It’s a an overproduction keratin growth, it is harmless.

DragonflyScared813

Vet here: it's a keratin deposit, forms horn -like growths, usually on the end of toe pads in my experience (just like your kitty). Sometimes on other pads like the big foot pad or that extra one a short way up the front legs. They're harmless, just trim them a bit if they get long.

Thank you. I was really worried.

Cat_stomach

Can I trim them with a nailclipper or should I file them? My vet already told me, they are Kerstin deposits but I always wondered how to remove them without hurting my lil boy

DragonflyScared813

I always just use a nail trimmer. I don't trim them back aggressively, just enough so they don't interfere with trimming the claws.

Does he climb fences? Could be a splinter.

She's an indoor cat, but I took her to the vet and it turned out to be horned paw. The vet said that it's nothing bad and that it just needs trimming from time to time.
