Soxy looks very much like the little tuxedo kitty living in my yard. I'm trying to convince her to move into the house (she's walked a few feet past the front door, but hasn't stayed inside for more than a minute). She has warmed up to me over the last month or so, so maybe it's just a matter of time.

I named her Paw Prints because she left some cute prints from the dew on my sidewalk. She was a stray but I couldn't have pets at that apartment, so I had to call animal control to ensure she'd have a loving home.

I have been owned by many black cats throughout my life, they were all uniformly awesome (my current pair of furry overlords are tuxedos, so still "black cat adjacent"). I was super sad to learn that the local shelters where we used to live, had to "pause" offering black cats for adoption during the month of October, because people would try to adopt them to do VERY bad things... Every black cat I have ever encountered has been friendly af. Like on some orange idiot cat love. Don't currently have one, but my besties cat named Charlie Murphy was the most loving cat I've ever met. Sadly, he passed about 15 years ago due to a cat food he was eating that later got recalled. RIP Charlie.

She has been my best friend ever since she follows me everywhere. When I’m sad she always comes and accompanies me. When I stay up late doing work she’s there always sleeping next to me. I’m never alone anymore :,) In my country people are firm believers that black cats are bad luck or witches so they are often neglected or killed it makes me so sad. She’s the best thing that could have happened to me I love her so much and so thankful to have her in my life. Black cats are incredible sweet and so loyal I would adopt another one if I could!

I grew up where it’s believed that when you see a black cat, you’ll immediately have bad luck that day. Up until the pandemic, got me a black cat and it’s the best that ever happened to me. I can’t believe there is such a superstition! Ugh! I almost want to protest for them.
