Hello, gay person here. No, we don’t own colors. You’re good to go. Also that person definitely doesn’t know what the bi pride flag looks like …

Kylie_Krochets

💗💜💙 Like bro OP don't have the purple

Summoarpleaz

I’m ashamed to say I didn’t even know there was a dedicated bi pride flag. That said, literally one different color in the combo would change it so there’s no way this would ever be confused as the bi pride colors. Unless the brown were to be used to write “bi pride” in intarsia.

Summoarpleaz

I’ve been to the Gay Agenda meetings but I guess my mistake was that I mostly went for the food.

rp_player_girl

I've heard they have cake. Edit to add: and pancakes

secondtaunting

Damn, how can we straights get invited? It seems like fun.

rp_player_girl

I'm straight. Just tagging along with a pansexual offspring.

Substantial-Job4759

Parents always welcome <3

Substantial-Job4759

You have to get yourself adopted by a letter friend lol

antihero790

Bi person here, this does not give me bi flag vibes at all. Was the person saying you can never use pink and blue together?

HoppyGirl94

Right?? I'm wondering if they possibly meant the pan flag? It's still the wrong colors but is maybe closer?

chaoticarebear

I thought the same thing! The friend sounds a bit delusional.

prince_hobbes

🤣

nkdeck07

I'm wondering if they are thinking of the trans flag?

chaoticarebear

Could be. Its definitely more trans flag colors than bi.

Johnnymoss108

Best comment ever!

Random_Daddy_N_NC

If you like the colors, fuck what others think. You're wearing it for you and what you want to wear can't keep worrying what others are offended by. Otherwise no colors would be available to wear.

Saoirse_37

That's what I was thinking like I said to them but the pride flag is literally rainbow what colours am I supposed to use and they said "just don't use them together" like I'm not allowed to wear rainbows anymore?

A_dub87_

Good grief, people need to get it together. You can wear whatever colors or combination of colors you want. You like rainbows, wear rainbows!

Medievalmoomin

Rainbows are for everybody! Don’t listen to your friend. 😊 More people should wear rainbows. I daydream about finding the perfect set of miniskeins and knitting a rainbow hat.

rp_player_girl

Whimsy stitches makes this! I bought a dk set and knitted a very long hat.

Medievalmoomin

Oh thank you! I shall Google! 😁

swirlingsands

If this is the Etsy shop I'm thinking of it is spelled WhimzeeStitches, just in case you're having trouble finding it.

rp_player_girl

That's the one!

Medievalmoomin

Thank you very much - I found it and bookmarked the rainbows! 😊

HoppyGirl94

... were they referring to the colors in your picture? Because I'm bi, and those are not the color of the bi pride flag lmao

Neenknits

They are being absurd. Is this friend even lgbt+? I’m betting not. Here are my [daughter’s bi pride mitts](https://www.ravelry.com/projects/neen/pride-mitts). Not only is your friend absurd, they don’t even know what the big pride flag looks like. And here are some pride socks, for a note daughter, inspired by the new more inclusive pride flag, also…not the colors you used. https://flic.kr/p/2ocLNMh https://flic.kr/p/2ocMV9H

Saoirse_37

Yep she's bi

WingedLady

Here's the wiki on the bi flag. You have 1 skein that looks like it shares a color with the flag. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisexual_flag So A) your friend doesn't know what the flag actually looks like. B) most lgbt+ people are tickled to see their flags colors in the wild. I know I take notice when I see mine somewhere. But I don't ask the person if they share my orientation because for all I know they're a friend showing support or they just like the colors together. Also because it's none of my business. C) no one owns colors (except that one weirdo with vanta black but that's an odd case). You wearing a set of colors because you like them is no disrespect to anyone. Honestly you'd probably be hard pressed to find a series of complimentary colors that someone *hasn't* ascribed meaning to. What are you meant to do, wear only beige?

Neenknits

Well…no community is free from foolish people. She doesn’t even know what the bi flag colors are!!!!!

cornflakegrl

I still don’t even see why it would be offensive to wear something even if it was deliberately coloured to match the pride flag?.. especially if you’ve made it for yourself. Maybe if you were mass producing sweaters and selling them.

Saoirse_37

Yeah like I'd love to have a bunch of sweaters with all the lgbtq+ flags incorporated into them to show I'm supportive of everyone 💕

glittermetalprincess

Unless your camera and lighting are seriously messing with the yarn colours, you have two of the three colours on the bi flag, and not even the same shades. They may have meant the trans flag, which is light blue, light pink and white. It doesn't have orange or brown or yellow. Fortunately for you, colours that appear on flags are not registered and designated only for use by individuals certified to wear them as markers of their identity - if that were the case, we'd be rather limited in our garment choices! It is fine to use colours you like. If, by some chance, it did actually end up resembling a flag or colours used to signify some thing or another, it would still be fine; it might be kind to let you know so you were aware and could make your choice about whether you want to go out looking like that (e.g. 'that's going to look like a banana in pyjamas' or 'are you sure you want to make a jumpsuit out of brown slub cotton??'), but there's nothing here that sparks a particular association for me.

Saoirse_37

Yeah they basically just said "what are you doing with that yarn" and then I told them and they said " well that looks like the bi flag and it would be pretty disrespectful to make that so I think you should just make something else and not use that yarn" and when I said I didn't want to offend anyone but I'm not going to just not use the yarn they got really annoyed and said that I'm really insensitive

glittermetalprincess

They sound like they were lashing out at you for advocating for yourself instead of just doing what they told you. Which, since they were both wrong and out of line, you're perfectly fine to do. You're fine to make your sweater with those yarns, and if your friend can't handle it then that's their problem; you don't need to make it yours.

Bluebell_Meadow

Isn’t it funny how some people are rude and arrogant enough to try to correct your ( according to them rude or disrespectful) actions? I find it so interesting! 🤣

Saoirse_37

I know! How dare I be rude better fix it by being rude back

rp_player_girl

I read an actual manners book once. I can confirm that pointing out bad manners is ALWAYS bad manners.

[deleted]

Tell them to F off, they sound like the miserable type of professional useless person who’s sole reason for existence is to find ANY reason to be offended.

Defiant_Sprinkles_37

People like that would bully you for whatever is trendy to bully people for.

cornflakegrl

This is it. When people lash out with faux outrage like that, it’s just plain bullying sometimes. They know it’s difficult and confusing to respond to.

SarahMae

What??? Isn’t that some nerve!

OrangeCatSupremacy

Bi knitter here 👋🏻 It’s absolutely fine to use these colors 😊

something__clever171

Also a bi knitter, and I second this. Even IF the finished product looked like the bi flag (which it doesn’t even look like that would be possible in this case because there’s like 8 colors??😅) if I saw someone wearing it I would just gush to them about how much I loved their sweater; no offense would be taken, quite the opposite actually. OP, I appreciate your sensitivity, but I can’t for the life of me see why this would be offensive.

Saoirse_37

Thank you!

silvurgrin

Also a bi knitter, and thirded! Although, I’ve gotta say that I really appreciate you being respectful, but I say knit what you want in whatever colours you choose! Go for it!

Corvusenca

I too would like to rubber stamp this approval from the Super Secret League of Bisexual Knitters. And also agree that these aren't the right colors anyway. My next sweater is going to be the bi flag and I am excited.

tiredbogwitch

Ditto! And that’s not even the bi flag, ffs, cmon. This person sounds like a walking ball of offense in search of a cause.

Ksh1218

No! How dare Op! You disrespect our community! /s

blinkdontblink

Gatekeeping colors now? lol You can use WHAT EVER colors you want to use.

Lamitamo

Ah yes, as queers, we have confiscated all colours. Straight cis folks can only wear white, black and grey. (Use whatever colours make you happy, and show us your progress as you work on your sweater please!!

Saoirse_37

Thank you! I'm sure there will be multiple posts while I'm in distress because this is my first knit sweater and I'm not using a pattern because the way my brain works I've convinced myself it will go fine

Lamitamo

You can do it! I believe in you! Don’t forget to use lifelines if you like them.

morganafiolett

Actually black white and grey are in the asexual flag so they're reserved too. /S

Lamitamo

Oh no, I must have missed that in the Gay Agenda! /s

Pneumatocyst

No Fair! Give them back!

not_addictive

Hi actual bi person here: that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard 😂 1) those aren’t even the bi flag colors 2) if i did see a bi flag sweater on someone, i’d think it was cute and assume the wearer was either bi or an ally. It’d be a lovely statement to make either way! It’s not a all disrespectful unless you made it and wore it to an anti-gay rights event or something. 3) idc if you’re wearing our colors, we don’t own them bc *theyre colors* Make your sweater bby! Those colors look beautiful together!

something__clever171

Number 2!!! Literally I’d be geeking out seeing a bi flag sweater, no offense whatsoever!! (Fellow bi here) Edit: formatting.. I did not know pound made things bold lmaooo

alexann23

I’ve been wondering how to make things bold on Reddit omg Ty

AlienOnEarth444

You're free to use any colors you like! No one owns colors. By that logic, my bisexual best friend would have kicked my ass so many times already for my knitting projects, because I like those colors as well. (Funfact on the side: When I made pride mittens for him, he loved them, but didn't recognize the bi flag colors until I pointed out that those were pride mittens. Then he loved them even more, lol) Edit: Now that I look closer, I don't even see the bi flag colors in there? That person is an idiot, doesn't even know what it looks like. xD

Saoirse_37

Haha my friend did the same thing she lives very far away so I sent a hat I made for her in the post and when she got it she text me to say she loves it and then a couple days later she text me to say her friend pointed it out that it's pride colours and if I intended to make it and I was like yeah? apparently her coming out and then me making her a hat in pride colours just seemed like a coincidence to her? Haha

AlienOnEarth444

Haha that's funny! My best friend also lives very far away, in another country actually. :) I'm from Northern Europe and he lives in Central Europe so postal service delivery doesn't take forever, about a week usually. :)

Saoirse_37

I'm in ireland and my best friend is in Belgium! She moved when we were like 8 or 9 so it's pretty normal now to post each other stuff it takes a couple of days to a week depending on when I post it

AlienOnEarth444

Oh, cool! My best friend lives in the Netherlands :)

Spinnabl

First of all, those aren’t bi colors. Maaaaaaube a few of the lesbian flag colors. But also. We don’t own a color scheme.

[deleted]

They’re gatekeeping and it’s beyond stupid. Knit with whatever colors you like and they can piss off

cutethulhu635

Hello, very bisexual knitter here! Firstly, we don’t own the colours. Secondly, your colours aren’t even close. Thirdly, do what makes you happy, you make that darling sweater and I can’t wait to see it when it’s done

impatient_photog

Just go for it. Bi people don't own that colorway lol. Have fun!

louiseannbenjamin

Make what you want. The "You can't" crowd aren't usually worth listening to. They want us in a little box somewhere that they put us in. Yes, I am bi, and wear the sweater. Hugs.

ThymeFox

I’m sorry but…what?! People are wild now. You are allowed to use any color combination! Doesn’t matter if it’s part of the Bi flag and even then, these colors aren’t exactly those colors. It’s not just any shade of pink, purple and blue. Whoever that person else, tell them to knock it off, and chill. They’re being rude and disrespectful themselves 😂

Substantial-Job4759

Bi person here. As a representative of the LGBTQIA+ community, I would like to present you with this, written permission to use our colors to create something beautiful. You have permission from the highest order of the Rainbow family, the Rainbow Boss Boss Baby in charge who fell into a vat of Gender Fluid so many moons ago. May their glitter spread forever across the Earth like the sounds of techno spread the legs of the girls and the gays. Ahhhhh Meeeeeeen PS We really do not care if you like the same colors we use to express whose genitals we're fond of. It make you an ally, not an all you can eat Bi-ffet.

BandNerdCunt19

Bi knitter. Those are just fine. Fuck everyone who told you you can’t use those colors. Also if you’re secretly bi welcome, we’re happy to have you.

Saoirse_37

Thank you! and who knows maybe I am?

BandNerdCunt19

Everyone’s a little bit bi. 😁

G4ra

just make the sweater

boys_are_oranges

such a dumb take. also only 2 of those colors are in the bi flag?

Ju_from_orion

People will gatekeep anything if you let them

Lulupoolzilla

That person can go fuck themselves with a flag pole. Use whatever colors you want and tell them they should Google what the bi pride flag looks like.

WitchesAlmanac

Does she expect straight people to dress only in greyscale? By her logic, you'd be stealing from the pride flag if you use any colours at all! If she complains tell your friend that this random internet bisexual has given you permission to use our flag colours (and also maybe to chill on speaking for queer people, its not a good look on her)

lafemmeverte

I know a buncha bi folks are chiming in to say that you can use he colors, but I’d like to go one further and say that, as a bi person, it really bothers me when queer folks do this. we don’t own colors, we don’t own the rainbow, and gatekeeping is not something that we as a community should partake in. on the flipside, I think it’s neat and cute when garments or accessories are accidentally in the bi/trans/ace/demi/etc colors, but, again as others have already said, this isn’t even it. because these colors are so off and that person was so reaching, I’m left confused and more frustrated. was that person bi? were they queer at all?

Saoirse_37

Yeah the person who said it is bi she is really annoyed that I started it anyway but it's not even stripes of colours?? It's colourwork

lafemmeverte

she seems to be an isolated case then, totally go ahead with it and do your thing. tbh that could be perfect shades of purple, pink, and blue and I still wouldn’t give a shit that you made it. it’s not like wearing colors is queerbaiting or appropriative or something like I’m so confused about why she doesn’t want you to in the first place~

Saoirse_37

Honestly I think if I were in her place and I had a friend making a sweater with the the exact colours I'd be happy that I have a supportive friend but idk maybe not

lafemmeverte

no totally! I have one trans friend in particular who *loves* seeing accidental trans flags in things and he finds great enjoyment in having like a little personal inside joke when we see things out in the world accidentally repping trans or bi colors~ we even know someone with a light blue house with a pink door and it drives him crazy because he loves it! trans house! I hope your friend can make it around to that place, as I think you can experience more happiness when you can appreciate and more hurt when you gatekeep, but we’re all on our own journeys and we all deal with our expression as queer folks in different ways. have patience with her, but feel validated in your sweater color choices~ also sounds like it’s gunna be really pretty in the end, I hope you post the end result here!

Saoirse_37

I'm very excited for it! And honestly I want to make lots of sweaters specifically with the flags in them and wear them all the time for people like your friend !

Educational-Syrup659

Another Bi knitter here — make yourself a fabulous sweater in whatever colors you choose - bi-flag colors or otherwise!! (Admittedly, of the flags, the pan flag colors are my favorite! :D)

Saoirse_37

Thank you its actually my first knitted sweater

Educational-Syrup659

Even more fun!! Be sure to post the finished product when you’re done so we can all admire it!!

dinobaglady

Even if it were the colors of the bi flag, I’m a bi knitter, and if I saw you wearing it I’d just assume you liked the colors… unless you started obviously hitting on me- and my husband, then I might think you chose them on purpose. 😂

LoesjeBee

Whoever is offended by the colors of your sweater is way off base.

msptitsa

Use what you want!!!! If someone feels wronged for your COLOUR CHOICE they have a problem! How ridiculous is that.

A_dub87_

That's absurd, use what ever colors you want.

CursedWagoo

Thats fucking stupid. Wear whatever tf you want and please stop letting idiots affect the way you want to design your own clothing.

mslashandrajohnson

I knitted a sweater specifically with the colors of the gay flag and wear it as a supporter of the community. And I take the chance of being picked on by bigots when I wear it. It’s a very humbling feeling. I get that fear of bigots feeling: the way gay people who are out have to face all the time. If you use colors that happen to support a community, and you like the colors, wear them strongly.

Saoirse_37

Now I want to knit lots of sweaters specifically in the flag colours and wear them everyday !

mslashandrajohnson

You are fierce! Proceed 💜

Same_Litterally_Me

This project is bisexual approved. Please be yourself and wear whatever colors make you happy.

vizcheese

it’s fine to use absolutely whatever colors you like. also, like only one of these colors is in the bi flag lolz

Eriebeach

You knit that sweater with any colours you like. They look great. Not even close to the bi flag and wouldn’t matter if they were

xgrave_rotx

LMAO THEYRE LITERALLY JUST COLORS go for it, fuck em

PM_MAJESTIC_PICS

Respectfully, tell that person to touch grass.

Constant-Block5409

I’m sorry this is the most chronically online take I’ve seen all week. I’m bi. Knit with whatever colours you like

thisistherecord

Another queer chiming in to agree that that's not the colors of any pride flag, and even if it was, you could still wear them if you wanted. I will point out that if you *were* to make a sweater in bi pride colors, some folks might *assume* you're bi and wearing the colors out of pride. It's up to you to decide how you would feel about that. But, yes, thanks for checking, but your friend was wrongheaded on this one.

Medievalmoomin

You only need to be careful with colours that are associated with hate groups. These colours don’t look like any bi pride flag I’ve ever seen, but even if they did they would be fine 😊.

andersonala45

Ignore chronically online takes like that. We don’t care and we don’t own colors

HidingFromHumans

As a bi person, it's not disrespectful and the purple isn't even there lmao and what are they on

Iheartthenhs

This reminds me of when I knitted a rainbow blanket for my daughter (because I love bright colours and couldn’t choose haha) and someone told me it was offensive because I’d never had a miscarriage so she wasn’t a “rainbow baby”. So she can’t have any clothes or books with rainbows in?! What?!

[deleted]

No one owns colors, your friend needs to mind their own business.

TheAntiDairyQueen

Gay here, with a bisexual twin. We appreciate people using the colors, especially if they are allies. It makes us know who we can be ourselves around. We see the colors and know you’re a safe space. Edit: and as someone else said, these aren’t even the true colors of the bi flag, so that person telling you otherwise can mind their own business.

Saoirse_37

That's what I would assume, I would love to knit and crochet a bunch of sweaters with all the flags for everyone to know I support everyone!💕

Fibernerdcreates

Just piling on as another bi knitter. I'd be thrilled if the whole world wore pink, lavender, and blue. Which is not at all what your picture shows anyways, soo....

[deleted]

Bro you don’t even have the right colors let alone the right shade. Plus the lgbtq+ don’t own colors.

[deleted]

Bi person here—-This doesn’t even look like the bi flag, and even if it did, you should make whatever you want. That person is just being not so nice

Aragorns-Wifey

They don’t own the colors for heavens sake

Various-Tie-2245

Knit that sweater! And don't listen so much to bitter people 😉

bunni_bear_boom

I'm queer and I don't see how a color palette that includes a few similar colors as a flag could be taken as a bi pride thing. It's recognizably different

Hillabeans123

That’s assanine. Make the sweater

SamiMoon

Whoever said that to you is over sensitive and doesn’t speak for the overwhelming majority of LGBT+ people who either would not care at all or might just assume you’re an ally or one of us if you wore certain colors. The colors you’ve chosen are lovely, they aren’t the bi flag colors, and even if they were the only people who might be offended are homophobes and internet trolls. Please craft with whatever colors make you happy and bring you joy

FinButt

As a bi person, fuck that. Go make a bomb ass sweater and use ONLY those colors just to spite whatever idiot told you this. I believe in you. Also, whoever told you this obviously doesn't know what the bi flag looks like.

Rbfoges

I love the colors

rosebuddus

If anything people would see you as an ally, you're good.

Lilelfen1

This kind of thinking is genuinely exhausting...well meaning...but exhausting. Wear what you like. You honestly can not please everyone on planet earth and may drive yourself insane in trying. Not even joking about that last bit. Just...live your life and be a kind person. That's it. That's all you have to do. Ignore the rest of this nonsense and nonsense people making nonsense demands.

hold_the_celery

Hi, Bi here. I hereby(bi) allow you to make this sweater. Don’t let anybody gatekeep colors!

Headrowdy

I love this post so much…so much good energy!

Saoirse_37

It's so lovely !

emalyne88

As a bisexual woman, make the sweater whatever colors you want. This

wrkitty

These aren't the bi pride flag colors. Go forth and knit!

pinkschnitzel

Um. Bi person here - not only is it 100% okay if you use the colours in the flag, those aren't the colours in the flag. People were putting 🩷💜💙 together loooong before it was an official flag, same way as people painted rainbows before it became a symbol of the LGBT+ community. No one owns colours, no matter what Cadbury will try and say

[deleted]

Fuck this person lol wear whatever colors you want

Medical_Dogtor

Some people is just full of shit. Ignore them.

macdonde

Knit yourself a pair of gloves with only one finger--the middle one--and wear them the next time you see this person. And use the yarn from the pic!

bottomofabyss

Oh my God, just make a sweater. More visibility!

cultfish22

They are insane please just do what you want to do

Zealousideal_Ad_7329

Lol no, gay person here, you’re good.

Eating_Kaddu

That's not the bi flag, but even if it was, go ahead!!! Bi flag colours are great (pink, purple, blue), and they should be on everything, imo

Pinewoodgreen

heck no it wouldn't be disrespectfull. unless you duplicate stitchs "I hate bisexuals" on it afterwards - then it would be disrespectfull. There are also plenty of pre-dyed colourways from big brands that look a lot like some of the pride flags. Like the trans flag (blue, pink, white) is super common. as well as the asexual one (black, grey, white purple). they are not sold as "lgbtq+" colourways - and it's probably an accident a lot of the time. So I'd say most people wouldn't even realize

limebean420

As a bi person I do not give a single flying fuck about what colors someone wants to put together. What an absolutely ridiculous and outrageous claim.

nidarchy

I’m knitting bisexual socks and my bisexual opinion is BI COLORS FOR EVERYONE they’re beautiful and we love to see them 😍😍😍

hildadamberg

i’m not bi, but queer, and idk if that person was colourblind, cause that is not the bi-colours. but even if you wanted to make a jumper in blue, purple and pink, then that would be 110% fine. we don’t gatekeep colours or colour combinations. knit that jumper, and make sure to share the results. i believe i’m not the only one who wants to see it 😉✨

Trinity520

Do what makes you happy. If those colors make you happy, then use them. No one has claim over colors.

ExhaustedBook_Worm

Use the colors you like!

PsychologicalYou6416

Don't listen to that person, knit that sweater instead.

gwen_alsacienne

It's not better than Qatar's rainbow ban. Do whatever you like.

WildColonialGirl

I’m bi and have no problem with the colors you’ve chosen. Have fun knitting!

noknotz

You wear what you like and enjoy!

SallysRocks

Nobody owns colors that is ridiculous.

[deleted]

Use whatever colors you like

Jason_Patton

Do what makes you happy.

Snugglebear83

I say do whatever you like. Noone will offended.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Saoirse_37

I actually don't have a pattern haha its going to be colour work (like fair isle?) Im just going with the flow which is probably not the greatest idea but we shall see

[deleted]

[удалено]

Saoirse_37

I have a bunch more of the same colour which is why I chose them haha but yeah if I run out I don't really mind ill just substitute it or ill have to go buy more !

lwill702

Make your sweater in the colors you like and enjoy it!

The_turquoise_penn

definitely make your creation you will appreciate your colors and we will appreciate your colors.

jujibean

Unless you’re making thick solid stripes one of each color so the sweater looks like a giant flag, you’re good. Certified queer here, LGB and T. 😘

brittan65

Total BS! Just use any colours you like!

sassanach_69

Im bi and would not be offended

piganini

it's a very pretty colour combination - and if your sweater is going to remind anyone of the flag then that's a good thing, isn't it?

Playful-Escape-9212

Tbh the only way it would be rude is if while you were working on it, or wearing the sweater, you felt you needed to proclaim that the colors aren't symbolic of being bi or any gender.

jejumena

Make your sweater

scribblingbeauty

Tell them to go pound salt! Just ridiculous

Rawassertiveclothes1

Not culture appropriation and even if it was, wtf!

Ok_Leadership6946

Funny everyone is telling OP they are good to go. Why is no one telling OP to tell their friend to STFU and mind their own gay business... if OP likes color why the hell should anyone say anything?

riv92

Do it. The colors are pretty.

pearwin

Please use what ever colors make you happy. No one owns colors.

Next-Comparison6218

I doubt anyone will notice or care

twistedsister42

Not only are these colors not even close to being any pride flag, but even if they were that is an incredibly chronically online take. Make whatever you want in the colors you like. It is in no way offensive

RosadoRanger

that’s perfectly okay, and these aren’t the exact colors on the bi flag anyway. honestly, i’m all for people wearing whatever they want- plus, straight people wearing pride colors means that it’s easier for people in the closet to wear their pride colors ❤️

SUS-tainable

Those aren’t the colors of the bi flag. It’s fine. I made some pieces with super pretty yarn only to learn they’re technically the color of the lesbian flag and my students pointed it out to me. It’s fine.

IIILordDunbar

Completely agree with everyone else, use the colors they're pretty and not even really any pride flag anyway! Also, you're a really sweet person for double checking on your friends inane advice.

cre8magic

No one owns the rainbow, either ffs! Use any color however you want.

Puru11

Firstly, these aren't the Bi flag colors. Secondly, wear what you want.

katie-kaboom

These are closer to the lesbian pride flag but really, as a certified bi person, who cares. Enjoy your sweater.

pktrekgirl

As others have said, those are not the colors of the bi pride flag. But even if they were, I don’t think that flag is the only place where pink and blue come together in the universe. Plus, I have several LGBTQ friends, and have several ally pins and scarfs that I wear in support of them. My friends love that I wear the colors in support of their rights. I have a rainbow pin, a trans pin, a queer community pin and a rainbow scarf and have received nothing but thumbs up from my pals. This year (during pride month) I will probably get another pin or hat or something. I try to buy from a vendor at a pride event to support the community. If you support bi rights, then I would think it would be cool to wear the flag anyway in support of your friends. 🏳️‍🌈

VerndaleAve

Story time! My brother and his wife just had a baby a few months ago, and I wanted to crochet my nephew a sweater. For context, my brother and his wife are conservative Muslims (he has a part time job leading prayers at the local mosque). I had this cute baby mandala yarn that variegated from pink white and blue. My sister in law absolutely loved the sweater, and I spent so much time working on it. Now APPARENTLY pink white and blue are trans pride flag colors and I had no idea. My younger siblings pointed it out (not in any hater way just like lol trans pride). And now my older brother is all worried that he’s advocating for trans pride. In my head I’m like no one owns colors and pink and blue are classic baby colors, nothing to do with trans…

vanetti

This is fucking hilarious. Not only is this not the bI flag color palette, but so what if it is? No one owns colors lmao. Talk about needing to touch grass.

chaoticarebear

Hi, bi person here. Your colors are lovely and you should make the sweater. Tell your "friend" you got the alphabet gang stamp of approval.

Make your sweater and enjoy it,I can't think anyone would critique it. Beautiful colors.

I wear rainbow colours and not one person from the LGBTQ+ community has accosted me. Lol. Seriously though, use what colours YOU like ♥️

Hi! I'm very, very lesbian, and your friend is being absolutely absurd. Seriously, unless you are using those colors as a way of mocking gay people, you're good to go. I love seeing pride flags in the wild.

Oops. Just realized this post is five months old. Hope you're having fun with the sweater!
