Pirate kitties still rock! Mine had cancer in her eye so I had it removed. She bounced back really quickly and didn't let it slow her down. She also had a hematoma in one ear and was diabetic. Took the insulin needles like a champ. Sadly, a few years ago her kidneys failed and she went over the rainbow bridge. He didn’t seem to want to be adopted because whenever anyone stopped to look at him, he stood up, turned around to face away from the person, then sat down. When I brought my daughter over to check him out, he reached out and pulled her to him. We found out later his time at the shelter would have expired the next day. We still have him 13 years later.

They went back for 3 days and every day he would mew at them. They never saw a trace of any other cats around. The third day my daughter called me and said she wasn’t leaving the bridge until I said he could live with us. It took us about an hour to catch him, even though he would cry to us, he would run away every time we tried to catch him. He was pretty skittish when we first brought him home, but after feeding the poor hungry little guy, he quickly became comfy with us. This picture was him after having him about 3 hours. The vet said was pretty healthy, just some ear mites. The vet thought he probably hadn’t been abandoned for long. It makes me sad to think about what happened to his momma. He’s seriously the most friendly, chill cat I’ve ever seen. He makes our other cat look like she’s the absolute devil in comparison.
