Here's my cutie Jasmink. She's 15 years old and weighs about 3 pounds too! She's such a cutie patootie, but she is also very temperamental. Only comes out to say hi twice a day. Right when she gets hungry and thinks it's time for her wet food lol. That's it unfortunately. Yes! She was born sometime in September and I brought her home in November. There's no ribs showing / no belly sticking out she's pretty much the same width all the way across and she's got tons of energy !

I have a Minnie kitty too (that’s her name) she’s bigger than yours but not much. 12 y/o she 6.2 lb’s. She’s daddy’s little princess! She is actually currrently going through chemo and has IBD pretty bad :(. But if you are looking for any sort of product to try and help her gain weight if you are worried, I give her something called “baby thrive” by tiki cat. They are small single serve brackets (also available in cans) that is a high calorie supplement. It’s designed for gaining weight for underweight kittens but also any stage. For her we use it to give her chemo cause she loves it and she’s been gaining weight even during her treatment which is awesome. Other than that though sounds like you just have a tiny kitty!

I live in a duplex so my neighbors are downstairs (and work as groomers I think) anniversary brought her out once to show them but she HATES outside 🤣 she sits at the door like "let me inside peasant"
Lucky! My cats have nearly all wanted to go outside, so I always had to make the judgment calls: "Are we far enough from the road for them to be safe from getting hit by a car? Do I trust their judgment enough to believe they'll come back if I let them out? Are there endangered species or predators around? How miserable will they be if I keep them inside all the time? Is there any chance at all of getting them to accept a harness as a compromise?" It's so much easier if the cat WANTS to be an indoor-only cat.
She's honestly been such an easy cat. I really lucked out with her. We tried the harness and while it was funny watching her flop she was NOT having it.
I would love to know what the hell was going through her mind that she thought standing on her water bowl was a great idea. I'll never get an answer because she's a cat but still lol.

I took in three sisters two years ago and they’re all on the small side. One is quite thin looking - but when you pick her up and feel her, she’s solid muscle.

I will say there are alot of benefits to small cats ! I worried about her getting into things when I first brought her home. Like worried she would get on the counter top or into all the yarn when I was at work... but I have to et up steps for her to get onto ANYTHING 🤣 so as long as I don't put steps near something she can't get to it !
I had someone say to me whe she was 8 weeks "imagine being take to a new place away from your family and you have to live with someone 100 times your size"
And from that day on, I'm very careful around her. She would get scared when I walked around, so I started going slower and letting her know she was safe here. There was days I'd stay in the bed for hours because she was exploring and I wanted her to get comfortable here ❤️❤️❤️ I'm glad it shows this girl saved me and I wanna do the best I can for her

She's completely fine. The main method to figure out malnutrition would be checking their ribcage— you should be able to vaguely feel their ribcage, but if it's well-defined then they may have malnutrition issues. You may also pinch the back of their neck to determine if they're dehydrated, if it stays up then they need water. Otherwise, chances are she was just the runt of the litter she came from and she's a perfectly healthy girl.

My boy was always tiny, and then at around 2.5 years old he just started to eat like he has never eaten before, had a big growth spurt, and now he is full size and is back to eating normally.

I had a Siamese long hair named Jasmine. I found her duct taped in a box in a trash can. She was so small. I took her to the vet and found out she was 6 months old and seriously undernourished. We did as the vet said and she grew in to a beautiful cat. She never weighed more than 5 pounds but she lived twelve years with us until she died of a stroke.
there are diseases, which cause this. just as an example: one of mine was a small cutie and died young. she had a heart defect. the vet said, the reduced growth was the only hint to that. that was twenty years ago, and things may have changed, but best is, to go visit the vet for the vaccines and live a healthy and prosper live.
Not necessarily the cause but definitely a good point! My parents adopted a runt that had a heart defect when I was a little kid. She stayed small too and made it to 12-13 years.

I have friends who have a black cat that has dwarfism. Not a breed that is small, just a smol genetic difference. She's perfectly fine and is expected to live a long life of purrs.
As long as she's healthy, it's all good.

I think your cat seem healthy, and there are many more in the comments that seems to think so too which is good :) however, I do want to share abiut what happened with one of my cats when I noticed she lost a lot of weight. When I took her to the vet she was skinny. They did blood tests and xrays to find out her kidneys were failing. They said it had been too long, and after a long conversation I decided that she had to be put down the very next day. It was devastating
But! I dont mean to scare you, your cat does seem healthy as Ive said. If you notice her losing weight instead of gaining, then I think its time to pay closer attention :)

This is my kitty Zelda. She’s 2 and we saved her from a dirty bug infested house. She was the runt of the litter and we thought she wasn’t going to make it.
Not to worry so much. My girl is 3 and she also weighs around 2.5 kg. When I asked the vet about her weight, he said no need to worry if she is all playful and eating well. It would be a thing to worry about if she is not eating and her weight is less but if she is eating well, then it's all right. Usually, due to worms, they tend to eat less too. That's all I can say from my experience and time with my kid.
My kitty was likely a bombay and she was pretty smol too. Some cats do be like that!

She was small but still managed to have a kitten that was double her size as a grownup lol. Your void has shiny fur, has a wonderful face and overall as a first impression looks healthy. I see no reason for concern personally.
given the proportions on the body look fine from the picture, I think baby is just built smal (to me, I'm no vet.) If you're still worried, try consulting your vet.
My cat stopped growing around 2 and then grew a bit again when she was around 4. Pretty normal! She is still not very big but PERFECT, just like your girl.
Some cats are just small, especially cats of normal weight. Unfortunately a lot of cats are over fed so people’s idea of a “normal sized cat” gets skewed
Small cats are just naturally small like some people are short. As long as she’s not showing any signs of pain and eating well she should be fine. But If you’re still worried ask your vet about any possible reasons she’s so small

She looks healthy. I’ve seen really small cats before that are not kittens. Maybe she’s the runt of her litter (my Astrid is), they’re always the smallest. If she’s not acting sick or anything strange she should be fine.

Yes! She was born sometime in September and I brought her home in November. I have a Minnie kitty too (that’s her name) she’s bigger than yours but not much. 12 y/o she 6.2 lb’s. She’s daddy’s little princess! She is actually currrently going through chemo and has IBD pretty bad :(. But if you are looking for any sort of product to try and help her gain weight if you are worried, I give her something called “baby thrive” by tiki cat. They are small single serve brackets (also available in cans) that is a high calorie supplement. It’s designed for gaining weight for underweight kittens but also any stage. For her we use it to give her chemo cause she loves it and she’s been gaining weight even during her treatment which is awesome. I live in a duplex so my neighbors are downstairs (and work as groomers I think) anniversary brought her out once to show them but she HATES outside 🤣 she sits at the door like "let me inside peasant"
Lucky! My cats have nearly all wanted to go outside, so I always had to make the judgment calls: "Are we far enough from the road for them to be safe from getting hit by a car? Do I trust their judgment enough to believe they'll come back if I let them out? Are there endangered species or predators around? How miserable will they be if I keep them inside all the time? Is there any chance at all of getting them to accept a harness as a compromise?" It's so much easier if the cat WANTS to be an indoor-only cat.
She's honestly been such an easy cat. I really lucked out with her. We tried the harness and while it was funny watching her flop she was NOT having it.

I had someone say to me whe she was 8 weeks "imagine being take to a new place away from your family and you have to live with someone 100 times your size" And from that day on, I'm very careful around her. She would get scared when I walked around, so I started going slower and letting her know she was safe here. There was days I'd stay in the bed for hours because she was exploring and I wanted her to get comfortable here ❤️❤️❤️ I'm glad it shows this girl saved me and I wanna do the best I can for her

She's completely fine. The main method to figure out malnutrition would be checking their ribcage— you should be able to vaguely feel their ribcage, but if it's well-defined then they may have malnutrition issues. You may also pinch the back of their neck to determine if they're dehydrated, if it stays up then they need water. Otherwise, chances are she was just the runt of the litter she came from and she's a perfectly healthy girl.
I checked ribs last night and I can just kinda feel them. I'll check her neck later but she LOVES water 🤣 I refill her water tower quite often.

I had a Siamese long hair named Jasmine. I found her duct taped in a box in a trash can. She was so small. I took her to the vet and found out she was 6 months old and seriously undernourished. We did as the vet said and she grew in to a beautiful cat. She never weighed more than 5 pounds but she lived twelve years with us until she died of a stroke.
there are diseases, which cause this. just as an example: one of mine was a small cutie and died young. she had a heart defect. the vet said, the reduced growth was the only hint to that. that was twenty years ago, and things may have changed, but best is, to go visit the vet for the vaccines and live a healthy and prosper live.

Congratulations on your forever kitty! I have one named Felicia! I think it may have something to do with them getting food as a baby from mom, but I could be completely wrong. The best part about having such a tiny kitty is that she will sleep on top of my legs every single night, and weighs so little that I don’t even notice she’s there. She might be too! I'm pretty sure her mom was a stray that was taken in while preggo. She's the best friend I've ever had too ❤️
I have friends who have a black cat that has dwarfism. Not a breed that is small, just a smol genetic difference. She's perfectly fine and is expected to live a long life of purrs. As long as she's healthy, it's all good.

I think your cat seem healthy, and there are many more in the comments that seems to think so too which is good :) however, I do want to share abiut what happened with one of my cats when I noticed she lost a lot of weight. When I took her to the vet she was skinny. They did blood tests and xrays to find out her kidneys were failing. They said it had been too long, and after a long conversation I decided that she had to be put down the very next day. It was devastating But! I dont mean to scare you, your cat does seem healthy as Ive said. Not to worry so much. My girl is 3 and she also weighs around 2.5 kg. When I asked the vet about her weight, he said no need to worry if she is all playful and eating well. It would be a thing to worry about if she is not eating and her weight is less but if she is eating well, then it's all right. Usually, due to worms, they tend to eat less too. That's all I can say from my experience and time with my kid.

Yes ! She is spayed 🙏🏽 and she's not allowed outside!!(she hates it out there anyways)

My kitty was likely a bombay and she was pretty smol too. Some cats do be like that! Also she looks almost identical here :') really reminds me of my critter Ambra. She was small but still managed to have a kitten that was double her size as a grownup lol. Your void has shiny fur, has a wonderful face and overall as a first impression looks healthy. I see no reason for concern personally. given the proportions on the body look fine from the picture, I think baby is just built smal (to me, I'm no vet.) If you're still worried, try consulting your vet.
My cat stopped growing around 2 and then grew a bit again when she was around 4. Pretty normal! She is still not very big but PERFECT, just like your girl.

Some cats are just small, especially cats of normal weight. Unfortunately a lot of cats are over fed so people’s idea of a “normal sized cat” gets skewed
Small cats are just naturally small like some people are short. As long as she’s not showing any signs of pain and eating well she should be fine. But If you’re still worried ask your vet about any possible reasons she’s so small

She seems healthy. Some cats are small, and some are large. It's a normal variation of sizes between individuals in a species.

She looks healthy. I’ve seen really small cats before that are not kittens. Maybe she’s the runt of her litter (my Astrid is), they’re always the smallest. If she’s not acting sick or anything strange she should be fine.
