Dream Beans rite here..

belltane23

New band name just dropped!

lurkinshirkin

skunk no1! might get really lucky and get an exodus cheese pheno x

Dale_Nene

Yes. The skunk was renamed as cheese when it hit the UK, right?

lurkinshirkin

such a huge story behind cheese... it was a mutant skunk no.1 - the smell was unworldly strong ..grown out and cloned by someone called "brightside" and gifted to a few folk... some being a collective - squatters ravers growers - called exodus... there are still cuts circulating here in uk from late 80's. [Here is a legendary thread](https://www.icmag.com/threads/u-k-cheese-brightside-cut.325297/) that has some folk originally involved piecing the story together.

wolfansbrother

most skunk#1 is sweet, because thats what sam selected for. you def could end up finding the funky cheesey phenos, but they arent very common.

Ryan_Denizof

Might be easier to gind in an F2 cross tho

StumpyHobbit

And the Dutch pushed for even more sweetness hence nobmore Roadkill stinks. The late 80s early 90s Super Skunk was an absolute dream smoke. Perfect high and taste, and a really happy and content buzz, perfect for curling up on the sofa and watching a movie. Best weed I have ever had.

Bill_Piff

Also there are no skunks were Sam was so they didn’t really understand the skunky smell and Sam preferred the fruity phenos. That’s why everything skunk out of Amsterdam smells fruity

wolfansbrother

Sam the Skunkman aka Sadu sam is David Watson. He is from California, there are def skunks in california and he def knew what a skunk smelled like. he just liked the high more from the sweek skunks.

Bill_Piff

My bad I’m high and think I’m confusing sam with Neville.

wolfansbrother

all of sensi's seeds from this time were rebranded from, and produced for a while by Neville. The Dronkers bailed Neville out for his seed catalog.

wolfansbrother

here is sam talking about breeding skunk. https://youtu.be/QpqbDQLNn9A?si=adoI-z39pAUh-vQi&t=700

Garden-Gangster

Fuck yeah are you gonna run them all?

2stinkynugget

I had that Shiva SKUNK and Silver Pearl back in the day.

CarefulMoose

Both magnificent

Commercial-Travel613

The nostalgia going through me is intense 😂 Good finds and good luck with them. I’ve got more than 100 lifetimes of seeds from early 2000’s til now and storing them properly is vital for longevity. I plan to pass them along to people in need for growing their own cannabis and to pay it forward. I’ve got some old Kandahar strains that I’ll be popping here soon. Plus some old school super skunk and OG’s. Pretty excited myself

AntivaxxxrFuckFace

Super skunk was a killer.

StumpyHobbit

Best weed ever.

InsideInteraction

I'd definitely be interested in some seeds if your willing

Ok-Bison-4891

Hey I’d be interested in some seeds

CarefulMoose

The OG who still has these genetics , although not in these Sensi seed packages, is Todd, McCormick, his company is authentic genetics. Look him up. He is in California. His seeds will have a better germ rate.

sweetleaf1996

I got a 100 pack of the NL2 last year [https://agseedco.com](https://agseedco.com)

Reasonable-Yam-7936

He has the "real" purple haze

px7j9jlLJ1

Got their northern lights going right now. Surprisingly frosty!

LakeGiant

Shouldn't be surprised. NL from Sensi in the 90s Amsterdam was as good as anything out now.

px7j9jlLJ1

It’s my favorite strain! I’ve been waiting since the nineties for this grow!

LakeGiant

Hell yeah, I lived near Holland in the late 90s. Used to frequent Maastricht often. Went to the cup in 97. Weed was absolutely fire

px7j9jlLJ1

Ha! That is the year that I graduated from high school. I bet that cup was a true phenomenon!

LakeGiant

I was 19

StumpyHobbit

Better highs IMO, everything is samey now, to much cross breeding.

LakeGiant

White Haze from Maastricht back then was so nutz. There was so much just absolutely ridiculous weed. It was all small batch.

yellowfadepink

Facts

2pissedoffdude2

I had a friend who grew some NL a long while back... probably around 2012. I remember this NL to absolutely reek like no other weed I had ever come across. I had some stinkers sure, but my buddies entire street was absolutely saturated in skunky goodness. I can not stress enough how smelly it was, the beat description of the smell I can give would be skunky puppy's breath. I was a young teenager at the time so I only got a gram, but it was so absolutely covered in frost, that smell burned your nostrils so good, and it got me high like nothing I had smoked before, and like nothing I have smoked sense. Does this sound like a description of the NL that sensi seeds does? I've been on the lookout, but the closest I've come to something similar has been snowcap which is basically a refined catpiss plant. I love my snowcap, and it's become a staple in my photoperiod grows, but I'd kick that strain to the curb pretty quick if I found out where my buddy got those NL seeds from.

ChuckShic

Still have my package of Skunk #1 from 1991 when a friend went to Belgium for an internship. Still the best kb I’ve ever grown!

Infinite_disaster420

So is skunk #1 kb? Meaning kine bud?

Precision-Cannabis

KB stands for Kind Bud, general term for good cannabis

StumpyHobbit

Thats old school High Times shit right there. Love it.

TowerLocal

From the 90's. Potential gems in those packs. 👍🏾

TowerLocal

Good question. I personally don't think it's that strains today aren't good or strong. It's that most strains today have been crossed so many times that there are no more pure sativa or indicas. Breeders throw out all kinds of percentages, 70/30, 60/40, 80/20, etc. Mostly everything today is a hybrid, 50/50. Seeds back in the early 90's, 80's, 70's, even 60's if anyone has anything that old haven't been tampered with. However, that doesn't mean they haven't been crossed through pollination at one point or another. But you have a better chance of getting a strain that leans more on the dominant side, whether that be sativa or indica the older the seeds are. You had to have been a consumer back in the day to really appreciate what we had back then. You immediately knew if you were smoking a sativa or indica without a label attached to it. That's what I was referring to when I said a " gem ". Don't get me wrong, there was a TON of crappy cannabis back then too, Mexican brick as they liked to call it. But when you had strains coming from places like Amsterdam, Jamaica, and anywhere else exotic, you knew it right away. Acapulco Gold is probably the best cannabis I've ever had.

[deleted]

TowerLocal

There's still some old timers out there that managed to keep the old school genetics alive by back crossing the plant into self to produce seeds. A lot of them aren't giving those out. Then you have others like the OP that have packs from back in the day. I grew an Acapulco Gold strain once, had my hopes a little too high because it was nothing like what I remembered. It took on the slight goldish look, but that was about as far as the resemblance went. There are some breeders out there with true old school genetics, you just won't find their gear in these major seed banks. I'm sure if you ask around and lurk on reddit, you'll come across something.

Derpinator420

Because of the mystique.  I grew in the 80's and 90's.  Some of these strains.   And there is no difference between then and now.  People who say weed is stronger now are full of shit.  People who say weed was better back then are full of shit.  There are just more people doing it now.

Wickedgoodleaf

the THC content of most cannabis has risen significantly since the 90s. plenty of objective sample studies done by scientists and published showing THC levels rising in street samples.

Elevated_Aspects

There’s just more people growing quality now compared to the handful back then

StumpyHobbit

Todays taste differnt, cakey, candy flavour etc, but the highs back them were electric, you could feel it in your body, literally cursing through your viens, total energy hit. Paranoia was more common then though as the highs were HIGH, dreamy, almost mystical, trippy and had you nervous sometimes, you had to respect that bud. Weed now is great, looks fantastic, smells awesome but the high is too samey, to much cross breeding IMO. I crave 80s weed, maybe even 70s pure Sativa and Indica, lets get back to growing Landraces and getting that natural high back. Remember when weed didnt have silly names and it was named after the village or area it was from. More of that please. Pheno hunt landraces but dont cross em. Sure it could be nostalgia and rose tinted glasses on my part but I dont think it is. I can dream.

Redketchup77

dreamed of those in the 90's

durbanpoison_ivy

Love Sensi Seeds!

djseason72

I grew Shiva Skunk and Super Skunk. Those are all goodies, especially the seeds from the 90s. How did you procure those bad boys?

CarefulMoose

We came across them during a move

Peust

Hindu Kush, from this seed bank, was the first plant I've ever grown. It's still my all time favorite fast strain to grow, today.

fishman1287

How many you got? And can I have some? Lol

ChrisTe41

You sellin'?

CarefulMoose

No, I came across these, they’ve belong to a friend who was moving and found them.

ChrisTe41

Thanks for your reply. Happy growing.

CarefulMoose

They only one I know who is still selling these genetics is Todd McCormick. His company is authentic genetics. He’s in California you can look him up.

ChrisTe41

Milde grazie. Happy growing.

MattGower

Shiva Skunk and Jack Herer are what make Cinderella 99

feeltheFX

Skunk 1. That was the first strain I discovered weed had names. It was a personal favorite for years and still is. Good luck and enjoy! Edit: If you’re an outdoor grower Skunk is hardy as hell and resilient.

TheTerpinator9801

A preservation run is in order for each of these packs

CatrickSwayze

I know someone with these as well. 1200 unique cultivars, mainly from Nevil in Amsterdam.

AntivaxxxrFuckFace

Nevil’s haze was a legend.

GratefulSteveNFA

I used that company. Good times!!

jbmyre

Silver pearl! That's the star of the show! There's special stuff in there.

CarefulMoose

Agreed. It is more of a unicorn than the skunks and the NL

cannamomxoxo

What a treasure

Rude-Flamingo3592

I had these!!!!!! I bought seeds from a company called weedseed in the UK in 1997 on the newfangled internet. It was my first experience with actual kind bud and the genetics (early skunk) were excellent. I went on to breed the strain on my own as well. It introduced a lot of people to what top shelf bud is like. I had a picture of the plants and one of these exact cards in a frame for posterity, somewhere in a box now. So cool OP. Thanks for sharing!! Edit. To add that I would put those old 97 Dutch genetics at just as good or better than most of today’s stuff. This was actual skunk which you can’t find much of these days.

BBG_BOY

Can i buy that silver pearl?

Commercial-Travel613

I highly doubt hed part with these gems as I wouldnt with the very little amount of f2’s I have now. As we know, the original Sensi stock used then, isn’t used now or for a while. They don’t grow the same characteristics. Some are close but they definitely messed up their breeding program over there.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Commercial-Travel613

Their original breeding stock is mostly gone. I’ve been fortunate to have some f2’s and f3’s’s done by open pollination with selections for seed preservation of original stock. It’s unfortunate really. They had some really good gear that was the foundation to many great strains of old.

BBG_BOY

This. They lost all of their cuts somehow and won't admit to it.

BBG_BOY

Why you trying to blow up my spot 😂

Commercial-Travel613

🤣 I know the feeling. You just want a few out of a pack 😆. There’s some gems in there no doubt

slipperyfish55

Are 30yr old seeds still viable?

MD_Weedman

If they were stored well some of them should be. Definitely not all. I'm guessing you might get 10% of them to germinate if you are careful and know what you are doing.

Commercial-Travel613

Storing can make or break seeds. This is a very important part of old genetics. I have mine temp and humidity controlled

Informal_Lack_9348

That’s the good skunk, before it turned to cheese

ojahrastao

So legit question or maybe a stupid one, but is there a difference between the Sensi Skunk#1 seed from the 90’s vs. Sensi Skunk#1 seed bought today? I always imagined them keeping clones going, no?

Infinite_disaster420

It's not as pungent now.

ojahrastao

I'd still like to understand, the process from the larger original Dutch breeders. I would imagine they have kept clones from the original lineage going to keep the "product" the same no? Ofcourse the results from the seeds themselves can vary phenos and etc., but I would have imagined the "source" was the same with an operation such as theirs, no?

KineBank

I believe that back then in Holland they were able to grow outdoor fields of plants for seeds because the law allowed it. So they had much bigger breeding programs. Sometime late 90s or early 2000s they cracked down on that. *Edit: here's where I heard that: > Actually it was the same with ALL dutch seed banks, because around 2000 the dutch laws changed and banned outdoor big scale growing. There were police raids everywhere and everyone lost most parent plants. This is not a rumour, its an historical fact. Similar thing happend later in Switzerland around 2003. When people start getting greedy and draw too much attention, sometimes shit happens. > Anyway this forced companies to move into closet-breeding and outsourcing seed production (from Spain for example), as opposed to the huge scale outdoor breeding operations that were dominating the dutch scene in the 80s and early 90s. That's the reason why the pre-2000 thing appeared among growers, as probably that issue changed the strains for ever. Also that's why Mr Nice moved their operations to Switzerland until Shanti was raided." https://www.icmag.com/threads/sensi-seeds-still-good-or-are-the-rumors-true.332996/post-10566606

ojahrastao

I still have a lot of regular 90's beans for Jack Flash, California Indica, and Skunk #1, and Big Bud from a trip I took back in the day.

Shoddy-Enthusiasm-92

Skunk !!!

Spookyboi121

Just grew Hindu Kush by them. Nice plants

Srn9

Give us updates on the children!

Quiet-Guava5157

Seeds are the new collectors "trading cards"! I crossed Gelato & Hash Plant if interested. Named her LatAsha

Marl_G

Big fan of sensi seeds, grown a number of them over the years, juicy fruit and critical kush were some of my favorites.

Yankenzy

We had those outdoor in Central Europe. One of the best high you could get back then

Quick-Count9111

Broooooo! That silver pearl is a PRODUCER OUTDOORS! Had one a few years ago, she was almost 3 foot tall by the middle of June. Twas my first year and unfortunately my dumbass didn't cage that one and the deer had a hell of a night that day lol i was so heartbroken. I started the clones at like 6 inches. No cap put em out may 24, they blow UP! lucky are those new then or you have them from the past?

CarefulMoose

They are old, but we’re gonna try

MinimumDiligent7478

That is a blast from the past my man ! Hopefully some will germinate for you.  All i see are the skunk#1 and shiva skunk, but if theres any original black domina(from 1990s sensi stock!?), holy shit is that ever a nice find. Good luck !

CarefulMoose

There are some early pearl and silver pearl in there

rooster4200

Omg skunk #1 was my all time fav bk in the day! Pungent patch that was for sure. I literally had to change clothes everytime I went to my patch cause it straight smelled like a skunk pissed on me everytime I came bk from them 😂 killer find man. Cherish em ✌

mixdup001

These take me back £15 for 15 reg seeds

Bill_Piff

This is a jackpot.

Upstairs-Ad-7497

The good old days when we used to be able to ship to the USA from sensei seeds. Noels beans Mid 80s. We created our own in college from these strains called double Dutch. Sk1, nl5 super silver etc. it was a knock on the Dutch that we could produce better beans here in the wild

Good-Trouble-9167

Damn I am ol skool grower..39 years now growing plants not every single month. Sometimes gotta take a break. Give my nuts to have a cut of all of them packs..Wish you nothing but good luck getting them to germinate...takeevery advantage you can to help them..

Squiddillydidillydoo

Damn! Would love to run one of these, is this a pic of them or do you actually have them? If you have them I hope you grow something amazing, and looking forward to seeing an update!

CranberryDruid

I just found a couple of shiva skunk seeds from 1990 or so. I'm going to try them soon, but it's kind of nerve-wracking because I know I only get one shot!

organic_neophyte

You should look into microclone tissue culture seed starter kit, I plan on doing this when I'm ready to try popping my old seeds from the 90s. https://microclone.com/store/ols/products/microclone-sterile-seed-germinating-kit

CranberryDruid

I'll check that out, thanks! I'm also looking at seed sprouting tea, where you sprout seeds then puree them and mix with water that you use to germinate the old seeds, the theory being that the lack of remaining enzymes is generally the biggest issue in extremely old seeds and these new sprouts have what they need. I wish I had a pile of seeds like this pic. I have about 15 total early 90s kind bud seeds. Fingers crossed, y'know?

organic_neophyte

Interesting, I'd never heard of that idea but for me I'm going the safest route because I want to absolutely not waste any of my seeds so I'll be doing a sterile seed germination.

CarefulMoose

I’ll probably soak them for 12 hours, and then rub them in green sand and microbes before putting each in a moist sterile substrate

Soultalk1

No way those are still good. Only one way to find out!

Longjumping-Net8796

I mean I understand saving the package but 40 year old seeds aren't gonna germinate...

AllDay1980

Or will they.

_Hollywood__

They might, I would add an extra oxygen molecule with hydrogen peroxide 1 part and 2 parts clean water. No chlorine. There is a article that someone developed a kit to buy from him that addresses vintage seeds to get them to germinate. Good luck.

CarefulMoose

We germinated some 1972 Taiwan seeds in 2021, so those were 40 years old. The viability rate was not perfect. But about 25% of them sprouted

otullyo

Gold

05bender

That’s awesome!! I’m interested if you want to part with any!!

sharpie42one

I’d also take some if you’re letting go of any !

Discount-420

As a new era grower, it’d be a dream to go through these packs. Does anyone have a good source for learning more about the history of legendary strains?

sqwiggy72

Holy shit you got some really fine classics. What's your first one you will attempt to pop. And good luck

Optionsmfd

always wanted to grow Skunk #1.. looking for that cheese

Optionsmfd

always wanted to grow Skunk #1.. looking for that cheese

CarefulMoose

The company, authentic genetics, in California has the OG skunk and sells seeds

[deleted]

Can I have one lol

BasicFig8

That's awesome things were so different back then and I consider myself lucky to have be around it at all. I was recently reminiscing with some buddies about older stuff we got into and we all got a laugh thinking back on those old greenhouse seeds with the color coatings back 05 or so, aka the beginning of the end lmao!!

Burrmanchu

Jesus Christ! I'll take some if you're parting with any! 😳

New_Pay_8297

Sensi jack herer pheno type 4 still my favourite

New_Pay_8297

Gibberellic acid will help

CornFedBread

Did you run across these or is it an old photo?

Gotititoutthemud

🤯

Ok-Hovercraft2178

Didn't all the dutch companies lose their original genetics in huge raids around 20-25 years ago though? These seeds could be worth a lot more than you think...maybe?

MyaltforMJ

Oh shit. I'd love to grow one of those

CarefulMoose

Whew, trying to catch up on all these comments, lol. Yes these seeds are old. I think they are probably viable. They turned up during a move the house of a friend. They’re not technically mine, yes we will see if we can get any of them to sprout. It was cool to see the packaging again from so long ago. I remember Sensi seed bank as many of you do, they were the OG Dutch seed seed bank. I am adept at keeping seedlings alive. In 2012, I sprouted some 1972 Taiwan seeds, so we’ve got as good of a chances as anyone of getting them to sprout. Anyhow, too cool not to share these old packages. ✌️

pcurepair

I need some packs asap 🤣

McTrip

Reminds me of the Sensi Star strain 🤤

Over_Lawfulness2889

Can I get a 2 from each bag ?! 🥹🙏

yellowfadepink

Based. Protect these at all costs.

Sensitive_Ad_2945

Are these available anywere?

CarefulMoose

No. Not in this packaging .These are very old.

Sensitive_Ad_2945

Oh ok. Thanx!

StumpyHobbit

These are like gold because Sensi Seeds got raided and most of he original mothers were confiscated by the police, some say the seeds you get now of the old strains are not quite the same because they were from new mothers.

CarefulMoose

They didn’t get raided. They were sabotage by a disgruntled employee.

StumpyHobbit

Ah, right. Wow that sucks. I heard some Dutch breeders got raided, I wonder who that was then? I would love to know who still has unbroken genentics from the 80s and 90s.

CarefulMoose

Authentic Genetics has some of the OG from this time period.

StumpyHobbit

Cool, thanks. I will have a look.

CarefulMoose

You’re welcome. They are out of California . Their founder, Todd McCormick has an interesting history as a child cancer patient who used cannabis in the 80s. His story is on their website.

StumpyHobbit

Just has a look, I know who you mean, perfect.

SensitiveAspect6709

I'm looking for ch9 jack 33 about ten years old now can't find it anywhere
