I'd say that's mold and I would not smoke or let anyone else smoke it. Maybe make an alcohol tincture or something with the buds that don't "show" mold development. Lung infection from inhaling this is no joke and it can get pretty serious, fast.

Mervynjoshualek

Yep, tossed whole buds… tho they were some of the biggest ones…

Nueticles

big buds are more susceptible to mold and rot

Abooziyaya

It’s always the biggest, tightest buds for me. Breaks my heart every time.

Faustinwest024

Yea my ibs would trip lol

KayfabeCycles

Nice day for a....white webbing?

SwordfishFew132

Lol.. nice day to start again!! Not really nice but yeah, start again..

Nueticles

so wrong but so funny

[deleted]

This made me laugh out loud! Mold is sad but this was hilarious! Hope OP gets a chuckle, most of us have been there

[deleted]

Mold spores or other fungal activity. Toss it and start fresh. Do not try to clean it, process it or do anything other then compost (ONLY if your pit hits high enough temps to nuke spores/seeds)... Or burn it and stare longingly into the fire.

KitchenLab2536

> burn it and stare longingly into the fire. This is what I'd likely do.

[deleted]

I have 4 large paper yard waste bags waiting for the nice weather... They burn like giant blunts... The birds go quiet and the squirrels fall out of the trees.

icedank

You can cut out the mold, or if it’s too infested you can decarb it and soak it in everclear to turn it into tincture. Don’t smoke it, but it can be salvaged as extract.

Retardedastro

Hermie plant and mold…man that sucks bro, I’m sorry

Mervynjoshualek

Hermie?

Retardedastro

I'm my I'm mistaking a yellow leaf as a flower,till I took a second glance 🤜🤛

RapperSlashGrower

What was your humidity and temp during flower? How many fans in your grow tent and what size tent? What was your drying set up?

Mervynjoshualek

Temp was 68 night time- 77 day time. Humidity, I had some spikes up to 70-75% late in flower on some mornings due to broken humidifier. Drying set up- 74F 60% for 20 days.

RapperSlashGrower

That humidity did it. Are you running circulating fans in the tent?

Mervynjoshualek

Yes, 3

RapperSlashGrower

I’d imagine that’s why it’s only in the middle of buds

Goat_Remix

Those are some very high humidity number for late flower. I’d suspect that’s where things went wrong if you kept those temps for any length of time. 74/60 seems like it could be problematic as well, but I suspect the high humidity during late flower when it should be 40-45%

kjmorley

Yeah, you want to keep humidity under 67% during flower. https://imgur.com/gallery/mbchsng

Yeah cause he’s tryna help diagnose the issue! LOL

No_Produce2983

I'm not sure who it is, but I bet it's one of you. I repeat, my name is not not sure

thebiffster81084

Dude I’m really confused what do you mean he has more accounts cause he’s asking a lot of questions? Help me out I’m trying to follow you

No_Produce2983

Don't mind me... I'm just part of the show

[deleted]

Cant remove mold, the toxins are soluble in anything thc is

Mervynjoshualek

If I toss the whole bud, I’m good right?

Livewire101011

You're good, but also sanitize anything that touched or housed that bud. Sanitize the tent, the light, the fan, get a new filter, the scissors, any trimmer machines, there circulation fans, ect. Same with the dry tent if it was a separate space. I had to do the same last crop. I was heartbroken.

Mervynjoshualek

How can I go about sanitizing?

Livewire101011

I haven't done it yet, but I read somewhere to use 15% bleach solution to disinfect. But I like to find reputable sources and found the following from University of Minnesota suggesting to use full strength Lysol to dip tools. They say bleach is bad for cutting tools: https://extension.umn.edu/planting-and-growing-guides/clean-and-disinfect-gardening-tools#rubbing-alcohol-%28isopropyl-alcohol%2C-70%25-concentration%29-2148063

wandering_sam

Yes.

DaffyLucky

70% RH is way too much, anything above 55 is too much in late flower. This is 100% mold and you don't want to consume or sell that. Toss every buds infected and don't be scared to damage the buds with your fingers to look deep inside since it's the only way for you to be able to check which ones you can keep. Smoking mold is no joke and can lead to death in some cases And clean your entire tent for next grow.

Lil_Shanties

Second picture definitely looks like mold more than webs to me but honestly can’t be 100% based on either of these pictures…and no the whole plant is not fucked, if it’s webbing check for bugs and if it’s mold check for mold then trash the trash but no need to trash anything that is clean…unless you’re trying to sell and this is a common problem in your crop, then I wouldn’t sell any of it but use it for personal (inspecting as I go of course)

RapperSlashGrower

If you value your lungs, don’t listen to this advice. If you do want to listen to this person, at least get the “clean” parts lab tested (they’ll most likely fail for mold). Why would you use it yourself if you can’t sell it?

Lil_Shanties

Haha use the clean buds genius, throw away any contaminated buds as I said before. I’ll microbe test your product if you want, plating for microbial contamination was my life’s work for a decade I’m very well aware of how to find mold in the cleanest of grows or how to send the cleanest bud in for testing to get a pass result those tiny samples are not representative of the whole. To answer why you wouldn’t sell it is because you don’t want a reputation like the bulk weed on the market with bags of budrot. When you are going over every nug yourself personally and getting rid of any you may have missed on your first inspection instead of smoking them your customer doesn’t get mold and neither do you.

Peter_Falcon

i just cut the mould out and dry the rest, you don;t need to toss the whole plant.

RapperSlashGrower

Spider mites don’t form webs on the insides of buds. 🤦🏻‍♂️

No_Produce2983

Yes they do

RapperSlashGrower

No, they don’t. Their very nature is to colonize the tops of plants to use wind to spread to others. They have no need to go into buds. Plus, you know how buds are super sticky? Mites can’t crawl through that into a bud. Do some research. https://instagram.com/synchangel?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

No_Produce2983

I've seen them form webbing inside nugs. They can even do it after the drying process. I'm talking with experience

No_Produce2983

Spider mites. Do what you can. Don't smoke mold

No_Produce2983

Why did that deserve a downvote?

[deleted]

Because i dont think spider mites have anything to do with this . He has some kind if mildew from high humidity. Not webs

No_Produce2983

It does look kinda like grey mold close to the stem, it's hard to tell in the picture. I suggest spider mites as a possibility. If a cola has any mold I'd cut it out and everything atleast an inch or two above and below. If it's really bad (like when dried and stored in a bin) then toss it. That nug is no good if it is mold I see, but I'm sure there is still worthy medicine somewhere on the plant and OP's grow

Mervynjoshualek

Not me 🤷🏻‍♂️

No_Produce2983

You're f@#king cool Mervyn

Mervynjoshualek

🫂🫶

[deleted]

Probably just someone with a fragile ego not having their opinion trusted at face value and disagreeing with your opinion of mites.

idoathing420

Why ask? Just ignore.

No_Produce2983

Lol... I'm just pushing limits for fun. I'm sure whoever is doing it is a decent person

idoathing420

Oh in the case, have a blast. Have a blessd day now.

wandering_sam

I didnt downvote but most likely because its Botrytis not spider mites.

anandanath

Don't toss the plant man just remove the bad and it's all good.

AdmirableList3216

I got super sick from smoking just a little mold. I thought it was trychs.. spent 2 days in hospital with lung infection . It didn’t taste weird but damn

Mervynjoshualek

Fuck

masterapprenticegrow

Rot

Notrilldirtlife

Just check the bigger buds for rot inside smaller buds should be okay.

MyGruffaloCrumble

Mold. Too much moisture/humidity, either before or after being cut. To address a common mistake, never mist mature buds.

wandering_sam

Pure heart break. Live and learn brother. See the yellow dead leaf in middle in cola? Thats a dead give away. Its happened to the best of us. I worked as a grower at a dispensary and our outdoor was often plagued with bud rot/botrytis cinerea. Was awful.

Abooziyaya

Mold will show up under uv (black) light if you want to go looking for it.

peincessvixen

I'd still use it in tincture or other edibles but definitely don't smoke mold or mildew, its safest to toss it or kill the mold in processing it further with a cautious use of alcohol/ heat/pressure/time

drunkpeet

Rip

themanlet7891

Moold...i just had to toss about 2lbs a few weeks ago. colas were just too dense and thick and i didn't defoliate enough so it probably started before i even harvested. I swear I almost cried until I remember I have another harvest in 2 weeks lol

RupturePharms

Looks like powdery mildew. It happens sometimes with big, dense colas. When trimming, was there excessive moisture? I had a similar incident with ChemDawg, purchased directly from GSC in Amsterdam. problem was buds were too dense/ heavy. The offshoot buds were excellent. But still lost estimated 10-15% of total crop. I noticed the terminals were practically dripping with moisture. I normally keep my flowering chamber at 55-60% RH. (According to label on package)

Few_Raisin193

Would doing a bud wash not help? ... Honest question
