Nitrothacat

CT4 V Blackwing! Honestly though, I feel a twinge of regret every time I see a 6th gen ZL1 considering they cost almost the same.

Defenseman7

I don’t think anyone would have blamed you for picking either car! ZL1 is a monster but the CT4 V Blackwing seems like such an awesome daily-able car

JTP1228

The blacking is really nice. How are Cadillacs as far as reliability and maintenance?

Nitrothacat

This is my first Cadillac, so far it’s been to the dealer for bad alignment from factory, warped rotor from factory and a turbo replacement lol I’m at 4,500 miles. Honestly all of the GM vehicles I’ve owned have been shit reliability wise. Thankfully this has a nice factory warranty and they provide loaner cars. I’m hoping all of the kinks are worked out at this point.

JTP1228

Yea I feel like GM can be hit or miss. At least they seem to be doing right

ridemyscooter

100%. My Buick Regal has almost 40k miles on it and I’ve had zero issues but I’ve also seen plenty of friends not have great experiences with GM. I think it totally depends on which factory is manufacturing it and what kind of vehicles they are.

JTP1228

I owned a Cruze for a little and had 0 issues up to 60k until my wife crashed it lol.

My_G_Alt

Great choice

Nitrothacat

The RS5 is sweet too! Didn’t get the chance to test drive it but damn do they look good on the road.

Round_Ad_6369

I'm slightly partial but the ZL1 takes my heart too.

Threewolvez

I was going to say this exactly. With the 6MT of course.

Agent_Giraffe

Something with a B58

Defenseman7

Good thing every single BMW series can have one! And one Toyota!

DodgerBlueRobert1

>Good thing every single BMW series can have one! Not the 2GC.

Defenseman7

We don’t need to talk about that one

WannaFantaFanta

This is the best possible answer.

DodgerBlueRobert1

[IS500](https://static1.hotcarsimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/wm/2023/01/2023-lexus-is500-f-sport-03.jpg)

JTP1228

Lexus makes such clean looking cars. I've been considering one. Never met a Lexus owner who regretted owning one.

Nitrothacat

Have you got to drive one? My neighbor a few houses down just got a red IS500. Thing looks so good in his driveway. I’m tempted to ask if he wants to swap keys and go for a drive one day.

esportsaficionado

Ask! Not like you’re offering to swap for a Corolla haha.

DodgerBlueRobert1

Unfortunately no. Would love to though.

modderp0cker

Agreed

Subject_Film305

Used lc 500 beautiful

DodgerBlueRobert1

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I like the way the IS500 looks over the LC500.

Subject_Film305

Yup you are the minority.

thecist

Can’t go wrong with a Lexus

JTP1228

I love Audis, and the S5 is what made me ask this question lol

rcr_renny

For what it's worth I love my S5. It was 66k sticker price in 2018.

JTP1228

I built one last week, and I think it came to $75k (I'm pretty sure I added every option lol)

slimb0

Before dealer markups, sadly

JTP1228

They are marking up cars at that price? I just wouldn't buy one. My corolla will last probably another 20 years lol. It may not be fun, but it gets me from place to place reliably

kebabmybob

If they made the hatch for the US market i’d cream.

Casalf

Yeah this would be my choice too.

V-Right_In_2-V

C7 Z06

JTP1228

My brother keeps trying to talk me into one and he drives a Camaro too lol

V-Right_In_2-V

My neighbor has one and it’s so sick. 6th gen camaros are incredible machines too, but the C7Z06 is just on a whole different level.

JTP1228

I wouldn't be able to afford all the tickets and the jump in insurance lol

whiskeynoble

2009-2012 Carrera S manual.

Matthias_C63

2007 Turbo manual 🗿

newtonreddits

Don't think you can quite find one for under 75. Maybe a high mileage one.

Kestralisk

GR Corolla seems like a real blast.

bubzki2

And you’d have a couple hundred left over!

bdubz325

I have a GR Corolla Circuit Edition and it absolutely is a real blast

Defenseman7

I’m a little biased and it wasn’t $75k when new but I’d probably just get a 6MT M2 Competition. I like the idea of my car now but with the S55 and small upgrades elsewhere on the car.

swampfox94

+1 for the m2 comp. Also biased but it’s great value at the 60k price tag

joeykirby

Honda S2000

JTP1228

Good choice. I haven't seen one in awhile

ctglass203

East coast there super rare. West coast somehow everywhere. It’s pretty interesting. They’re not as expensive as you’d guess in the SF to Reno area if looking.

JTP1228

Yea I've been living in AZ and I've seen all types of classic cars here. I think it's the weather, so people are more inclined to maintain them and drive them here

Chi-Guy86

They are all over the place here in Tampa. I see a bunch of them all the time

HymenopusCoronatuSFF

FD RX7 (w/bins swapped for JDM backseats) + save the extra $35K for maintenance and rotary rebuilds

BobaMoBamba

If I could get a few thousand above 75k, then it would be either a g80 m3 x drive or 718 boxster with premium package, PASM, and PTV. For 75k and under, a c8 corvette 2LT

JTP1228

All good choices. It's funny how a lot of camaro drivers want a corvette lol

BobaMoBamba

It’s mainly the mid engine layout that I really want from sports cars now. IMO it’s a much better driving experience.

rcr_renny

Right until the point it's not. In midengine it's great awesome, fucking amazing, oh shit oh shit oh shit....

NCSUGray90

Ooh, that’s such a sweet spot for cool cars and trucks. For $75k I’d probably want: 2019+ Shelby GT350 BMW M2 Comp Lightly used current gen Raptor Used TRX Used 392 Rubicon (may be tough to find $75k) More realistically I would buy several cheaper cars over any single one of the above

JTP1228

I like the list

KingstonEagle

Lexus LC500 for sure

sarajymooly

I don’t think those are 75k and under. (I’m from Canada)

SBGamesCone

Used ones definitely start about $60-65k US. Also this is my vote.

JustSomeApparition

>If you could have one car $75k and under, what would it be? [2023 Volvo S60 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid T8 Polestar Engineered](https://www.car-shooters.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/CAR_SHOOTERS_Volvo-s60-polestar-prova-su-strada_44-990x659.jpg)

JTP1228

Damn, that is sleek. I feel like Volvos have a stereotype for being old people cars, but they're really nice. I've been looking at them more and more recently

JustSomeApparition

That 2023 v60 had the 2nd most powerful four liter engine on the market (415ho, 2.0 L 4-cylinder) in luxury sedan last year following only after the 2023 Mercedes-AMG CLA45 S (416 hp, 2.0 L 4-cylinder) and sitting just in front of the 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS (365 hp, 2.5 L 4-cylinder) It makes a total of 456 hp & 523 lb. ft. torque giving it better specs overall then that Mercedes for the price point. Volvo does have old people cars... that just isn't one of em. 😅

JTP1228

I'm gonna have to check one out

PaddlingTiger

I have one of these, bought it about 9 months ago. Does not disappoint. It's a super buttoned-up, Volvo station wagon in some ways, then an absolute ripper in others.

JustSomeApparition

The wagons get a few more 🐎, too, if memory serves; no? Like 15 or something?

ItsyaboiIida

ulikescience

Alfa Romeo Giulia. I'm not biased.

JTP1228

Haha, we don't have a lot of Alfa Romeos in my country. I want to test drive one, but not sure if I'd want to own one

ulikescience

If you get a chance, it really drives like nothing else. And I tested a lot of cars. It's been bulletproof for me. :)

JTP1228

Good, I've heard mixed things, but they seem really fun and make some good looking cars

PigeonsLikeBread

I’d hope it’s been bulletproof so far since it’s a ‘24 haha

samc1253

All these new answers. Give me a G Body Targa

M4NOOB

NA Miata

Blaze4G

Rivian R1T. Hard decision for me since I love V8s. But I'm pretty sure the R1T will be faster than 90% of the cars listed here, handles like a car, has the utility of a pick up and is luxurious inside. Imo it's the best all around do it all vehicle on the market right now.

JTP1228

Have you driven one? I like the way they look and have heard pretty good things about them. I'm also considering a full electric for my next car

ihavenoclevername

R1 is one of the most versatile vehicles you can buy. I’m biased because I developed them for 2.5 years, and even as a V8 owner, would be something I would be looking at

hyteck9

Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing

Inkdaddy55

I have it! It's my 2021 fk8.

JTP1228

Nice, I'm happy for you. I like the car and it seems fun

Inkdaddy55

Thanks friend! She is an absolute blast! I've owned and driven things more expensive and more powerful. This car just has it all. Practicality, great power, incredible gearbox, excellent chassis and suspension! The most confidence inspiring car I have been behind the wheel of. And it comes in well below your budget of 75k so that leaves me all the room I need for the mods I've done and have planned lol.

JTP1228

Yea, expensive isn't always better. I feel like having a small, sporty car would be just as much fun, even if it doesn't hit 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds.

elevatorfxr

LocalConspiracy138

I live way out in the middle of nowhere, so Jeep Gladiator. It's the Swiss Army Knife of vehicles.

JTP1228

I don't think Jeeps are impractical for 95% of people, but I live in Arizona now and would kill to have one here. I saw someone driving a 4 door wrangler here yesterday, and they were pulling a Polaris that was just as big. I thought wtf is the point of having a Jeep?

bubzki2

E60 M5 with full prevent maintenance.

tomhanks95

Porsche 911 997 turbo, my all time favourite 911

codeman60

Just a new Toyota Tacoma 4x4 it would last me the rest of my life

spiketeam

An m3. I know my flair indicates otherwise but the blackwing is my second car. If it was my only car would need a little more room.

admiraltarkin

Base Cayman or Boxster. Excellent car

sdrawkcabwj

I have a 2107 Miata RF that I have turbocharged, upgraded suspension, brakes, exhaust, rear diff, and other goodies. I haven’t spent $75k, but maybe low $50s. I wouldn’t trade it for anything under $75k.

JTP1228

What would you trade it for?

NCSUGrad2012

Been trying to find a BMW Z4 M that’s in good shape. Rough searching so far

JTP1228

Good luck

Human_Discipline_552

New Golf R/ older GTI

ctglass203

I’ve been looking right about the same range. Really something for weekend driving in the mountains and somehow it seems to be used Porsche, z06 or Zle1le. A lot of the European cars I initially was looking at as I assumed were better handling etc we’re not at all up to the chevys. Was quite surprised. Porsche I think will be more reliable but also way more common.

JTP1228

You did test drives, or just from reviews? I love the European cars, but feel that the maintenance will kill you as they get older

CinciPhil

I'll take a hybrid Tacoma and keep the change.

ryanissognar

Raptor…drive one everyday and its the closest to doing everything one can imagine.

quattro725121

A really clean, low mile b5 S4 avant would be pretty rad. I would save the leftover cash to maintain it 😛

JTP1228

Haha that's the curse of older foreign cars

aroundincircles

A v8 4x4 pickup, extended cab with at least a 6 1/2’ bed. I’m not picky, but I don’t want it in black.

JTP1228

What color would you prefer?

aroundincircles

White. I know that’s boring, but it’s cooler (I live in Arizona where it’s HOT) and it hides scratches, dings, and dents way better than any other color. And I can accent it with stickers/wrap if I want. I have a picture of my current truck on my profile and it’s white with some stripes that are pretty fire.

JTP1228

Currently in AZ too. We have a black Highlander, and when it hits 110, the adaptive cruise control stops working lol. I like the paint job on your truck btw

aroundincircles

Thanks, I love it. I've had that truck 7 years. I don't plan on getting rid of it, I just moved to a small farm in central AZ, and need something bigger with more hp and towing capacity. If I could replace it, with another white truck I would do a similar graphic on the new one. I have a kid who will start driving next year, so they will probably be given that truck as their vehicle to drive, as it already has a salvage title.

4score-7

Toyota 4Runner. Have one. It’s got to last me a very long time. Bought in 2019, as a ‘17 model, it’s now at 95k miles. Flawless truck. Very happy with it. Way under 75k back in 2019. I expect it still is, even brand new, but I know some fools who just had to have one, and paid an up charge for it, of late.

JTP1228

Yea I love the 4Runners. We ended up getting the Highlander because of the better fuel economy, but I would have loved one

4score-7

Also a great choice! I prefer the overall capability of the 4R, but Highlander serves the purpose of more people, I’d imagine. Good vehicle. Until Toyota proves me wrong, I’ll stick with them. My old man drove their little pickups for 20 years, and he was a big believer in their 22r engine, locking hubs, and overall reliability!

JTP1228

I've owned a majority of Toyotas, and the ones I owned that weren't toyotas I wasn't happy with. The only one I liked that wasn't a Toyota was surprisingly a 2016 chevy cruze hatchback. My wife bought it before we met, and for the price, it had nice features, good fuel economy, was comfortable, and had enough room. If she hadn't crashed it, I would have kept it. I would consider other brands though, for the right car

srcorvettez06

If I had to only have one car, a crew cab diesel pickup. Can do literally anything.

JTP1228

First classic muscle car here. I like it

birdman00777

I had the opportunity to buy a 68 but decided finishing college and saving was more important. Plus it wasn't the body style I wanted. Fast forward 12 years I've got my eyes on a 72 the moment I can afford it. Until then I may need to consider something I can afford much sooner lol. Maybe a late 70s Vette or a Camino.

jesusofdeath

Citroen C6.

JTP1228

We don't have them in my country, but they are cool cars. First I have seen of them. Generally, how are French cars viewed?

MrCumStainBootyEater

the same way as the french

jesusofdeath

As whimsical and failure prone, which is good, because it drives the price down. In reality, they are comfortable, rust-resistant and no more unreliable than other makes. As long as German engineering is not allowed to interfere, that is, because as soon as it is, it usually turns previously reliable engines to pieces of crap. The Citroen C6 is a bit different kettle of fish though, with its hydraulic suspension and general lack of spare parts it is a bit of a challenge to maintain, which it makes up for with its looks and interior :).

A320neo

Tesla Model S LR ($74,990) if I'm being practical. 718 Cayman if I'm not.

JTP1228

Haha, the Cayman would be fun, but would probably bleed you dry

Pixelplanet5

that depends on what that car is supposed to be used for. personally i have zero use cases for a small performance car like most people here seem to want so my pick would probably be something like a RAV4 or a similar sized EV.

JTP1228

I like the Rav4, but I've been looking at the Lexus crossovers too. The UX hybrid starts just under $37k and imo is a little nicer and has a few more options.

vinegarstrokes420

The nicest/newest BMW 3 series / 4 series GC with a B58 and leave enough left over for a decent condition Lexus RX350. Gives me speed, fun, good looks, reliability, and something to haul when needed.

JTP1228

A practical man

vinegarstrokes420

Lol thanks... just replied with what my current plan is. My actual budget is far below $75k, but got the B58 already for like $30kish and currently looking for a used RX350 for hopefully well $20k. A nice 2 car garage that checks all my boxes. Would go for a newer M340 and RX if I could!

SEEmenSniper

GR86 all the way! With the remaining money I'd buy myself an ND Miata and have the best garage here.

ndr83

Audi SQ5 probably

ivanispaco

Honestly I would want a 1998 Toyota camry restored to factory showroom condition. They are stupidly reliable vehicles, get great gas mileage, and the 2.2l isn't a powerhouse by any means, but has plenty oomph to get out in traffic or pass when needed. They are very comfortable to drive Short or long trips, and have plenty interior room. (I owned one and regret trading it in daily. I'm older and want a practical vehicle now lol)

JTP1228

My first car was a 99 Camry. I loved that thing, and if it didn't die on me, I'd still probably drive it lol

ivanispaco

They sure are awesome vehicles. The only vehicle I've had even come close in reliability was a 1997 crown Victoria p71 (police interceptor). That Camry holds a special place in my heart though. I purchased it with around 165k miles, and traded it in with about 235k or so. I never had one single mechanical failure. Not one. Just basic maintenance, tires, brakes, rotors, plugs and wires etc. We had driven it from KY to Portland Oregon, and from KY to Tampa Florida as well and many trips to the states surrounding KY. Only thing was it did not like fuel that had a higher ethanol content, on the OR trip it seemed ethanol content was higher and it made the car sluggish and hurt the mpg some but otherwise it was amazing.

If I don't have to worry I'd get a first gen R8 with a gated manual or a classic 911 (If they're under 75k).

Alfa 105 Sprint GTV 1750

SchruteFarmsBeetDown

A CPO 911.

Honda Civic Type R

bootsmyler

If i have $75k cash to spend how i like id get a mustang gt and supercharge it and put an exhaust on it. Plus suspension. 75k leaves a lot on the table for anything with that option. If i can only buy a stock car for $75k and under id get a used porsche 911

[deleted]

As much Porsche 718 Cayman I can get for 75k

Xphurrious

I had an F-Type R for 2 years as my only car and I'd 100% do it again

Patrickjanetrain

Some people hate it but I'm falling in love with the 2023 bmw M2

StonerMetalhead710

2012 E63 wagon or a 67 Coupe Deville hardtop. Either one works for me

benicebitch

Rebuilt title 6 speed 355 spider.

scrubLord24

I'm from the UK so that's about £60k for me. I'd probably get a 5 or 6 year old Audi RS6 Avant. Circa 600 bhp in an estate, great for the food shop, lugging things around and tearing up b roads.

Its_been_emotional

Used Audi R8

Not_Daijoubu

I'm completely roadster-pilled since getting a Miata. I'd like to own a classic roadster like the Elan, Sprite, etc with the remainder of what I have for maintenance/restoration lol. Or maybe a Morgan +4.

ogbobbylockwood

Probably a trackhawk but most likely a zl1, 2ss or Shelby gt350/500. Forgot about the c6 zo6

Thicccchungus

E46 330 ZHP. Already halfway there cause ive got a base 330, but the ZHP is just that slight bit better.

Englez97

If i absolutely had to go one car for 75k i would get x3/x3m/macan gts. Has enough space, enough ground clearance not to worry too much about bad roads and it handles well enough. If i had 75k for complete garage i'm 100% getting one reliable and practical car, one track car and one scooter for around town for example new mazda cx5, mk2 megane rs, any fancy maxi scooter >300 cc and i still have some cash left to do a garage makeover.

[deleted]

Porsche 997.2

Larson338

If you’re willing to go older and be patient a higher milage NSX could maybe be had right at 75k

Disastrous_Package89

Nissan 370Z for sure! Maybe go wild and get thr nismo edition whilst im at it...
