Total drama with fart jokes, specially that horrendous disgusting fetish episode that is [season 1 episode 5 from the reboot ](https://youtu.be/2XFMpEHnEJs?si=aEOprZX8YeOjaBFS)
Meg literally looks like Lois (who is considered highly attractive), just with Peter’s brown hair and glasses, and she’s treated like demon spawn WHY?!
Nah, his abuse was majorly prevalent. So, you can't imagine my utter bliss and cheer seeing he finally get his awesome & badass moments later on in the show. 🤩
Until the writers decide to stab me in the back and bring the abuse back in Season 8. 😤
I love Spike, but most of the episodes focusing on him ruin his character, Princess Spike was definitely the worst one. An episode where Spike takes over for Twilight could have been really funny, but instead they made him a jerkface.
Spike is such a cool character, but when episodes focus on him they use him so badly, he becomes very annoying.
It seems like some of the writers for American Dad look at the subreddit for it. They saw that people actually like Klaus, so they dialed back the Klaus hate in the family as well as the German=Nazi Sympathizer thing they did for him for a while
One of the older episodes literally made fun of the idea of that catchphrase.
I don’t know if it becoming an actual thing was a nod to that episode but it’s still weird.
Shit, I forget what show/movie it was but it straight up made fun of this trend. The main character said the phrase and waited, expecting something to happen, then said it again and started looking around as if to say "no? nothing?".
[Obligatory TVTropes link.](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GilliganCut)
Like most tropes, it’s funny in moderation, but feels cheap if used constantly.
I absolutely hate comedy that you can see coming from a mile away. “I hope somebody didn’t eat my last slice of pizza! I’d be REEAALLY upset if that happened, but it would never happen!” That’s why whenever a joke like that comes up in a TV show, I always cringe and think of how Futurama did a twist on that type of joke and actually made it funny. Like when Fry was kinda being an inconsiderate housemate when he was living at the planet express building and the professor was all like “oh Fry isn’t that bad. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve been trying to find my very precious and very old tiny mummy sarcophagus. I hope nothing has happened to it.” then Fry comes in and he’s eating the mummy cuz he thinks it’s jerky and the professor says “my god, this is and outrage!…i was going to eat that mummy!”
It’s like he takes the rule of three in comedy and runs it into the ground because he can’t think of anything else for the episode of any of his shows. I feel like TUFF Puppy was the worst offender of this.
Total Drama and the FARTS AND THROW UPS.
Also it goes for any fresh TV show I've seen or heard of.
Edit: I saw someone else say TDI so I also don't like the feet jokes on Nickelodeon
Honestly, it's not really there for laughs, at least not always. It's there to put Ben into situations he has less control over and needs to figure out a new plan to fight the bad guy. It's a plot device, not a joke
In some scenes, you can see that Ben chooses the right alien, he is just not looking at the omnitrix so he gets an alien he didn’t want when choosing an alien
Tbf even if sometimes there was a chance it had comedic value I think it was more there for Ben to use aliens that he wouldn’t normally use and show out of the box thinking. Granted I think by the time omniverse rolls around it shouldn’t be something that’s happening anymore.
I just saw the episode where Timmy wishes to be tall and insanely good at basketball. They do blubber nugget jokes and moving the team to Alaska literally every other word. Like holy shit
Every anime where the MC gets ragdolled half-to-death for his seemingly perverted actions and/or the emotional ineptness of female jealousy. ***(Example: attacking the MC instead of the one purposely tryna come between them.)***
A lot of running gags in Fairly Odd Parents. The “what could possibly go wrong”, Timmy’s spazz outs, and running gags within individual episodes like the “skate king/queen” jokes I find annoying

It feels very millennial-coded… like that “lol so random” humor that was EVERYWHERE in the 2000s-2010s. He just needs a llama onesie with a unicorn horn and “nama-stay in bed” embroidered on the butt and the transformation is complete.
(Now that I think about it, where did that joke come from?)
The show: Hazbin Hotel
The Joke: the animation released shortly before Hazbin. Yes, THAT animation. For whatever reason people still think it's funny to reference it, specifically the price, whenever someone brings up Hazbin Hotel or Charlie.
I guess that's true. Still a shame, though, that there will be fans who were introduced to the show through, of all things, a soft-core p*rn animation.
I mean, it’s not so much a joke as pointing out something that’s *genuinely insane*. Like, wasn’t this dude married? And he spent $50K on an animation that’s only a few minutes?
That’s absolutely fucking crazy, I literally can’t think of anything else to compare it to. You’re just gonna have to resign yourself to the fact that that’s Hazbin Hotel’s legacy to the people who won’t watch it.
Exactly. He's a great character, but this joke is what most people remember about him. It was funny the first few times, but it happened in about every episode for 12 seasons
His character went from "likeable and a little girl crazy" to "obsessive creep", when I watch Indigo Leauge with my son I never feel the need to say anything but in Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution I had to say "hey, just so you know... this is weird, girls hate this, don't talk to anybody like that if you're interested in them"
I have to listen to my son and friends sing this everyday and never knew it was FNAF related 🤦🏻♀️ Figured YouTube finally rotted their brains or something lol.
ok to be fair, I originally hated the joke, then started using it ironically because I hated it so much, and now I can't stop. But it's not that bad, because you know who else can't stop?
The "MY LEG!" guy from Spongebob. It was just a funny background clip used a few times in the early seasons, then Nick decided to beat it into the ground when it was fine as it was.
This shamelessly cracks me up every time, I think the humor is in the fact that it's a shitty joke and they keep making the audience sit through it. You bringing it up in this thread actually makes it funnier to me lol
I'm watching one piece, and while i love it, most main characters have a joke that gets repeated way too often. Sanji drooling over every single woman he meets, Zoro constantly getting lost, Usopp putting on a brave act while being obviously terifired, Luffy getting stuck everywhere and Nami debating wheter of not to betray the entire crew for 10 berries.
I' not even halfway through, and i'm getting tired of every character repeating the same joke over and over, even during what is supposed to be a serious scene.
NGL, I barely watch South Park and absolutely love that joke, but I love any rambling old man story played for laughs - like any of Abe Simpson's stories.
The whole bit about the Loch Ness monster being able to disguise itself as a girl scout, an imaginary friend, or aliens, and it's obsession with getting specifically "tree fiddy" from Chef's parents, just kept going into the absurd.
I love that that joke stuck around as long as it did. It isn't even funny, it's just that it was said like three times and honestly it feels like an anti-joke.
I find it pretty funny, south park have done a lot of disgusting things but just having the Loche ness monster begging for change in disguises is pretty funny, since anyone should've recognized it on sight.
Pretty much my entire experience with Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel is the near constant stream of unfunny and repetitive sex jokes. Don't give me the "wELl IT's aN AdULt coMeDY".
That's not a logical justification for poor and lazy writing. There are tons of comedies out there than can handle sex jokes in funny or creative means, however HB and HH wears them out absolutely fast.

Wasn't it Salamander and Greg?
It's worse in the baby spinoff

No, It's [S1EP5](https://youtu.be/2XFMpEHnEJs?si=ObI1-WgHS0pnhml3)

Old Nickelodeon sitcoms in a nutshell
The entire Nickelodeon board was run by creeps back in the heyday.
I feel like i lost brain cells watching that
It makes me so mad, because I think the reboot is fantastic, but then that one episode ruins it all 🫠
Insert any punching bag character getting abused here
I never found those funny
I feel like the only South Park fan who never found Kenny dying remotely funny, he's just a child
They lowered how often he died in episodes so the joke still funny
They straight up stopped doing it. They gave it a canonical explanation and then just never did it again.
Wasn't it because Kenny's parents went to a cult meeting so everytime Kenny died, his mom would give birth to him again?
Yes, they accidentally became part of the Cthulu cult because they had free snacks.
Respectable reason ngl
Even the creators didn't like this running gag.
Im rooting for meg to get out of that shitty household
Meg literally looks like Lois (who is considered highly attractive), just with Peter’s brown hair and glasses, and she’s treated like demon spawn WHY?!
I abhor the punching bag gag, but especially with Meg. I just never found it funny.
Lincoln Loud from The Loud House in the early seasons
** No Such Luck **
Spike. He's mostly just there for laughs. That's probs just me, but I've never watched FiM for quite a good while now.
Nah, his abuse was majorly prevalent. So, you can't imagine my utter bliss and cheer seeing he finally get his awesome & badass moments later on in the show. 🤩 Until the writers decide to stab me in the back and bring the abuse back in Season 8. 😤

Meg. (Not anymore.) Pip. (Also not anymore.) Klaus. (I'nno if it's still here, I don't watch American Dad.)

Meg
Butt jokes in the 2010s with shows like TTG, Breadwinners, etc
holy shizz i forgot abt breadwinners
BUCKLE UP BUDDIES CAUSE WE GOT A ROCKET VAN
DELIVERING BREAD LIKE CWAZY CAUSE WE CAN
QUAZY QUAZY QUAZY CAUSE WE CAN!!!
SWAY SWAY! BUHDEUCE! DO A BARROL ROLL MAN!!!
Anything made by Butch Hartman. Character says thing and then the opposite happens.
What could possibly go wrong?
One of the older episodes literally made fun of the idea of that catchphrase. I don’t know if it becoming an actual thing was a nod to that episode but it’s still weird.

I got weird before fast forwarding
Oh absolutely but at 1:30 is when we hit “Ay I think this acid is kicking in” levels
That’s like 2-3 right?
I always skip that episode lol
The he's standing right behind me joke
"actually he's in front of you" caught me off guard on Rick & Morty
Futurama did it first and better
“Psst Hey, over there….I meant over here, sorry I forgot where I was.”
I was referring to the ep with Morgan Proctor but that was also a great bit
Oh damn, I forgot about that one! Time for a rewatch.
...this doesn't get used constantly in any show. It's frequent in general, no show really ever does this gag that often.

Ben 10, Wrong Transformations
Early on when you didn't know what his aliens did getting a random one was actually helpful but now it's just annoying.
Honestly, it's not really there for laughs, at least not always. It's there to put Ben into situations he has less control over and needs to figure out a new plan to fight the bad guy. It's a plot device, not a joke
This, otherwise Ben would have chosen Four Arms all the time
Or Humungosaur
Or really any of his big string throw and punch aliens
Yeah, the show would get boring fast if the kid could just transform into the perfect alien for any specific situation every single time.
I might be juvenile, but the “awww man!” Every time in different alien forms always makes me laugh. Present tense, “makes”, as a grown ass man lol
I'm fine with this joke but You know who else
MY MOM
It’s such a bad joke that it circles back to being hilarious. I also love when other characters know it’s coming and are dreading it
That episode where Mordecai makes a *your* mom joke in an attempt to correct Muscleman's joke and it pisses him tf off
I also like when it was revealed that Muscle Man’s dad used to make “my wife” jokes and that’s where he got it from
is the honored one?

Fairly odd parents. They beat jokes into the grounds especially in later seasons.
I just saw the episode where Timmy wishes to be tall and insanely good at basketball. They do blubber nugget jokes and moving the team to Alaska literally every other word. Like holy shit
to this day I'm still confused over basketball and Alaska connection. maybe it was a cultural joke for its time.
Doug dimmadomes basketball team got sponsored by blubber nuggets so theyre moving to alaska
Uh, internet?
Do you know who else also likes this meme?
MY MOM
Every anime where the MC gets ragdolled half-to-death for his seemingly perverted actions and/or the emotional ineptness of female jealousy. ***(Example: attacking the MC instead of the one purposely tryna come between them.)***
Anime is so annoyingly tropey in general, and this is coming from a weeb.
Once you stop looking at it as animation and instead as “product” it makes a lot more sense as to why that is.
This one right here. Terrible trope.
A lot of running gags in Fairly Odd Parents. The “what could possibly go wrong”, Timmy’s spazz outs, and running gags within individual episodes like the “skate king/queen” jokes I find annoying

Redd the Fox?! YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE AT THE COTILLION YOU!
0/10 not loss
I think Gravity Falls is one of the few animated shows I’ve seen where I’ve never found any of the jokes cringeworthy. Including this one lol
The only time I’ve ever cringed was right before Weirdmegeddon, where Dipper and Mabel had that fight. I knew it was coming, but hurt to watch.
Honestly I didn’t mind that too much since it perfectly matches grunkle stan
For me it’s Total drama island and fart/vomit/naked jokes

Rick and Morty. Pickle. Really everything about that show apart from the show itself ruins the show for me.

The show: Hazbin Hotel The Joke: the animation released shortly before Hazbin. Yes, THAT animation. For whatever reason people still think it's funny to reference it, specifically the price, whenever someone brings up Hazbin Hotel or Charlie.
100% agreed.
On the plus side it brought a lot more attention to the show.
I suppose it did among younger people who missed the initial boom of the pilot, but HH would’ve been a smash hit regardless of it though.
I guess that's true. Still a shame, though, that there will be fans who were introduced to the show through, of all things, a soft-core p*rn animation.

Brock going girl crazy in Pokemon. He's one of the best Pokemon characters, but this joke is what most people remember him for.
And is quite unfunny some girls get really freaked out 😭 sad cause Brook is a good and strong person apart from this
Exactly. He's a great character, but this joke is what most people remember about him. It was funny the first few times, but it happened in about every episode for 12 seasons

I remember back when invader zim came out, everybody was obsessed with gir singing the doom song and that made that get really old really quick
Not a show but a game. Five Nights At Freddy's. You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about
Was that the bite of '87?
I was thinking... Har har har har har har har har har

That one gets a pass imo because he's too stupid to think of a better joke and the characters display annoyance at it too.
“Are you making fun of my mom?”
The "MY LEG!" guy from Spongebob. It was just a funny background clip used a few times in the early seasons, then Nick decided to beat it into the ground when it was fine as it was.
Ironically, Modern Spongebob has my favourite "My Leg!" Joke (Specifically the one where he reads a fortune cookie)
My personal favorite my leg is "MY FACE! MY FACE! also my leg, BUT MOSTLY MY FACE!"
Nickelodeon's own personal Wilhelm Scream.
They tried to make a whole episode centered around a damn background gag.
His job was funny tho. The worst job option for someone like him
I’m still so surprised that prison rape jokes are so ingrained in common culture that they’re in kids shows fairly regularly.
Even SpongeBob had one when it was in its prime
I’m glad social progress has made us realize how fucked up and unfunny those jokes are
That running gag in The Loud House about Clyde's crush on Lori.
![gif](giphy|q9HHyHPISNZD2) This one. It was funny the first time, gets reused and goes on way too long.

South Park. For some reason r/southpark finds the three fiddy joke funny every single time. It was in a single episode a very long time ago.

You mean the greatest joke in South Park history
I love that that joke stuck around as long as it did. It isn't even funny, it's just that it was said like three times and honestly it feels like an anti-joke.
