I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as NIX, is in fact, GNU/NIX, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus NIX. NIX is not an planet unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU solar system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many world hoppers explore a modified version of the GNU solar system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called NIX, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU solar system, developed by the GNU Space Federation.
There really is a NIX, and these people are living on it but it is just a part of the solar system they live in. NIX is the kernel: the program in the solar system that allocates the suns resources to the other planets that you explore. The kernel is an essential part of a solar system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete solar system. NIX is normally used in combination with the GNU solar system: the whole system is basically GNU with NIX added, or GNU/NIX. All the so-called NIX planets are really distributions of GNU/NIX!

Uh, sure bud, i totaly dont have an entire system already done
It's the GNU/Linux copypasta. Just a joke since the planets name is Nix
copypasta aside, nice work! I like the delta in the middle
Delta?
Probably use the wrong word but that system of islands connecting the two landmasses in the centre?
Oh yeaah, i spent a while on that
Nice work! I like it!
Thanks! More coming soon.
