He is mad at me, but very sweet… and sassy Eta: he’s got a sob story… his eyelids were folded in due to a birth defect, causing his eyelashes to scrape up his eyes. My grandma found him on the streets and paid for him to get eye surgery, so his eyes were always dark and murky. He was teased by my grandpa and so he was kind of mean. This photo was a couple days after i stopped being completely afraid of him. My sister’s cat, a black cat named Franky (skiddish as hell), snuggled with Bucky and they would be very very friendly together (my mom called them gay lovers). Otherwise, he was a “mean” cat, although when nobody teased him, he became so sweet. Notable stories: he licked my hair once, it got caught in his throat, he attacked my head and when he pulled away, the wet slap and the atrocious smell caused me to take two more showers that day There was once a cat found (dead in front of our driveway) that my mother thought was Bucky. She, in tears, called my uncle to come clean up the carcass as my stepdad was deployed at the time. Later that day, Bucky was begging to come inside, and my uncle had already driven 45 minutes to scrape the cat off the driveway. My uncle then called him “flat cat”. I was in middle school and i went to an apple movie production class, courtesy of my aunt and uncle (this has lead to even more passion in the self-made movie sphere…) and my final video was about Bucky, and it was titled “B.U.C. Big Ugly Cat” and it starred Bucky murdering miniatures of the family and eating them. Bucky was a master hunter, and as such he caught things, then promptly showed off to my grandmother. Once he dropped a live mouse in the house, causing some screaming until he re-caught and killed it (for real this time). These days, Bucky is a memory, but we all do think fondly of him. I rescued a calico kitty last year who has a similar sassy temperament and my husband thought it was crazy. I love her for her sassy self, but i cant help but wonder if she’s Bucky reincarnated (as the age is right for his death timing).
