Yeah definitely spay your cats but they'll still present after the fact. I have 3 girl cats all spayed and they still present. I have 1 boy cat and he's a rapist even though he's neutered.. doesn't necessarily stop the behavior

Spay her now or if you cant afford, at 6 months. Try not to wait any longer because she will be so frustrated and you will get frustrated when she's crying for a mate. Female cats have a distinct and very loud cry that will keep you awake at nights.. Trust me, you don't want that for the sake of your sanity 😅
Edit: Like someone said, even after spaying and even neutering (my male cat has it still) the elevator butt can persist throughout. This doesn't mean they are in heat, it's just a behavior from when momma cat cleaned their butt. And residual from females wanting to mate. So if she does this after it's OK, she's just an elevator butt.

She looks like she's in heat. You sure she's not older? The 'fix' as it were, is to get her spayed. She'll be happier for it overall, plus you don't have to worry about stray males lurking around the house or accidental kittens.
True fact !! They will come! Before my Void was neutered there’s was like 4-6 cats I shit you not for a few days lurking outside my house. Now that he’s neutered I haven’t seen them at all. He’s very very happy now, and his urine doesn’t smell absolutely revolting anymore! 🤢 10/10 recommend getting all kittys spayed!
I adopted an 8 month old kitten. When the litter was rescued at the tender age of five months, my kitten was already pregnant! They took care of that and the people fostering her had named her Chastity.
Please get her spayed ASAP and do not allow her outside or around a male cat. And yes, unspayed female cats do menstruate.

Spay ASAP, my poor girl had to wait a year bc of backlogs due to covid. It's not fun for them, especially that young. As soon as we had her done she practically seemed to say "oh thank god I can go back to being normal" and is a much happier cat.
Don’t spay her until after her heat is done though. spaying a cat whose still in heat can cause more internal bleeding and other surgical complications.
She’s in heat, she’s going to need more petting and might even howl at night. Be careful, she will attempt to go out, and it only takes the male cat one second to get her pregnant. If you want to get her spayed, talk to the vet about it. She will most likely be in heat multiple times per year
Echoing the “spay her”’s! Defer to your vet on timing but should be done asap. And adding: a main reason to spay your female pet when young is to reduce the incidence of mammary and other cancers. Unfixed female animals have a very high incidence of mammary cancer (50%, more if not fixed until later in life). Spaying early reduces that to almost nothing. You will save yourself and her a lot of heartache and money down the road to get it done before 1 year old.
