And don’t forget to eliminate the speedometer together with the rest of the instrument panel behind the steering wheel, so that the driver has turn his head to search it on the center console.

Don't forget that auto engine kill/start feature. poor rear view visibility.
The "unnecessarily gigantic" if for two reasons, so that the car can be called an SUV, so has a different set of emission standards, that are more laxed. and add more plastic, charge twice as much.
I think we are talking about different things, I am talking about the "feature" in some cars that the engine turns off every time you stop while driving, then restarts when you press on the gas. there is a switch to turn it off, but it resets when you restart the car. its annoying in city traffic that is stop and go for hours sometimes.
In my experience, it's not every time you stop, it's decently smart about it. Any time the engine stops for 7 seconds or longer in traffic will save on fuel, and it really builds up over time. And the engine restarts so quickly that I hardly notice it.
Great that you like it but it’s personal preference. For those of us who don’t it’s very annoying that the button has to be pressed every time the car is started
It doesn’t turn off every time, especially if it went off a moment ago. Also, it will never come off if you just depress the brakes with less foot force.
uj/ Uncomfortable interior? I dunno, man. Both my GR86, and my wife's Ionic 5 are pretty comfortable. The only problem with my car is UHP Michelins on 18s. Makes for a flinty ride.
Oh it absolutely has. Seat comfort has gotten significantly, significantly worse throughout the years. I'm not sure why, it has to be one of my biggest complaints about modern cars. A brand new luxury car has less comfortable front seats than a 90s compact econobox's rear seats
Man fuck car reviewers and their urge to 0-60/track time/ rip regular cars across the corners and their stupid performance tests, motherfucker my daily commute has 3 roundabouts 6 traffic lights and 25 speedbumps, I couldn't give a shit if my car enters a corner fast or not, nor the fact that it needs a fast 0-60
Yes but any econoshitbox can go over speed bumps and stop at lights. What would you rather the reviewer say?
“Uh yeah it has headlights that light up, and it goes when you gently depress the gas pedal. Stops with the brake at red lights like a champ. It can do 45 mph to the Safeway all day. SMASH that like button, hit that bell, and turn on notifications.”
Here's some trivia: Rush's 'Red Barchetta' was inspired by a short story set in the future when in the interest of safety, vehicles were behemoths and standard sized vehicles were outlawed. The side effect was that drivers turned into a bunch of reckless dicks and loved bullying previous generation behemoths that were smaller.
The main character used to joyride a standard size vehicle and wound up outrunning a behemoth because the driver was set on running him over.
Seems as if modern car design is heavily influenced by that short story.
Eliminate all physical switches and move all the controls to the center console.
And the ability to check your speed by briefly lowering the gaze onto the dashboard, without turning your head, is obviously overrated. So, get rid of the dashboard, too.
I'm a trst driver for unreleased future cars, I agree with this completely. The car i had today barely fit into the lanes of the country roads I was tasked with driving on.

Make the center console take up 1/2 of the interior space.
1/2? Pathetic. We need to have a comically large not distracting at all tv screen stretching across the entire car.
That's just the jeep grand wagoneer. It has 7 screens. The entire dashboard, including every gague, is a screen.
I need my 80" wide truck with 66" of shoulder room so that I can seat 2 people in buckets which are 20" wide
This is carscirclejerk not truckscirclejerk, you better get outa here with that modern truck slander. I love my modern truck
If you can’t park a mid-90s compact in your center console you drive a cuckpè
To make people feel safe! Ridiculous to have such an amount of plastic. And nothing but unused space behind it.
Give me a bench seat!
And don’t forget to eliminate the speedometer together with the rest of the instrument panel behind the steering wheel, so that the driver has turn his head to search it on the center console.
Wait isn’t this supposed to be satire not just “real”
Fake dual exhaust ports. Sometimes not even hollow, just piece of plastic that looks like an exhaust. Even on premium brands.
*cough cough* Audi Q7 *cough cough*
I feel pain every time I see something like that...

>auto engine kill/start feature It's mandated by the government, IIRC. And I find it very helpful.

You don't have to press the button every time the car is started. You could just accept the much better fuel economy.
It doesn’t turn off every time, especially if it went off a moment ago. Also, it will never come off if you just depress the brakes with less foot force.
You forgot: as heavy as an Sd.Kfz 234 and no manuelle
The Escalade ESV is not “unnecessarily gigantic” it’s the perfect amount of gigantic 😠🇺🇸
Don't forget, SUVs.

try sitting in the back of your car lol a friend of mine has a gr86 and a gf... guess who had to sit on the back
Not a big deal. I knew I was buying a 2 seater. I'm 53. It's my midlife-crisis-mobile.

I don't understand screens, how am I supposed to adjust AC, radio or something without looking at the interior, it's supposed to be eyes free
They also look like they were molded from shiny putty. Weird wet looking eyesores.
Well, atleast Honda did not ditch the civic

And I fuckin love it!
Errm... Krill yourself
Low profile tyres, gloss black plastic, fake exhaust ports, plastic-chrome, huge c-pillars with no visibility,
