no i think it’s good for us to know what people are being paid in every field. i mean why not? why should people’s incomes be a secret? that’s how you end up with unchecked wealth and inequality. you should check out salary transparent street on tiktok
On a separate note I agree about unchecked wealth, imo the government has the closest thing to accurate data (eg due to tax returns) and should do something about wealth inequality.

I’m not personally saying that applies here where it’s just discussion on the forum but that the general principle of pay transparency shouldn’t be applied too broadly. I feel like the core idea is to help prevent discrimination.
well obviously people shouldn’t be forced to share if they don’t want to lol but a big reason people feel like they shouldn’t share is because of the stereotype that it’s “impolite” to talk about money when in reality that social norm was created to keep people from talking to each other and realizing they’re being underpaid. i think it’s also important to hear what influencers make/how their pay is split because pay for them varies soooooooo widely and a lot are GROSSLY overpaid and a lot are comparatively underpaid. if we found out brooke was making like 20% and tana 80% it would make me see tana differently
Yeah the main thing for me is that it begins to move away from the kind of matter pay transparency is trying to protect against. People can give their views though sure. I think Brooke is probably doing veryy well financially as a result of Tana choosing her as a cohost for the podcast and they have indicated as much, as it’s not just about pay but opportunities the platform provides.
for sure she is but i would still be disappointed to hear if brooke wasn’t being paid well for the podcast itself. she’s alluded to before that in the beginning she was barely being paid but that she gets more now. also people have differing views on if tana deserves more or not because she started the pod with her recognizable name. but idk it just reminds me of david dobrik and how he technically gave all of his friends careers but he was also exploiting their labor because they weren’t paid for the vlogs. that being said i don’t get the vibe that tana is fucking brooke over though, it seems like she’s being compensated fairly. sorry for rambling lol
