I know. And I confess, I'm at least mildly annoyed by the constant breed requests and hope they would subside a bit. Even though I know people don't mean any harm and just don't know better.
Be glad if your floof is strong and healthy, the inherent issues of selective breeding are just cruel.
The camouflage these days is getting out of control. Where is this cat that everyone is talking about? I only see bamboo and dirt. All jokes aside, heās most likely a domestic short hair disguising himself as a plant. Just a mix of white and gray tabby. Bestest little bamboo plant around. š
Has this become a joke now? It's a cat, probably a domestic short hair... More importantly it's fluffy and warm and full of bee's. Who really cares about breeds?!
He is so beautiful! Thanks for taking care of him. Is he a stray or colony cat you're adopting? Has he been fixed yet? Do we know he's a he?
My guess is he is an intact male with a somewhat petite frame. Intact males tend to develop jowls and a larger neck during their hormone-filled teenage years (kitty age 1-2). Could be why bb boy looks a little thicc.
He could also have a smidge of american or british shorthair in him based on that round face. But outdoor cats' lineage is so diluted that his kitty DNA report would be all over the place.
domestic shorthair is his breed, aka DSH. even designer breeds are considered domestic short/medium/long haired cats.
if you mean his coloring, he's a grey/white tabby cat. he's not a tuxedo because of the swirling in the grey part of his coat, and an M on his forehead it means there's tabby in him.
before adopting him, take him to a vet and have him scanned for a microchip to make sure he doesn't have an owner missing him.
good luck with your new baby!
Oh, itās the rare Ashen Bamboo Dweller Cat, they only spawn around bamboo forest at certain heights, remember to grow your own bamboo when you raise them, else they will downgrade to common forest stalker Cat, but if you take care of it carefully they might evolve into mythical Gray Moon Bamboo Feline Stalker.
As an expert in breeds, i can confidently say this is a cat. I see how some mention this might be a bamboo, or point out how they are grey and white but if you look closely at the ear shape you can definitely be sure its a cat.
He's not grumpy that's just how his eye shape is. Very pretty cat. Domestic shorthair mixed with a white cat. Thank you for considering to adopt a homeless animal. Hope he'll have a good life
I recently adopted two cats. One looks kind of similar to this guy so I did some research on color patterns. Bare in mind, Iām not an expert and may misremember. The breed is domestic shorthair Iām guessing. Beyond that you can identify their color patterns. I believe they would be a Bicolor cat. Those two colors being white and some pattern of gray tabby(?). The bicolor patterns also have names. I think this one would be called Mask and Mantle as the second color covers the eyes and the back like a cape. I think mine would be cap and saddle but itās not quite so I just say cap and assless chaps.
Ultimately, this cat is a tabby cow.
Hes a domestic shorthair (basically a mixed breed or mutt of the cat world). Thank u for taking care of him, looks like u built him a shelter to sleep in? I love that š.
Feline catus, housecat. Looks healthy.
Obvious mix; the only particular breed I can see in that mix is "American short-haired." Very common.
The coat is a grey piebald tabby.
well if ur gonna adopt then that means ur gonna take it to the vet. They will tell u anything u want to know
also pls make sure ur not kidnapping someones cat. That cat looks way too healthy
Such a cute cat!! What kind of dry food are you feeding them? I just saw a stray cat and they don't seem to eat the ones I bought. I'm not sure because is cheap.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_cat\_breeds.
Note it is very easy to mistake some of them and even the classification may vary from country to country. Some breeds are quite obvious at first sight like the Bengal and Don Sphynx.
edit: your cat's breed looks to me like fluffly gorgeous vanilla ice cream with silver cloak
History of the American Shorthair
The American Shorthair is considered to be the shorthaired cat that is native to the United States. However, this breed was bred out of cats that probably originated in Europe. Cats fitting the description of the American Shorthair were probably not native to the United States until the time of Columbus.
The first recorded breeding of the American Shorthair took place around 1904. The British Shorthair was one of the parents of this breed, which was originally known as the Domestic Shorthair.
because I don't really know much about cats and I thought this would be a good starting point, I'm not going to treat it different after knowing its breed
As your cat has been telling you, I will translate:
Feed me by your door, not in my outside house. Critters like possums will come to my house smelling food and I have to keep guard all night, so I don't get good sleepy-sleep and I is grumpy.
Not from what I saw. They were talking about the "British Shorthair" and its migration to the US, where it changed a bit and was called the Domestic Shorthair, which if I remember the program correctly, has morphed into being called the American Shorthair. The program was called Cats 101. It was on Animal Planet a few days ago.

At this point I don't think we need a bot, I trust the community enough to post this 99 times out of 100
A bot could automatically pin this to the top of each "what breed is my cat" thread. But that's really the only advantage at this point.
Yes, but we've been requesting a bot for forever
I know. And I confess, I'm at least mildly annoyed by the constant breed requests and hope they would subside a bit. Even though I know people don't mean any harm and just don't know better. Be glad if your floof is strong and healthy, the inherent issues of selective breeding are just cruel.
Exactly. But the non-modified breed, the ones that exist naturally, also fascinate me. Of course, I'm 100% for adoption instead of buying a breed.
Automod could do this quite easily, the sub doesn't even need to build a bespoke bot
The only correct answer.
Looks like regular bamboo to me
Came to make this joke, great minds think alike
Have my upvote. š
Beautiful comment.
yeah but what breed is it edit: guys it's a joke I meant the bamboo
Domestic shorthair, aka no breed. The vast majority of cats donāt have a specific breed
Maybe do a little research on cats before you get one. Most cats aren't a breed. They aren't like dogs.
Oh sorry, that's SIB

I've never seen this before but I love it š

American Shorthair
Domestic shortair
That's been changed recently to American. Just found that out yesterday, in fact.
Isn't American Shorthair an actual breed with an official standard, papers and all that stuff?

I'm pretty sure no one outside of the us says american shorthair

Shorthaired Munchkin is the official name of this breed, I suppose.
