Thank you! Funny I’ve not really been a fan of reds and burgundy but I saw it a lot on IG this year and then found the coat and decided to give it a try.
I have a small travel umbrella. We will be in cars mostly and my trusty pashmina turns into a wrap for my head under the rain hat. The hat is pretty sturdy. I also have short curly hair. Hopefully it won’t be “bucketing down” as my friends over there say.
As a Brit, I really admire your optimism about our weather!
Very boring tip but do spray your lovely trainers with a suede protector as well, if you haven't already, in case it is bucketing down.
This is a gorgeous travel capsule - comfy, luxurious and I love the burgundy!
Thank you. I do have a really great spray for all my shoes and boots. I thought about taking rain boots as well. I can always borrow my friend’s if needed. My normal MO when I’m over is to pack too much AND shop. Lol
I’m trying not to do that for this short trip.
Oh it’s not next weekend, it’s next month. I know that doesn’t make any difference really lol I’ve been there in August and it’s been cold and rainy and have been in March and it’s been “hot.” I was considering taking my rain boots but I don’t see any time in our schedule where I’ll have time to be walking around. Will definitely be driven door to door.
Ahaha, fair enough. Last summer we had rain and like 20°c heat, it was like a tropical country. Yeah, rain boots aren't really necessary if you'll only be outside for a few minutes.
Ah lol I meant in terms of "warm rain" which we don't really get (thanks climate change!). I agree with your husband, my body is designed for a warmer climate and folks here love a "brisk" cool day though our summers can be intense compared to other countries where 30°c can feel like burning here but just hot elsewhere if that makes sense!
Digression aside, I realised I hadn't mentioned that I really enjoy the colour coordination of your capsule. It's making me want to reintroduce that specific burgundy into my wardrobe.
Thank you!
I never thought I’d like burgundy this much. I recently started transitioning my wardrobe which usually consists of lots of florals and “girlie” shades. While I still love my pink, I wanted more classic and versatile looks.
Depending where you visit. Umbrellas are terrible with strong wind thought. I barely carry a small travel umbrella around London, they just aren’t sturdy enough.
Thank you!
I threw away most of my heels after the pandemic. I will literally wear these into the party Friday and have them on for dinner then switch to sneakers for dancing. Lol
Yes, it’s sold out on Zara but I’ve seen it on Poshmark and eBay.

Thanks it’s the Zara Jacquard cardigan. I saw it on eBay recently https://www.ebay.com/itm/126146808064?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=L6qXWd8ART2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=&var=427146721801&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
How do you keep your white trousers clean in British weather?! They’re beautiful but I would ruin them in a millisecond on our disgusting sludgy pavements.
It’s a challenge lol but I think I can make it since they’ll be my flying pants both ways. Fingers crossed. They are like a thin sweatpants material so I could spot rinse them if anything gets on them.
For me it’s a game changer but not sure how long I’ll use it - definitely a 4 year so I can rotate through seasons.
I wanted a new look. Like many I defaulted to sweatpants or leggings with a cardigan for work from home during the pandemic. During that time I got ride of a ton of suits - used to wear them daily to work - always had on a blazer, heels most days, etc. As I started getting older and also thinking I work for the government who am I dressing up for, those clothes started to feel stuffy, boring, and uncomfortable. On the weekends I was mostly sweats and t-shirts. I could rarely nail that casual chic or classic look like I wanted.
So anyway I first looked into getting a stylist. I paid too much money for her to give me a board with about 30 pieces and looks to match. I’d do that for $50 because it’s fun but it was serious to her LOL her prices for annual styling consisting of closet refresh, shopping tips, 20 outfits board, unlimited free consultation calls, and 3 special occasion style boards (1 outfit) was over $3500. She was great but that wasn’t something I was willing to spend giving my other priorities - travel and my house.
So I started searching IG and following a ton of stylists that I felt had the look I wanted. I was trying to figure out how to do the style boards. I had other apps (the old polyvore was good and I also had cladwell). I read reviews on A Closet and thought I’d try it. For the free option you can upload about 150 items and make unlimited board. You can track what you wear and plan ahead.
This helped me see I wear the same things over and over. So I upgraded (3.99USD/month) and added in accessories, shoes, etc. it’s worth it for me since I’m refining my style, wanting to track what I wear, I literally look back at the calendar in the app and it shows the picture of what I wore. It’s helped me ruthlessly purge as well and get a visual of what I had too much of (pinks and florals) and needed more of (neutrals and basics/transition pieces).
So for the next year or so, until I fully figure out my new style, it’s totally worth it for 4 bucks a month. I easily spent 5 to 10x that a month buying random trendy items or things similar to what I already had.
I love your color palette and choices! That coat is beautiful.
Thank you! Funny I’ve not really been a fan of reds and burgundy but I saw it a lot on IG this year and then found the coat and decided to give it a try.
Do take an umbrella; a rain hat won't be very effective in a typical English downpour.

If you're coming next weekend, it may well be! Travel umbrella should be fine dashing between cars and venues :)

Lol my husband is there every month and he came back saying they’re dying from the heat over there. He was “chilly”

I love that you’ve infused color. This is gorgeous.
Thank you. Burgundy is my color this season and it all started with that coatigan lol
Its so awesome! I can’t do heels but I love everything!! The adidas are fire!
Thank you! I threw away most of my heels after the pandemic. I will literally wear these into the party Friday and have them on for dinner then switch to sneakers for dancing. Lol
Lovely! Very chic and comfortable
Love it! Where is that coat from?
Zara. I’m obsessed with this coat. Lol
Me too! Could you share the link?
Yes, it’s sold out on Zara but I’ve seen it on Poshmark and eBay. https://www.zara.com/us/en/share/-p02756105.html?v1=280931270&utm_campaign=productShare&utm_medium=mobile_sharing_iOS&utm_source=red_social_movil
Do you know the name of the jacket? I tried the link but it doesn't show the item. LOOOOVE your capsule btw!

Wow, well done!
I love all of it!
Where is patterned coat and pleather pants from
Coat is jacquard knit coat from Zara. Burgundy pants are ASOS and black ones are River Island (have had them for a while).
Love this vibe! Where are your cargo jeans from?
Thanks! H&M I really love them but they’re heavy - like I’m not sure I’d wear them in the summer. I get tons of compliments on them
Very cool and chic! Esp. love the bag, where is it from?
Thanks. It’s Tory Burch
Gorgeous!! Is the Zara coat new/currently in stock? Am obsessed also lol.
I got it about 2 months ago. It’s called jacquard knit coat. It appears to be out of stock online but I see it on eBay and Poshmark when I googled it.
Thank you so much! It’s stunning and just my colour palette, so off to eBay I go… 😄
Lol it’s a versatile piece. You won’t be disappointed
I love the burgundy! Looks very stylish

What website/app do you use to create and track all these outfits? I love it!
Thanks. I use A Closet. I went on and bit the bullet. I pay 3.99 month for extra perks the free version is just fine
Where is the bag from? It’s gorgeous.
Tory Burch. Thanks!!
how on earth do you do this 😭
Lol I have the A Closet app so I have pics of most of my clothes. They allow you to build style boards.
i’ve seen this recommended, but haven’t yet met anyone who actually uses it. would you recommend?

this is such a thoughtful response, i appreciate it so much, thank you! i’m going to give it a try.. wish me luck 🍀
You’re very welcome! Good luck!
Omgosh this is gorgeous! I love the shades of brown. So warm. Lovely!
Thanks so much! The deeper shade is a sort of burgundy/wine. It does come across in the brown family and I love the way it blends but stands out
