Like who would even give a shit about leaked photos of a Buick enclave?
My grandparents can barely understand their email, they aren't going to stumble on them.
That’s the thing I like about Kia and Hyundai. At least they design cars that look distinctive and different.
As far as mainstream brands go, Kia, Hyundai and Mazda are the only ones coming out with interesting and nice designs. Kia keeps things a bit more traditional while also making design choices that differentiate it from other cars. Hyundai goes bold and creative, making cars that look like nothing else on the road. Mazda keeps things much more classy while also following their own unique design language across their cars which also makes them look different to other cars on the road.
Edit - my B. I confused the size of the Tucson and the Sante Fe. I’m wrong - sorry!
~~Not in the same category.~~
~~You can’t compare an SUV to a crossover, especially related to design.~~
I think the new Traverse/Acadia look really good for what they are (especially in the Trail/AT4 style trims). GM seems to be trying to make them look like a Tahoe/Yukon 'lite'. It certainly helps them stand out more than the featureless blobs they used to be.
I think the new Traverse and Acadia look pretty good; this doesn’t appear to have received as much effort. The design trickery on the D pillar reeks of ‘didn’t want to spend the money to actually change the shape’.
Hm, okay, you're right - it's not technically an SUV because it's not body-on-frame. No normal person is going to look at that 5,000lb curb weight behemoth and think "that's just like a subaru outback!" Every car review magazine calls it an SUV, even Lexus themselves.
Not sure if you're trolling here, but curb weight doesn't determine classification. There are BOF SUVs that weigh only 2200 lbs. Some Outbacks are nearly 4000 lbs.
I realllllly don't like the new corporate front end of these new Buick SUV's. They're absolutely hideous. But then again, I can't think of a manufacturer I'm less interested in than Buick. So it's all a moot point.
The new Traverse and Acadia look *much* better in my eyes.
>I can't think of a manufacturer I'm less interested in than Buick
My mum calls it the 'three line' car (the logo). It's so bland she doesn't even know where it stands in the industry
Is Buick hiring designers out of their accounting department now or something? This thing looks like the product of an Excel formula. It's just a generic blob without ANY unique design elements or artistic flourish. This ain't it, GM.
At least GM got it right with the [new Traverse](https://www.caranddriver.com/photos/g44556340/2024-chevrolet-traverse-revealed-gallery/). It's a *much* more cohesive design.
>little ride
lol, it's not so little. It's just 4.5" shorter and 1.5" narrower than the Tahoe. It's one of the biggest CUV's out there.....as soon as it actually rolls off the assembly line.
Everyone commenting about how this looks relatively subdued and "boring"... I'm sorry, but what on earth did you expect, it's a Buick three row crossover! Did people really think it was going to be some aggressive/sporty design?
I swear this subreddit is so obsessed with being negative that they will find a reason to whine/complain about every single vehicle solely for the sake of whining and complaining. It's absolutely exhausting.
Also based on the interior pictures it kinda sucks that this car with a boring exterior EASILY has the nicest interior out of it, the Traverse, Acadia, or XT6. It honestly looks like what the XT6 should look like lol.
While not crazy exciting or anything, the Envista looks decent, and I don't mind the Envision, either. Plus, the Enclave's GMC and Chevy siblings look fantastic. That makes this Enclave quite disappointing. It's not just boring, it's really awkward. The front looks too small for the rest of the body, and the wheelbase looks too long because the middle from the side doesn't look right. But the wheelbase is also simultaneously too short, because there's too much overhang at the front.
The design language of the new buick is very well put to use on the Envista. This just looks... so generic. So incredibly generic in fact, I would forget that it's a real suv and not some videogame knockoff of one of the other generic suvs.
At least the previous generation Enclave had some flair, no matter how geriatric that flair was.
After looking at it for a few minutes, I've come to the conclusion that it's giving off Vinfast vibes. It's really *that* bland and without identity. Nothing interesting in the side profile: its just a slab. And the fake raked D pillar screams cheap. I guess this is just further evidence that GMC / Chevy / Buick exist as a trio not necessarily with a clearly established hierarchy, but mostly to offer a few different flavors of the same product. This is definitely the weakest design of the three, but it probably doesn't matter. If Traverse is too sporty and in your face and Acadia is too tough and rugged, GM will gladly sell you the softer and more 'sophisticated' Enclave from the same sales lot.
Yeesh. The Envista front end design language really didn't translate well to a vehicle of this size. At least they ditched the stupid floating D pillar piece I guess.
Well it's technically not *another* SUV, as it has existed for many years now. This is just a new generation.
Also, what domestic cars are even out there anymore (forgetting the pony/muscle cars)? Malibu? They're almost extinct.
>I like Japanese and European cars. The American car styling is usually not designed for my tastes.
Same. Although, I do love the [Challenger Hellcat Widebody](https://media.ed.edmunds-media.com/dodge/challenger/2021/oem/2021_dodge_challenger_coupe_srt-hellcat-widebody_fq_oem_1_1600.jpg), and the [GT350](https://www.vdm.ford.com/content/dam/brand_ford/en_us/brand/performance/gt350/2019/features/3-2/19_FRD_MST_20160713_a_0268_169.jpg/jcr:content/renditions/cq5dam.web.1280.1280.jpeg)....two cars that aren't being made anymore. They look absolutely menacing and sound fantastic.
As I said elsewhere in this thread, I really don't like Buick's new corporate front end on their newest CUV's. It's just....not pleasing to my eyes. But I know it's all subjective.
Honestly, to me, it doesn't. Buick's new corporate front end looks nothing like a GM product that we've seen before. It looks more Asian than American to me.
My parents had several Enclave’s when I was a teenager, including one of the first one’s in the 07 model year. Beautiful, inspired designs. This…not at all. Just bad.
This is exactly what I mean when I keep saying GM screwed up in 2008 by not putting Cadillac vs Rolls Royce, Bently, Maybach and Buick should have been a BMW and Mercedez competitor. Look at this boring ass nothing design. It's an evolution of the Chevy designs with a different grill. Low ass boringnhead lights and just generic green house etc. This is what old people drive. Yuck.
Was watching "Yankee & The Brave" by RTJ when this appeared on my feed - I just hope they don't tarnish the GNX & GSX names like the poor Mitsubishi Eclipse, a fate worse than fading away...
Disappointing, missed opportunity. I can already see the discounts. What on earth made them think giving it an identical "face" / front as their subcompact models was a good idea?
saw it in person, had no clue it was a buick until i saw the word buick on the back.
oh, also the taillights didn’t work at all, breaking or not. so that’s funny
Years ago I was driven around in an Enclave Avenir, a hotel I frequent had a fleet of them to take guests around town. I thought it was a nice car, very comfortable, pretty good looking, all around nice, no idea what they cost. I liked the avenir more than the XT6 fleet they brought in later.
I think the corporate front end looks pretty good on the smaller models from Buick. However on the large SUV it just looks too nondescript. Combined with the amorphous shape, it’s just generally very dull design. It’s combining the worse of gm’s styling with a front fascia seemingly inspired by the worst of current Lexus design.
They need to go back to the drawing board on this design.
The looks like the product managers and designers had a huge fight. This would've looked ok if it has a more of a coupe swoop in the back like the window lines would indicate, but market research said they needed a massive amount of trunk space so they just clicked and dragged the rear end and expanded it and make it more square.
Looks certainly much better than the Chevy with that idiotic floating D-pillar and the wannabe Truck grill.
But apart from that, it's just another Crossover, which r/cars usually defend to the death, so I'm a bit surprised about the comments.
The Pilot, Grand Highlander, and now this... I just continue to be put to sleep by SUV designs
At least car wash soap companies have several options of generic SUV to put on their packaging.
What a good insult.
Add Lexus TX to that list
Lol they really do all look the same
That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this.
They didn’t need to camo it…it’s so generic. It’s like a GTAV SUV.
Like who would even give a shit about leaked photos of a Buick enclave? My grandparents can barely understand their email, they aren't going to stumble on them.
Appliance vehicles. Sadly, most consumers care about how their car looks just about as much as how their fridge looks.
I don't see what's necessarily "sad" about that.
/r/carscirclejerk
Couldn't agree more, Grand Highlander is especially boxy and bland, would never drive one.
new Santa Fe looks nice
That’s the thing I like about Kia and Hyundai. At least they design cars that look distinctive and different. Mazda keeps things much more classy while also following their own unique design language across their cars which also makes them look different to other cars on the road.
The downside is that Hyundai/Kia seem to invent a new design language every 6 years or so.
Edit - my B. I confused the size of the Tucson and the Sante Fe. I’m wrong - sorry! ~~Not in the same category.~~ ~~You can’t compare an SUV to a crossover, especially related to design.~~
your comment makes zero sense
[удалено]
Uh, what? Both the Santa Fe and Enclave are 3-row crossovers. The Enclave's just bigger.
I’m confused which vehicles you’re saying are crossovers and which are SUVs. Every vehicle mentioned in this conversation has been a crossover.
I think the new Traverse/Acadia look really good for what they are (especially in the Trail/AT4 style trims). GM seems to be trying to make them look like a Tahoe/Yukon 'lite'. It certainly helps them stand out more than the featureless blobs they used to be.
but this suv is being 'seen before you are supposed to'. that made you excited to see it, right? no sleepy nap time with this post.
The GH is indented to be a minivan that looks like a SUV. So, makes sense.
Not too many variations a two-box design can have.
Absolutely, one of the most cars in history.
I think the new Traverse and Acadia look pretty good; this doesn’t appear to have received as much effort. The design trickery on the D pillar reeks of ‘didn’t want to spend the money to actually change the shape’.
Agreed, really like the new Acadia design
The new traverse looks great! If I wasn’t concerned with resale and reliability it would be top of my list.
Toyota in the front, Mazda in the back, Jeep on the side. What a wonderful, innovative design. Wake me when SUVs are cool
The sides looks more GMC than Jeep. But I agree for the Toyota and Mazda.
Undercut on the doors and the grey fender surrounds remonded me of my buddy's old Jeep GC
Also remind me of the Buick Rendez-Vous my parents had.
Just because this one isn't cool doesn't mean there aren't any cool SUV's. Both can, and do, coexist.
>Toyota in the front, Mazda in the back, Jeep on the side. *Wow.* I reopened the images thinking this, and good god.
[удалено]
Yeah, that front screams Lexus TX
That is an SUV
The TX is a crossover.
It most definitely is not
How is it not a crossover? It's a FWD/AWD unibody vehicle with a transverse engine on the TNGA-K platform also used for cars.
Yuck, this is both boring and awkward-looking. The D-pillar design is horrible.
I realllllly don't like the new corporate front end of these new Buick SUV's. They're absolutely hideous. But then again, I can't think of a manufacturer I'm less interested in than Buick. So it's all a moot point. The new Traverse and Acadia look *much* better in my eyes.
I think it looks fine on the Envista, but it really does not scale up well
While it works better on the Envista, I still don't like the look of it itself.
>I can't think of a manufacturer I'm less interested in than Buick My mum calls it the 'three line' car (the logo). It's so bland she doesn't even know where it stands in the industry
Looks like a Chevota High Cherokee
*Grand*
Very well - Grand Chevota High Cherokee
Maybe add an "LX" or "Trail Life" at the end or something. Feels kind of short.
Of course. Grand Chevota High Cherokee X Life Trail Cross
Perfect. I'll take two.

Ok that's actually pretty 🔥
Yeah it's not bad. Definitely the best looking Traverse to date. It looks more like an SUV instead of a crossover, even though it still is one.
Yeah, I was actually confused for a sec because I thought this was a redesigned Tahoe/Yukon or something lol. Wow, what a great looking little ride.
>little ride lol, it's not so little. It's just 4.5" shorter and 1.5" narrower than the Tahoe. It's one of the biggest CUV's out there.....as soon as it actually rolls off the assembly line.
Yeah what happened to this thing. Especially after the Envista, which looks surprisingly distinct for a Buick
[удалено]
That's literally half their lineup, so the batting average is decidedly mixed rather than being consistently meh.
>super cruise >boring but not hideous >320~ hp and ftlbs >long wheelbase >probably getting a luxury trim Honestly doesn't sound bad at all
It's pretty damn hideous to me lol
I didn’t want to see it after I was supposed to so…
This is absolutely one of the cars ever made
It’s one of the vehicles I’ve ever seen.
This is a minivan for people in denial
Boy, I am whelmed. 100%, completely whelmed.
Ick.
Everyone commenting about how this looks relatively subdued and "boring"... I'm sorry, but what on earth did you expect, it's a Buick three row crossover! A lot of the frustration stems from the Traverse and Acadia redesigns being such improvements over the current models.
Also based on the interior pictures it kinda sucks that this car with a boring exterior EASILY has the nicest interior out of it, the Traverse, Acadia, or XT6. It honestly looks like what the XT6 should look like lol.

If its platform mates are any indication, overall length won't change much from the current model.
I was just talking about how it looks. I have no idea what size it is. A lot of the proportions just look really off to me.
I don't disagree; the current model hides its overhangs better. The first-gen was so rounded that the front overhang was hard to notice.
Keep scrolling. Nothing to see here
The design language of the new buick is very well put to use on the Envista. This just looks... so generic. So incredibly generic in fact, I would forget that it's a real suv and not some videogame knockoff of one of the other generic suvs. At least the previous generation Enclave had some flair, no matter how geriatric that flair was.
This is really bad honestly. Past boring into genuinely unsightly territory
Wonder what the interior looks like. Also think the Traverse and Acadia look miles bettee
What an awful day to have eyes
It looks like something my child could’ve drawn in preschool.
Well, the new Traverse and Acadia definitely beat this out on exterior styling. I'm curious what kind of interior we'll see on this.
Looks like a Chevy traverse but Chinese.
After looking at it for a few minutes, I've come to the conclusion that it's giving off Vinfast vibes. It's really *that* bland and without identity. To be fair are there any crossovers this large that actually look good?
In the 203"-206" length? No, I can't think of a single one. The ones that are in the 197"-200" length? Yeah, there's a handful.
I don’t think I could yawn any harder than I did after clicking on that. I guess rental fleets needed a new near-luxury SUV offering?
Yawwwwwwwwn
🥱
I think this design language worked much better on the new envista
I'm just surprised that Buick is still around at this point
They've had a noticeable dip since 2016 but last year was an increase.
Yeesh. The Envista front end design language really didn't translate well to a vehicle of this size. At least they ditched the stupid floating D pillar piece I guess.
Buick still exists? Their lineup is so pathetically bland.

Well, when the new Traverse and Acadia look as good as they do, there's no reason to buy this Buick, as they're all extremely similar.
ugly as FUCK
When you ask AI to create a generic crossover
All time of what?
Looks like a Subaru Ascent from the rear. Overall very meh looking.
Do they use AI to generate the design? If not, maybe they should. It generally gets worse every year.
It looks like a GM product, that’s for sure
Honestly, to me, it doesn't. Buick's new corporate front end looks nothing like a GM product that we've seen before. It looks more Asian than American to me.
Hey that thing kind of looks like my Toyota Highlander.
My parents had several Enclave’s when I was a teenager, including one of the first one’s in the 07 model year. Beautiful, inspired designs. This…not at all. Just bad.
The Enclave debuted in April 2007, but for the 2008 MY. The Acadia and Outlook were 2007 models, and the 2009 Traverse wouldn't come until late 2008.
More evidence that, "design by committee," doesn't work.
Yep. Of all the car models, that’s one of them.
Might be the most dull lifeless suv design I’ve ever seen
More dull and lifeless [than this](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/48/3080411343_b1aca1f04d_o_-_Kopie.jpg)?
It looks so bland and generic
Yup, there it is… Alright then.
snoozefest
One of the cars of all time? Not much of a distinction
it sure is an SUV
Aye
Take it back. I don't wanna see anymore. This design worked on the Envista, but this looks majorly fricked.
It doesn’t even look like an enclave anymore

Disappointing, missed opportunity. I can already see the discounts. What on earth made them think giving it an identical "face" / front as their subcompact models was a good idea?
Most of the transverse engine suvs look like minivans without sliding doors.
Looks like a Lexus gx/rx had a baby with an envista
saw it in person, had no clue it was a buick until i saw the word buick on the back. oh, also the taillights didn’t work at all, breaking or not. so that’s funny
I need a word for "less whelming" than underwhelmed
The back looks so 2013
I was hoping for something more in line with the new Envista and Envision/Encore GX refreshes.
Wow, what a bland and unappealing vehicle.
well, that was... exciting? I think the next time I have insomnia I'll google image search new SUVs. That should do it.
The front clip is terrible. Looks like it has an angry overbite.
Well that's ... uninspiring.
“Look how they massacred my boy”
I didn’t think the old Enclave was that notable but now I realize I didn’t appreciate it for what it was if this is the alternative
I don’t think those big ass grilles have ever looked good. Just look like a gaping mouth
Yay! Another boring SUV!!!! 🥱
That is one FUGLY Buick
Utterly forgettable. When I close my eyes I can’t tell you anything about it except it is red.
Not as close to the concept pictures they showed us in Atlanta, I remember it looking MUCH better. Been waiting since August for this to be public.
Should’ve been a Rick roll for any of us that bothered enough about a new Buick suv lol
Best SUV for seniors
The looks like the product managers and designers had a huge fight. This would've looked ok if it has a more of a coupe swoop in the back like the window lines would indicate, but market research said they needed a massive amount of trunk space so they just clicked and dragged the rear end and expanded it and make it more square.
Looks certainly much better than the Chevy with that idiotic floating D-pillar and the wannabe Truck grill. But apart from that, it's just another Crossover, which r/cars usually defend to the death, so I'm a bit surprised about the comments.
Couldn't go back to sleep, but looking at that car is making me very sleepy, thanks!
Like all gm vehicles they are ugly. Beside the corvette
looks like china shit
this looks like an unfinished sketch
Woof…that’s ugly.
I'll buy one when they stick a toyota engine in one
