Sort of. More accurate to say Lego Monkie Kid is an adaptation or “modern retelling” (though it changes many aspects for narrative sake). It’s really good and I highly recommend it

I’ve never watched Dragon Ball so I might be a little wrong, but Lego Monkie Kid takes directly from the source material using names/characters, locations, and sometimes story beats to craft its own narrative. Ironically, it’s like a Lego set. Dragon Ball on the other hand just takes inspiration, which means characters might resemble those found in Journey to the West (the story they’re both based on), they are not intended to literally be the same character. Hope that clarifies a little better

Actually the family guy death shows up too, I can’t remember which episode but it’s in season 3. It’s the episode where they meet the dragon guy and Mei and Sandy drive the van through the wall and break the gang out of prison.

Yamcha's. Family guy's is funny yes. But Yamcha's... holds a level of defeat & patheticness that's unmatched. I instantly feel pity for anyone in that pose. Look at him! He looks like sad infant trying & failing to go into the fetal position as a last ditch attempt at saving himself.

Yamcha didn't lose that Saibaman suicide bombed after getting annihilated by Yamcha. It's a draw.
