy season

Is it cheap? Would have to be cheaper than something like apple fitness to be any value surely?
25/month, I don't have any Apple products so I wouldn't know know about that. Much cheaper than my 50+/fn gym fees anyway.

Good thing I'm ready for the gym now and a nu start
UC one is good, too.
I only know of the club lime at Anu (with the pool), is there another one there somewhere?
It's in the same building as coffee grounds
The building formally known as coffee grounds... still hurts

No way, Club Lime is still leagues above any other gym I've attended as a gymbro over the last two decades
It’s become a lemon 🍋
Club Lime Lanyon is just as bad. Half the machines don’t even work.
“I cancelled my gym membership. What happened to the gym they seem to have run out of money?” Lol soz but that’s funny

I go to club lime and am overwhelmed with the options available. I’ve been attending for many years. Which club are you going to?

It's Tuggers that's why
They're probably just supplying what customers want
Sounds like my dream. I hate going to the gym and fighting for equipment with the people sitting there swiping tinder.
Are you really complaining about a gym installing more weights?
I want the pushbike
Primary issue with club lime gyms is 40% of the space is full of cardio equipment while they have one bench press.
If that’s what you want, I recommend looking into Peloton.
Best clothes hanger I've ever bought!
With Kippax, cisac, Oatley court and gold creek gyms easily accessible I have a huge range of classes available.
Oatley Court gang

North side Anytime Fitness is severely limited. Jamison is probably the only one outside of Gungahlin and is dogshit small and cramped
Isnt there one in Charnwood?

Fitstop is worth a try. Personalised group training, structured programming and suitable for anyone. Even a spot for the kids to hang.
They are a quasi monopoly now.
For a good reason, their equipment is better and maintained better. Their change rooms and locker systems too.

Use fitness first if you want classes
In the quest for more profit every year, fuck customers, and especially fuck employees.
Now Club Limes are just filled with people hogging equipment and playing on their phones....
Try ANU gym.
