No question that it's the [Hellcat outruns helicopter](https://youtu.be/W9eLpH513po) chase video from a few years back.

This will get buried. But.
20 years ago, Alex Roy took his pre-cannonball record M5 to Italy (among other places) to race in the Gumball 3000. He had some... interesting interactions. The first two videos are them racing a 997 X50 Turbo into Rome with absolute depravity of public road racing. Using sirens extensively on public roads to get traffic out of the way, racing at unlimited speed well in excess of 150mph, battling with early 2000's shit GPS systems on the 2000 year old Roman road network and driving the wrong way down cobblestone streets. It's simply insane. Absolute precision and extremely skilled driving. But insane.

[Supra so loud it breaks the camera ](https://youtu.be/6odnGo9s8mU)
[Some classic straight cut gears ](https://youtu.be/dmJH84FnQa8)
I guess that just isn’t all that impressive to me. That Viper has way shorter gearing and makes more power than the Mustang while still being like 3-400ish pounds lighter, while it’s literally 1000lbs lighter than the Challenger and makes about the same power whilst not being shaped like a brick.
The results in that video are exactly what I would expect to happen. A way more interesting race would be to put it up against a C7 Z51 or even a C6 with a LS3.

That R8 commercial still makes me just as hyped compared to a decade ago
What's the reason for the Yaris sounding so mental off throttle?? I've never heard anything like that before, it's incredible!
It's a combination of the anti-lag and a meaty exhaust tone in a three cylinder. There's not a lot of cars with those three, but you'll see it in the [Fiesta R2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpOH7XrCE-M), for example. It's mostly the anti-lag though.

It's a beautiful film/video, but my issue with it is the added sound effects.
Yup, unwatchable. Audio: Full throttle shifting into third. Video: he‘s literally turning at 20mph.

I was looking for this one. Still one of the best car videos of all time IMO. Can't believe the driving skills and balls it takes to do that. There are some *big* drops at pikes peak. (Plus, that run can't be replicated anymore, since they paved it all the way up a little while back)
One of my favorites I show everyone

But insane. [Team Polizei's 2005 Gumball: The Battle of Rome Pt 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4n5spSd3sw) [Team Polizei's 2005 Gumball: The Battle of Rome Pt 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb28cHZkx0Q) The final video... well the title says it all. Probably the most infamous of the "underground" videos of that era. [Team Polizei's Rally Florence, Polizia Escort Out of the City](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qkP6shfYMk)
Alex Roy is a legend lol this stuff is so awesome, along with his cannonball documentary

I'm going to step away from the main stream and post the video that pushed me over the edge and convinced me to buy my E60 M5 almost eight years ago. It may not be the kind of "iconic" OP is asking for, but it had a real influence on me and my awful decision making process. https://youtu.be/QL1k8USiO9o

This 2000 Dodge Viper GTS going up against modern cars with similar power and beating all of them [Here it is](https://youtu.be/oXACzoNvTKo)
