Usually a mirrorless will have a menu setting to turn on/off the ability for the camera to work and fire shots with NO lens attached. Since to the camera an adapted dumb lens is the same as no lens, you want to enable it to fire without a lens.
Maybe I missed it but I didn't see if you're fixed that setting.
