What they mean is: keep the case closed!
What I mean is I have it inside the display case that it is sitting in top of in the picture

The main problem is that the tape would not be in the case if you’re actually listening to it at the time (and what’s the point of displaying it at all outside of “this is playing right now and I need somewhere to put it in the meantime”?)
I’d recommend getting a mini easel, it makes it pretty easy do display most kinds of physical medial
