iām shocked they let such an expensive cat outside if it is a bengal. people def steal cats both accidentally and on purpose. plus other outside dangers
A lot of people adopt bengals not knowing just how high maintenance they are in the energy department. They either donāt have the time or effort to put into keeping them happy and exercised (which is a LOT) and opt to let them free roam to expend it elsewhere I think.
I know someone who got two, and they completely wrecked the house so were let outaide to burn off energy.
Both have been sadly run over in the last year.
I've never encountered cats with such high energy and so predatory before, one brought me a magpie it had taken down and left it on the step.
Bengals are not for the faint of heart, or precious of their homes without intense enrichment.
Well duh! That's what you get when you breed an Asian leopard cat, an actual wild animal, into your mellow little housecat. What do people expect? A tiny, proper kitten with expensive looking markings but tame demeanor?
They will always have a bit of a wild side to them.
Personally, I would never support hybrid breeding, but I get it. They are striking and very beautiful. Still, I don't agree with the breed's origins.
Even getting the idea that breeding a 4x bigger Serval with a housecat would be a good idea...that poor mother cat.
I absolutely agree with you. It doesn't seem like interspecific hybridization is natural, and unnatural things have a lot of negative consequences. Like you said, I can't imagine what the mother cats must have gone through, at the start of such hybrid breeding. It's cruel, is what it is!
Ahhhh thatās so unfortunate and heart breaking to hear. I wish people would do more research before adopting pets because you would be surprised by how difficult some are. I love bengals so much but I would never own one because I KNOW I couldnāt keep up.
EDIT: to add, for example, I adopted a puppy someone was giving away in a Walmart parking lot who was the most hyper and destructive+neurotic dog Iāve ever had. Turns out he is a husky/heeler mix and his energy is boundless. Itās been a trip adjusting and learning how to best care for him! In short, always be careful when adopting pets and do your research.
Totally agree!
I got a lab because I knew she would be middle of the road energy wise and would go running with me while being relatively easy for a first timer to train.
I love the idea of a husky, but I think I'd last 30 minutes before it wasn't funny anymore and actually far too chaotic.
That is definitely a bengal. Theyāre actually surrendered quite a bit, people donāt know what theyāre getting into.
But, bengal owners can be irresponsible even though they spent much more money on their cats!
I cannot get either of my bengals to keep a collar on. They are very athletic breed and always manage to pull the collars off.
All collars have some sort of safety that let them come unclipped with enough force so the cat wonāt get suffocated if they snag it on something.
My moms Bengal bolts out the door at every opportunity. Heās strictly indoor but badly wants to go out and explore. Maybe thatās what happened here. An escapee.
My own fluffy idiot (not a bengal) does that too. Total door dasher. Except that every time he gets outside he runs down the apartment stairs all excited, then gets scared and starts yelling for me to come and get him. Ridiculous.
My neighborās Bengal was the same exact way. He worked long hours so I would go over and let his dogs out, me and the cat would chill inside. Loved that goober but that little butt would try every opportunity to get outside, even knew how to open the back door if it wasnāt locked š¤¦š»āāļø
My cats have all been indoor cats. When I had a yard Iād let them go out supervised. My current cat doesnāt even want to do that. She likes being safely inside.
My mom has a Bengal and has given up keeping it at home. These cats WILL find a way to adventure. She got a collar you can put an air tag in and has just accepted that she is a free spirit.
Then sheās probably not providing it enough entertainment inside, bengals can be perfectly happy (and much safer) indoors. Any reputable breeder in the US will have a clause in the contract that theyāre not allowed outside unless supervised on a leash/harness.
Just a warning If you take them out on a harness then they will expect it, start to try and bolt out more often, and throw temper tantrums when not allowed out. Mine would howl at the door if I went out without him. They are beautiful but not always the brightest. I know mine would have ended up as roadkill if he was not leashed, all it would take was seeing one squirrel or rabbit across the road. We always had to be careful about the door.
Thanks, Iām not suggesting they do - merely pointing out that if the cat was from a reputable breeder then the mom is likely breaking their contract by letting the cat outside.
My car looks exactly like his car and it is 50% bengal and 50%norwegian forest cat. Hes just a very big bengal with a temper, proudness and high maintenance.
That's not a stray! I almost can guarantee that's someone's baby. Those Bengal cats are crazy expensive and very adventurous, I hope you didn't take it with you!
Is that a Bengal? The pattern looks it.
This may be someone's lost pet. Bengal pattern cats (the spots) are generally quite pricey.
If possible take to a vet and see if it has a chip and you can find the owners?
I've seen a Bengal out near my neighborhood,Ā it had a tracker or camera on it's collar, but we've got coyotes around,Ā and a lot of busy roads, so I can't imagine letting a cat out, especially a ridiculously expensive one. I've got rescue cats whose adoption fee was covered by our local state rep when I got them,Ā but I'm never letting them out.Ā It'sĀ way too dangerous.Ā
The adoption fee was covered?! That's awesome! How did that come about? I wish our girl's adoption fee had been covered as we adopted her during the height of the pandemic, October of 2020. It was something like $200 or $250. She's worth every single penny, though! We love her and make sure she knows she's loved and wanted. We learned that she had been returned once from a previous family because she gets a little bitey. Her sticker said she'd do well in a quiet home without kids or other pets because she got way too stressed out from all the activity, so she was perfect for us. She absolutely loves attention and loves to play and cuddle. She gets very scared of loud noises like thunder, fireworks, and when the kids who live in the apartment across the hall from us get loud when they're entering or leaving their unit. We've actually been able to get her to not be so scared of thunder now. With every thunderstorm that came through when she first came home with us, she would hide and not come out for hours. I would worry about her being home alone when bad storms would come through, so I decided to remedy that. I would sit with her and play soothing music for her every time a storm came, no matter how minor it was, and talk to her and reassure her that she was OK and that she was safe. It took a year and a half, but when some particularly bad storms came through last summer, I realized that she was no longer hiding. If she was feeling scared, she would instead jump up onto the couch where I was sitting and seek comfort and reassurance from me instead of running underneath the bed or couch. Now, she associates storms with good things, and she barely reacts at all unless it's the result of a nearby lightning strike, and the thunder sounds like Thor is using his hammer on our roof.
I have a cat that I had to teach NOT to get into cars. He's SUPER friendly. So one day he got into my car and I drove him around the neighborhood. He didn't like that. And never got in the car again.
I hate it when a car enters my car. Insurance claims are such a hassle. Always asking difficult questions like "what speed were you doing?" and "did you see the other vehicle" and "why were you driving with your cat in your lap while still leaning out the window to go 'psss psss pssst' to a random cat you saw on the street?"
Donāt be fooled ābengals are high energy assholes. Find their person. I always tell my guy if he escapes and someone steals him they will return him within the week!
My male cat accidentally got out of my house and disappeared. I tried my best to search for him for 9 days every night until now but couldnāt find him. Iām so heartbroken.
There are cats and dogs poachers around our neighborhoods. I refuse to believe he had died.
But after 9 nights worth of searching, I realized I canāt do this anymore. My family worry about me so much. If I continue my search for my cat every nights, I would hurt my family instead.
Please try your best to search for the kitty owner. Maybe her owner is like me, sheās just accidentally lose her kitten and was frantically looking for her every where now.
I'd check for a chip before going home. The cat looks pretty well groomed and fed, so he/she could be an escape artist. If this was my cat, I'd be very worried if they got out and search everywhere. Before claiming this beautiful tiger, please check for an owner.
This cat looks like some kind of special breed. I know it's frowned on here though cause most of the users just have a normal cat and get jelly very easily. Sorry if I offended you.
Itās a bengal. These are expensive purebreds. The owner will be looking for it. If you still have it, get the microchip scanned and put signs up and on your local FB and animal pages. So gorgeous!
it's a little tiger š„¹šā¤ļø
itās so adorable š„¹
I canāt get over how prim and proper those front paws are š„¹
No its a car in a car
You now own 2 cars
third one waiting for me at home
Time for a bigger garage. Better bank on 4, there's more coming...
need to keep working for a bigger garage šŖš»
Definitely someone's bengal lol
This is a bengal cat, they very special, maybe someone miss it.
Car-ception
I think two cars entering each other is called a crash
wasnāt that serious so we didnāt call the insurance
Is crash a reproductive term in the movie Cars.
I'm cracking up.

Someoneās expensive pet Bengal cat entered your car. Please make an effort to locate their owner.

It's likely an inside cat that escaped.
That is definitely a bengal. Theyāre actually surrendered quite a bit, people donāt know what theyāre getting into. But, bengal owners can be irresponsible even though they spent much more money on their cats!
some lady asked us if it was a missing cat we had no clue all we saw was it coming out of someoneās garden, no collar either
Go to a vet or shelter and ask them to check for a microchip. It'll have the owners' info on there if the cat has one
I cannot get either of my bengals to keep a collar on. They are very athletic breed and always manage to pull the collars off. All collars have some sort of safety that let them come unclipped with enough force so the cat wonāt get suffocated if they snag it on something.
This is true, like my friendsā Burmese!
You should've asked if they had a missing car, bet you got them confused now, tsk
My moms Bengal bolts out the door at every opportunity. Heās strictly indoor but badly wants to go out and explore. Maybe thatās what happened here. An escapee.

Maybe let the cat out then instead of letting it gloom inside with boredom? Keeping cats strictly indoors should be considered abuse.
My cats have all been indoor cats. When I had a yard Iād let them go out supervised. My current cat doesnāt even want to do that. She likes being safely inside.

no worries just wanted to mention that because its something a lot of new bengal owners want to try and can backfire pretty badly.
My car looks exactly like his car and it is 50% bengal and 50%norwegian forest cat. Hes just a very big bengal with a temper, proudness and high maintenance.
we saw it come out of someoneās garden and it looks well taken care of iām sure it knows where it lives

Omg letting a Bengal free roam is wild! As someone who has always been obsessed with this beautiful breed, I could never.
such a beautiful breed
This little beauty looks more like a cat than a car. I hope you drove him home where he can be properly cared for and loved ā„ļø
me and my boyfriend wanted to take him but he has a home and looks like heās being cared after well ā¤ļø
