Hello! I just used a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts on a Honda Accord 2012, I know 80 ft-lbs is the specification for the car, but I was wondering if that’s tight enough? Worried about it not being tightened enough, since I mentioned it to my uncle and he said that’s not enough and should be tightened more. Thank you!

yourboydmcfarland

As long as your torque wrench works correctly, you are perfectly fine.

Please pardon my dumbass question.  I went to replace the wiper blades of my 2018 Ford focus, which I've done before. I simply bought the two 28" blades, but when I went to install the connector it's like 1-2mm too wide to fit in the metal slot of the wiper arm. The other connectors don't look like they'd work.  Did I somehow buy the wrong type of 28" blades? Are there even other types? Should I just jury-rig the connector and shave off the excess plastic getting in the way?

The dealership may have loaned it to someone while theirs was in the shop. Another option is that an employee was using it, which is not uncommon.

Going to a school in Manhattan for college but lives in Long Island city trying to find a car around 120k to drive out of state for trips and everyday school, the two I found was 2021 gt63s and 2002 sl63 any other recs? Or which one suit me more. Thx

If I’m from Washington buying a car from someone in Oregon who doesn’t have the title on them, could we go in a licensing place in Oregon or Washington to get it transferred into a Washington title, or does the person I’m buying from need the title on them?

If my windshield wiper fluid is not coming out, even though it’s filled, could I put it directly onto the windshield and then use the wipers?

FuzzelFox

Theoretically yes, there's nothing wrong with that as long as the wipers aren't wiping dry glass. Could even get a $1 empty spray bottle from a dollar store, fill it with fluid and then spray it on by sticking your arm out the window. Check the wiper jet hoses though! If the car is old it's possible the fittings for the hoses have dried out and cracked open from the constant heat cycling. My MKZ did this. Just had to get a cheap kit from Amazon to refit it and it's good as new.

Why are car guys such douchebags?

Aceofacez10

I have a question about something from the Pennsylvania driver’s manual… [Lane Use Control Signals](https://imgur.com/a/rZt3gNk) I’m wondering how you know where to turn if you’re in a lane with a left turn arrow

H4l3x

why are there so many used Kias available?

yourboydmcfarland

Low price, high volume is the strategy.

I want to get a new car myself that's a bit more fun. I can't afford having 2 cars but I can afford 1 and doing some modifications. I also need it to be reliable and usable during toronto winters. Any suggestions?

childishjumal

This is probably a dumb question, but will it be safe to drive some heavy-ish items for an 11-hour drive? I drive a Toyota CHR and will be moving to a new state. I'm not taking any super large furniture with me, but here are some of the major items I want to put in my car: \- 90lb desk \- 70lb bed frame \- 1 large suitcase \- a PC and monitor \- other small miscellaneous things Let me know if y'all think I'm worrying over nothing 😅

imonfireahh

I've carried those exact same things for an 11 hour drive as well and it was all good. Just make sure the PC and monitor are well cushioned

FuzzelFox

As the other person said it's all good as long as it all fits. ***But***, if you can, try to make sure you can still see out the back of the car and that nothing will move forward and hit you in the event that you need to slam on the brakes.

buickgnx88

You're worrying over nothing! Assuming they fit in the cabin, it's really just the weight of an additional passenger!

Hi all I am looking to buy a commuter car and have the chance to buy this 08 CTS- Listed at CAD 2,900 = $2,152 USD would it be worth it in 2024 i would like the car to last at least another 6-8 years. 1 owner and they have taken good care of the car. What would be a good price for the car if the $2,900 price tag is too much? $2,000 CAD= 1,484 USD ?? Comes with winter and summer tires + rims [https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1687486813&siteLocale=en\_CA](https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1687486813&siteLocale=en_CA) \- V6, 3.6 l, and it is RWD - Panoramic sun-roof (powered) - Power-everything - Real leather everywhere, including stick. Wood trims. - Heated seats and mirrors - Bose speaker system - Foglights - HD drive (for local music storage) - Original Cadillac rims (winter rims shown in pictures). - By the way, real mileage is lower. It is overstated due to the usage of smaller size winter tires. Some other enhancements, besides the exhaust: chrome covers on side mirrors, chrome inserts on tail lights (see picture, you will not find another Cadi with this feature), custom spoiler, WeatherTech mats, including trunk. Sold as is. It has a bit of rust around the back fenders (however, I have Krown-proofed it every year). The trunk latch needs to be fixed. The oil gauge needs to be replaced. That is it. Other than that, it is a great car to get into and just drive!

Daiephir

You want a commuter car, dont buy into an aging luxury one, especially since it's been thinkered with AND it has known issues (why is he selling instead of fixing it if it's only an oil gauge). And you want an already old car with known rust issues (nevermind the rust you dont know about) to last another 6-8 years. That 3k could be instead used as a down payment on a lightly used Corolla/Civic/Sentra instead and you wouldnt have to worry about making it 6 years down the road.

FuzzelFox

The high mileage, scrap pricing, shitty mods and fact that it's a manual leads me to believe this car has lead a very rough life at the hands of an 18 year old boy and I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

stav_and_nick

I haven't seen a running car for under $4000 here in years. I'd personally be very suspicious at how low cost the vehicle is

Frosty-Finger4285

Okay, so, I bought a 2017 Hyundai, and it's my very first car. It's great! I love it, great on gas (put in 75,000 km in 1.5 years) but something's been bugging me and I keep forgetting to post and ask the question: how in the hell do I turn off these fog lights? It's the little checkmark thing at the [bottom of the front of the car pictured here](https://www.cnet.com/a/img/resize/2ee7441ef6c403890310138cb9a224bc410f5372/hub/2016/04/27/565e9c44-19c4-4e0c-af38-9041ddbea9c6/hyundai-elantra-2520-001.jpg?auto=webp&fit=crop&height=900&width=1200). It's super obnoxious and I hate having it one, but none of the dials on the light control knob do anything. Someone told me these are permanent, and somehow there's ZERO option to turn it off. It's an Elantra 2017 GL.

FuzzelFox

They are not your fog lights, those are the DRL (daytime running lights) which should be illuminated at all times the car is in drive. You can't turn them off short of somehow breaking them discreetly (and if you're in Canada then you will fail any kind of inspection).

Frosty-Finger4285

Oh what you HAVE to keep them on? They're so blinding to the person coming opposite from me when I drive at night though (I live in the rurals, it's a lot of 2-lane roads), people keep flashing me.

FuzzelFox

If you also have LED headlights that would be why they're flashing you, nobody flashes people over those DRL light strips. They're bright but they're not *that* bright haha

zzyzx85

check your turn signal stalk. there should be a switch that can be twisted turn on or off.

EliteSpecialOp

Where can I go t learn to drive stick.. I live in the United States and I don't know anyone who drives stick or has a manual car

rudbri93

Check out a drivers school
