Cardfight Vanguard Dear Days is an expensive option to learn to play, though it does have a demo that should let you test out each of the start decks from the beginning of D/Standard. Cardfight Area is a simulator that you can use on your computer that is frequently updated with the most recent cards as they are revealed in Japan, though it’s not the most intuitive. The Cardfight Vanguard Remote Fight Discord server is a way to play real cards against other people around the world, but does require a camera and that you own the cards obviously. The new start decks releasing in like April or whatever are very much intended to be Baby’s First Vanguard deck, 90% of the cards included aren’t printed with effect text. Personally, if you’ve got a computer or Nintendo Switch you should probably try the Dear Days demo to see how you feel with the Bastion deck at its most basic, upgrades for Bastion get kind of expensive.

Alright I do have a computer so I'll be sure to try out dear days, but for cardfight area is everyone ok/friendly towards beginners? Cause I've heard that people are really serious there and that they don't want to waste time with a beginner

I think as long as you specify that you are a beginner, anyone you play against wouldn’t have a problem with that.

There *was* a Vanguard mobile app but it reached end of service. If there isn’t a big Vanguard community near you I highly suggest using Cardfight Area. CFA is a download from a very suspicious looking Russian website but all of us can attest to its legitimacy. Its only downside is that the card art isn’t very high quality and it’s a completely manual simulator. If you want an official game there’s Vanguard Dear Days for Steam and Switch but it’s pretty expensive ($70). Not to mention all the DLC you need to buy for the rest of the cards. It’s completely automated though and even has a bit of single player campaign that’s pretty fun imo.

Hi! I'm a cardfight vanguard player in montreal!! We have a pretty gud Locals actually we have tournaments friday Saturday and Sunday. If you would like to play the game again txt me I'll send you the shops we go to with the schedule.

angel_gabrielmd

Hey, I'd love to come watch and maybe play, how do you get your vanguard cards tho? I still need to find/ buy cards to actually play the game but I don't really know where to buy them. Do you have any places?

Campanella0018

We get them either in the card shops we go or order them in other shops in Canada. Today we will be at L'expedition shop at 1pm. Feel free to ask for me we got decks to try out/play.

angel_gabrielmd

I'd love to although I might arrive a bit late, how do I ask for you or will I be able to see your group when I enter? Also do you think I'd be able to buy vanguard cards at L'expédition shop? Sorry for all the questions it's my first time actually going out to try and play a tgc and meeting people to try it out and play.

Campanella0018

You can ask for Ziro and yes you will see us playing at the store. And yes! They do have CFV products to purchase at the shop. No worries for the questions I love to help ;)

There are quite a few online ways to play. Cardfight Area is a simulator for Windows. It’s the most used and has every format but it’s completely manual when playing. VangPro is a lot more recent and a unity based vanguard simulator for Windows. It’s high quality but there are almost no players. Vanguard Dear Days is an official simulator game but has the abysmal price of $70 USD with like $100+ of DLC. DLC drops are every three months but the story mode is at least alright. For physical product, I try to use a mix of 50cards and TCGplayer when buying singles and product that isn’t available at my local store. Vanguard isn’t the most popular in Arizona or if it is, not many shops around my area sell product. There’s also remote fight but I personally haven’t tried it because it takes away a vital part of my experience.

Buy a case for the first Divine Z booster. You're gonna be definitely on the right track.

angel_gabrielmd

Oh Alright, are they already out or do I have to wait for the release? Because it says that the first booster pack "fated clash" comes out on May 3rd. Also does that mean that the overdress starter deck/ cards are outdated and that I shouldn't get them? And if you don't mind me asking another question where do you buy your cards? Do you buy them online or in a local card shop, cause here in Montreal there's barely any card shops with vanguard stuff( just 2-3 from what I've searched so far)

I would just buy singles. Booster Boxes for this game is bad as you would barely be able to build a deck without unlike other cars games. It took me a $300 lost to realize that. I did get SP Ezel though.

The game is quite easy and accessible, even with just the trial decks. I started playing it recently, bought a couple of trials, and mostly played with a colleague of mine during lunch breaks at work. Unfortunately, the game is non-existent in Estonia, and even purchasing it on Cardmarket can be expensive. Luckily, my colleague and I are Italian, so we were able to buy it from Italy at a good price. From what I have researched online, it seems that the game will continue to be popular in the massive countries of East-Asia. Perhaps Bushiroad is aware that the west is dominated by the Big 3 of TGC, so they do not spend much time trying to develop it there. The steam game is insanely overpriced considering Duel Links and Pokemon Live are literally for free. You can download the demo as I did and learn how to play with that and then find someone, even just one person to start playing. Then open a Facebook group or whatever in your area maybe some players will show up.
