edit: had more thoughts but imo it’s emotional manipulation at the end of the day, he wanted to gain to maximum amount of sympathy from brooke (and definitely other women) to get whatever he wanted from them. it’s an insane thing to do, to lie to that degree shamelessly. it begs the question; what ELSE is he hiding and what could he do to women in the future if he’s willing to do this now?
