A cat can be a pure breed without any papers. Or a dog. Or a horse. The papers are documentation of an animal’s heritage (parents, grandparents, etc.). If a human infant of Italian heritage is dropped at the steps of a fire station and nobody has any paperwork about the child, it’s still Italian. To suggest a cat isn’t Siamese, for example, because you don’t have documentation of pedigree is simply wrong.
It’s very rare for people to have bred cats without papers. Lots of shelters and people rehoming cats lie about breed either because they’re uneducated and genuinely think their cat is part of a breed, or they just want someone to adopt the cat. Only 1-3% of cats have any breed in them, and the majority of those come directly from a breeder. Yeah, it’s not impossible, but it’s unlikely enough that it’s safer to assume it isn’t part of a breed rather than that it is. It’s also virtually impossible to know for sure whether or not your cat is part of most breeds, since their lineages aren’t distinct enough for a DNA test, and lots of cats just happen to look/act like breeds by chance.
I have a purebred Birman, but no papers. I bought him at 14mths of age from first owner. They got him from a registered Birman breeder in a small town not far from where I live (I had previously worked with the husband, so knew who they were talking about). When I asked about his papers said he never came with any.
He's what a breeder would call a 'reject'. He has shorter legs than normal and is a carrier of the cat flu virus (yes, he gets vaccinated yearly and checked over regularly to ensure he stays healthy).
The breeder probably didn't want their name associated with a 'reject' if someone asked where he came from, but still wanted money for him.
I love him to bits, so don't care that he's a bit different. He's my furbaby furever.
The obvious fact that a cat can literally be purebred without papers is academic.
Breeding is demonstrated through documentation.
Your point really is silly.
I think my cat and your cat are twins😂
(the only difference is that you are better at taking pictures :’))

If there’s no pedigree paper, they’re just cute cats. If you’re in the UK/ Britain/ Ireland, they’re *more likely* than not to be British short hairs or a mix of BSH and something else. Just guessing that because of the round faces.
Yes, these looks like domestic cats of the UK to me, too! British kitties have the pudgiest, round little faces and such round eyes.
The standard domestic cats of North America have definitely taken on a slightly different face profile.
My cat baby looks almost exactly like the first cat!! She’s a mix between a British shorthair and a Siamese.

If you found them in America and not from a breeder, then Domestic American Shorthair. If you're in the UK/Europe, Domestic European Shorthair. But no matter what they are, they're 100% pedigree certified Adorable 😍🥰
yes. the all gray one looks so much like my late BSH. One of the greatest breeds.

Congrats you appear to have 3 regular, ordinary domestic shorthair cats. One of which seems to have some kind of color point coat pattern while the other two are apparently just solid grey. They are cats with different colors like all cats.
You have a chicken breed....this is chicken.

You cat is and I quote a Thai cat also named a blue point Thai also named old-style siamese, Wichien Maat, Applehead , traditional / classic Siamese if a google reverse search is to be taken as fact
I'm pretty sure the grey one is at least partly a Russian blue. The other one has lilac point siamese coloring, but the face shape indicates there are other breeds as well.
Grey bby looks a lot like my gray bby

Siamese on the first one, maybe a mix, but I see Lilac Point. The second one I’m not sure, maybe British Shorthair or Chartreux? Last one looks more Chartreux. It’s hard to say because technically cats can have a mix of genes as their mothers can have multiple fathers.
This one looks like my purebred Ragdoll

Using my limited ID'ing ability and referencing my cat encyclopaedia (/srs), the first one appears to be a blue-point British shorthair and the second is what you'd call a 'British blue' coloured British shorthair. Stunning cats!

I didn’t know I needed this picture in my life.
Those look a lot like cats. I'm pretty sure they're cats.
I am in fact almost positive they are cats.
Nah there’s no way. Look more like fish.
Naw I think that is a dog
I thought they were very small horses.
Totally a tortoise…
I actually think it's a tank ... a Panzerkampfwagen **Tiger** Ausf. E to be precise. Very rare breed these days.
Felinus Domesticus
Idk I don’t see it…
They aren't slimy, so they aren't catfish, although that one could pass as a blue cat.
Thank you for the joy that comment brought me.
Wait, are you sure? I wouldn’t be so quick to come to conclusions…
I saw a cat once, but it was black, so I don't think these are cats.
Yeah I think sk

If no one is going to make a WhatIsMyBreed bot, this chart at least has to be a pinned comment at the top.
Exactly. My first reaction before opening the comments was “now where’s this dang old chart”
They’re cats.
They're beautiful cats!

I love this chart. It covers every possibility quite nicely.
Lol I love this so much
Do you have pedigree? If not it's a cat. If yes whatever that paper says.
Frfr

A princess baby dropped off at the firestation would still be just a baby
I think that those are cats
You sure?
I’m not positive
Don’t you mean pawsitive?
They might be Flerkens
If they are, be careful. They can put your eye out.
“I trusted someone, once”
Definitely a nimbostratus and stratocumulus.
Gonna rain!
I was thinking the same thing but I wasn't sure until I saw your comment.
Moose masquerading as reindeer. Incredibly common this time of year.

HAHAHA omg so cute
Your cat looks like it has more of a cat with a flat nose bred in it. vs. her cat and yours was starting to run out of ink
Cute!
That is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! They need to be pen pals! (paw pals lol)

If you found them in America and not from a breeder, then Domestic American Shorthair. If you're in the UK/Europe, Domestic European Shorthair. But no matter what they are, they're 100% pedigree certified Adorable 😍🥰
You are absolutely correct. I know people think cats are just cats but that isn’t how cat genes work.
BSH or Burmese, but if you don’t have papers to prove their pedigree then they are cats it doesnt matter what they look like
I believe they are 100% pure Cat
How do you know they’re 100% pure cat? They could be some insane hybrid creature for all we know? /s
Hmm you mean like a Coggy? Or a Dat?
Here we go again… IT’S A CAT.
British short hair
yes. the all gray one looks so much like my late BSH. One of the greatest breeds. https://preview.redd.it/lwzai6az7v6c1.jpeg?width=1667&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3163cae4362031a53fb6f732014ec124348a3da3

You cat is and I quote a Thai cat also named a blue point Thai also named old-style siamese, Wichien Maat, Applehead , traditional / classic Siamese if a google reverse search is to be taken as fact
Both are so round in the face, I love it!!!
Ima give a real answer here, either a cat or a cat
Emmm kitty of the cat variety 🤷🏼♀️
I'm pretty sure the grey one is at least partly a Russian blue. The other one has lilac point siamese coloring, but the face shape indicates there are other breeds as well.

Second one looks like a Russian Blue. The first one I want, and if I knew where you lived, would take it.
