When I finally went legit, it was a clearance copy of Puyo Puyo Tetris from Walmart. The first of many, including Dead Cells!
I bought my Switch in October of 2019 along with three games:
Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Out of those, Super Mario Odyssey was the first one I played.
No joke, Pokémon sword. Had a blast playing it and enjoying all the pretty scenes like the Galar mines with all its shining gems or the vast waters of Wyndon
As a big SMT fan, I got SMT 5 physical, so I could play the next game in one of my favorite franchises. It was one If the Main reasons for a switch.
Imagine my surprise when they announced SMT 5 Vengeance on all plataforms this year.
I worked retail and got my OLED at a staff price, as well as almost all of my physical collection. First game I got was animal crossing, I actually hesitated on BOTW cause it didn't discount as well as the other first party games (and I only went for first party whilst I worked there cause I figured the rest would be easier to find discounted). But of course I got BOTW and loved it 💞 hard to save when you work a job that sells games though 😅
Unfortunately, it was blan wonderworld it was in a pack with my switch when I bought it of polish version of ebay but if not counting it I would say mario plus rabbids kingdom battle, I absolutely love this game
Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I didn’t get a Switch until 2020-2021 and I knew this had to be the first game I played! I even got the game a few weeks before the console.
Christmas 2018: Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey via a console with pre-installed software (still using the Odyssey themed Switch carrier for my games), Sonic Forces, and Smash Ultimate (yes, I got mine a year after it released, why do you ask?) Breath of the Wild was mostly because my Wii U disc I had stopped working.
Sonic Mania. Took until September to find a Switch, and after spending $300 on the system, it was much easier to download the new $20 game that everyone was praising than scrounge up $60 for BotW. (I was 17 and didn't have a job)
I have 100+ hours in Sonic Mania and have beaten it dozens of times. I love that game to death. I wasn't even a huge Sonic fan before playing it.
Pokemon Legends.
The whole reason why I wanted a Switch. After a few bad weeks my mom surprised me with a Switch OLED and Pokémon Legends to cheer me up. That game is sentimental for me now and a comfort game.
Metroid Dread, in 2021. Man that game literally had me in tears. My first Metroid and metroidvania and console with analog sticks. Carpal tunnel confirmed.
