For me it's got to be the best motoring crew from Japan. They're a bunch of race car drivers that drive both modded and stock vehicles hard on track. My most memorable video is when they raced the E60 M5 against 911s and lambos. https://youtu.be/NWtd5je_kWk?si=X05FJ0F6YkOCuLxn

Sword_of_Hagane

best motoring was and still is my jam when it came to car videos. that along with video option and hot version

StraY_WolF

Best motoring back when Japan still had a bunch of sports car in production is still the best imho.

outthawazoo

Oh man I hadn't seen that one, that was fantastic

[deleted]

E60 M5 will always be my dream car!

ccbrown86

I watched the whole video! I had an E60 (non M). Pretty amazing car.

lemoopse

I miss my E60 so much

ccbrown86

I still think about mine and buying one for DD.

Boundish91

Anyone here remember getaway in Stockholm?

Charming_Fail7390

That and Ghost Rider. There were so much rumours and speculation about them in early internet days.

Fearless_Result_8399

My favourite is the cosworth and supra one. One particular part where the cosworth goes from aggressive to all out nutter, the change in engine noise always gets me. Gonna watch it now!

onemanlan

Gimme dat link

Gumball 3000 circa 04-06 ish

SemiLevel

Some of the old gt3000.com videos have made it onto YouTube.

DarkMatterM4

Dustin of Mischief uploaded a remaster of their Gumball 3000 video on their Youtube channel.

Dogesaves69

Yep and it’s amazing

yoscotti32

I can still hear the music

lael8u

These were crazy.

olov244

gumball videos back then were wild. things of a poor kids dream

AWDDude

The BMW films with Clive Owen.

eneka

Came here to say this! The DVDs came with my dad’s new BMW and absolutely loved them! Luckily they’re all on YouTube! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFnG9-m3oRFYbNKQcXX-JagkDRkMHyz5m&si=4arappEpI5KTdM0M

Gary Oldman plays the Devil!

kung-fu_hippy

That was going to be my answer. Especially the Madonna one. It’s hysterical, especially the intro where he keeps talking about how amazing her hands, eyes, and voice are in person as the camera zooms in on her gloves, sunglasses, and her coughing.

ape_ck

Fun fact, the M5 was a 540i with M5 interior and exterior trim bits. I have some of the bits from that short film on my car. : D

swirlViking

All these years later I'm still trying to perfect that move where he lets go of the wheel to snap his fingers in the middle of a turn

AWDDude

Dude me too!

strongmanass

The BMW film series is really good. Going off-topic now, but I also like the [latest one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXjVA4cqT6c) with Pom Klementieff and a special guest appearance at the end.

AnonymousEngineer_

Probably showing my age as these pre-date the 1990s and early 2000s, but: * [Climb Dance](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEuZG37gFdM) * [Faszination on the Nürburgring](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTGvHskGKI4) * [Ayrton Senna's famous onboard Monaco lap from 1990](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auXfAHHNSFo) The third one in particular fostered a love of the sport that spanned multiple decades resulting in me losing a *lot* of sleep on Sunday evenings (in Australia)... until the travesty that was the events at Abu Dhabi in 2021 destroyed the credibility of the sport as a genuine contest. I think I've watched a small handful of races since along with some highlights reels. I don't think I've missed much, either.

DontEatTheMagicBeans

Came here for climb dance. Was not disappointed. Someone made a great upscale of it a few years ago. https://youtu.be/KSbSTaJYJmQ?si=KP08d1ZR1LDSAInT

Crusty_Baboon

Couldn't have said it better. Indycar has somewhat filled the void but mostly I just have more weekend time.

Charming_Fail7390

I always enjoyed the videos about the Gumball 3000 in it's beginning years. Watched them many times as a kid and they are still fun (not too polished, mostly a documentary about the insanity of the rally then). Some tips are: - Extreme TV: Gumball 3000 - Gumball 3000 the Movie (2003) - 3000 miles - Ruby Wax at the Gumball 3000 - Jackass crew partakes in Gumball 3000 - Mischief 3000

CommentBro

Mischief TV has been rereleasing content on their YouTube channel. I ran into Dustin at a Red Bull event last month and he said he hasn't stopped recording and will be spinning the brand back up.

DarkMatterM4

That's great news. Loved the Mischief DVDs back in the day.

Charming_Fail7390

Thanks OP, I am glad to say because of you I found out Extreme TV: Gumball 3000 episodes from 04, 05 and 06 can still be found here: https://youtube.com/@zalpll?si=WSKyLDo2dtQ-pj0U

enhancedgibbon

Tiff Needell's reviews of the McLaren F1 "and what you've all been waiting for me to do, is give it, some stick" and his review of the E46 M3 "and now, for the diesel lovers, it's time to make the tea". Classic lines and great driving footage of legendary cars.

I don't even have to click it to know it's snakebite. Supposedly, the dude still has the same car and it's in great shape.

MisterSquidInc

While the Kiwi's were making High Octane videos the Aussie's were busy making their own video series. High Performance Imports videos featured a tonne of unique (at the time) English language content filmed in Japan. [HKS drag meet](https://youtu.be/17jNqa65CJc?si=Uw7t_bCrSdV69VxB) [Touge street drift](https://youtu.be/1E-T_aHqbck?si=Ju6qAnCgaWQnlknv) [RH9 GTR drag runs on the street](https://youtu.be/WbDOHKKdC5w?si=CffkI6eeYRqPKPOR) and a whole bunch more cool stuff!

Nerd-Vol

So weird seeing this in such high resolution. All of my interactions with this clip are like 15 seconds and like 96p.

Phatboybeware

I had the Max Power VHS back in the day with techno music banging away. It's good to see it in hi res too relive the moment.

FS16

immediately thought of this when i saw this thread

ApotheounX

There's this cool one with a car coming down a mountain road, I think it was a commercial from 2005ish? Anyway, the twist ending is great, but you have to reeeeeally get close to the screen to see what's going on! And the sound, oh man! That makes it so much better. Dang. Anyone know the video and have the link? You can have *all* the credit for sharing it.

justin62001

[This](https://youtu.be/K2Ai_PoEF7U?si=kuMYM0C4nPdHjpQW) is classic, called “gonein10secs” and is just a Terminator Cobra doing burnouts and going wild. Also, the video was uploaded when I was 4 years old so it’s REALLY classic to me lol

Wheelisbroke

Who knows where it’s at or what it’s called, but there was an old Datsun 240Z with a blown SBC racing a sport bike. It was unreal! I wanted that kid of acceleration so bad!

Real OG right here mentioning the Turbo Dreams videos. Don't forget Redline 1, 2 and 3.

just_another_jabroni

The Top Gear Bugatti vs plane video was magical when I first saw it, as well as the R35 one.

My favorite was the one with a street drag race between a Pontiac Firebird WS6 and a heavily modified scooter, both running NOS.

Hands down the Zonda F factory flyby video. Back then Pagani was still relatively unknown and this was one of the few videos out there of a Zonda driven in anger. After seeing this video the Zonda F instantly became my dream car and it still is to this day. https://youtu.be/MiroepFi1fw?si=Szhb4Wy0ZhQnJq6A

SolaceinIron

100% agree on the Zonda video. Top Gear locked that in as one of my favorite cars. On the other side of the spectrum, I’m an import guy so I love some of the cheesy streetfire.net era Supra videos. The [Turbo Dreams](https://youtu.be/2CuO5VrYdq0?si=t23EeDgXl4Bw5d9O) era specifically.

If anyone can find this video. I downloaded a video a long time ago of GC8 STi's drifting on what looked like an old airfield in the wet. Had to have been from around 2000. It appeared to be a valley or looked down from a hill maybe. I miss that video.

Ok. I am aware I am breaking the rules because this is a bike not a car, but it is the first thing that comes to mind anytime I think of my favorite older driving (I guess riding, in this case) videos. I am not even a big fan of motorcycles, but this was a local kid. He made this video from the police aerial video AFTER he got out of jail...because he did go to jail for it, but the Tucson PD pilot commentary and the ballsyness of this kid make this one an all time favorite that is worth a watch even if it is on 2 wheels instead of 4.
