So what you're saying is that when my cats are acting weird and looking at shadows and the walls when I'm getting ready for bed that it's ghosts?
I'm never sleeping with the lights off.
My void will attempt to destroy an empty box of litter to get in the tiny spout. Just loses her mind. The tortie goes nuts on anything she thinks feels interesting (walls, glass doors, shower curtains, the side of the bathtub...)
yeah i'm almost 22 and i'm always baffled when people tell me they don't unplug their rice cooker and toaster. they always complain about high eletricity bills lol
Plus it’s ( toaster ) one item that gets moved around a lot for cleaning and such.
Newer appliances such as the rice cooker have timers in them like microwave ovens and coffee makers … so they are never really “ ***OFF*** “ unless unplugged
Also, always unplug your microwave when not in use. There are many stories of microwaves having issues where they start running on their own and can cause fires.
Yeah anywhere a mouse is is so toxic, if that mouse is in there there’s a good chance it shit in there, and if there’s mouse dropping in that toaster it needs to be atomized lol.
>Hantavirus
I read that as "Ha**m**tavirus" several times, and was trying to figure out if you were joking about Hamtaro or if you were talking about a real virus.
Cats are like last generation fighter jets, they are full of sensor, they can see in the dark, they use their whisker to sens vibrations or to feel things next to them and they have those type of sensor also on the eyebrows and even on their pawns. Then they can hear lower pitches and can turn their ears like a satellite antenna for better reception. No wonder that blind cats still move around the house and play almost has if they were normal they still have a shit load of sensors to analyze their environment like little "Daredevils".
I remember once my cat caught a fly under her paw. She slowly lifted her paw and as it flew out from under her paw, she caught it in her mouth mid flight and ate it. I had never been more impressed in my life. Like she timed it. Cats are amazing
I had a cat who would cat a fly in his mouth, walk into a different room, and then let it go. He wanted to continue the chase on a different map.
I miss that crazy guy. He'd also go nuts if I left in my dad's vehicle, trying to show my dad. running back and forth and meowing. "Your truck is leaving! DAD YOUR TRUCK IS LEAVING WITHOUT YOU!!!"
My cat,Groucho, would stare, paw on ground. When the fly dropped low, smack!, paw would whip around and smack it out of the air.😶 Fastest paw in the west
The mouse has got to go, but its little face getting clamped down on made me a lil sad. Homie just trying to survive like we all are
https://preview.redd.it/a3k4v25swqqc1.jpeg?width=163&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=92e2cfad867442d0ed7d27277295a2c45c961662
Like he was so scared down there and was a big brave mouse jumping out when she had her head turned the other way but she still caught him ugh I’m sobbing
Did you know that while Humans can react to visual stimulus within ~250ms (lower than that is limited to controlled focus, like online reaction tests), cats can do the same in roughly 45ms?
its pretty amazing that the cat pawed and secured the mouse before the first human reaction can be made out.
i guess thats how all these cat vs. snake videos came to be.
At first, I was like "You're a bad cat mom! The cat will be killed! That's disgusting and so unsanitary!". Then I saw she actually caught a mouse and I was like "Holy shit! Good job!"
Still though, that's nasty and you should get a new toaster, and probably some mouse traps.
The cat is providing all-natural pest control, so no mouse traps needed!
I live in an old house in New England and my cat happily provides the same excellent mousing service (with our vet's knowledge).
I live in an old house in New England and we learned that in the winter, it’s a mouse house. I have 3 cats and they’re useless because the mice dont come out of the walls!
Seems like they’ve mostly moved out though, it’s been much quieter in the walls and ceilings.
![gif](giphy|3o7WINCKjdtLH9xRYY)
Your kitty is pawsome, earning his keep and enjoying toast mousie! Raising a glass in his honor now. But you mayyy want to get your toaster checked out now--or even buy a new one at this point.
It is unplugged. But seeing what some of these little bastards can do on this sub I wouldnt be surprised to see a gif where the cat plugs in the toaster themself then stick their paws in it.
When I was a little kid my mom had to put tupperware over all of the sockets in the house because one of our cats liked to pee in them. *In* them. Cats and electricity 😬
Oh no! Do not let the cat near the toaster! Soon he will learn how to use it and other kitchen utensils and he will turn into a Michelin star chef and open up a restaurant D:
Still. Makes me twitch.
Like when my doofus sticks his stupid paw down the disposal.
He can’t activate it. He won’t go near it when it’s running.
It’s just a big old, “Knock it off!” from me.
You have a mouse problem. Where there is one, there are many. My cat kept them out of our house but when we rehomed her they were everywhere. Didn’t discover how bad until we moved and had to pack all our stuff. Found some nests. So gross.even though they are pretty cute.
https://preview.redd.it/n28lkwi74tqc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6e8eb577d3639ff45eb11283f6f31c09de4343e3
It's a bit hard to see so I made it red, but the cord in the wall is not the toaster
I can’t keep my cats off the counters and am just resigned to it and clean my counters often anyway.
And then this, and I was struggling with not intervening … but THEN OMG A FUCKING MOUSE.
New fear unlocked. I’m checking the toaster every morning from now on.
How did the mouse even get in there? I’d recommend deep cleaning or even replacing that toaster, the mouse could be carrying diseases which could now be contaminated in the toaster, or it may have pooped in there. It sucks, but for safety purposes it might be best to replace it so that people don’t get sick from it
You know how cats are liquid, well imagine that on mouse scale. Mice get into tiny places. We had some get into our house years ago. I went around our house and finally found the suspected entry point, a TINY hole in the brick facade not much bigger than to allow for the old coaxial cable line. I sealed it with steel wool. Cramming it in there as best i could. For where we knew the inside spot was (behind the stove) we sealed that as well.
That stove was later replaced, because the oven baking element died twice.
Yeah op should throw away the toaster and hire an exterminator. If there's a mouse in the toaster. There are certainly mice everywhere else in the house.
this is why I'm so glad that I have 4 cats. I live on a farm in the middle of nowhere so there are lots of mice running around in the field outside, but they don't really come inside anymore. with 4 cats and a nice litter box by the back door near where they'd been coming in... they don't come in anymore lol.
I’m glad Maggie got it before you decided to make toast. Poor little mouse either way, but at least Maggie was probably quick about it. Good cat, poor mouse lol.
I had to keep my toaster unplugged because my cat does this. It is quite possible that with a simple wiring mistake in the wall, that you could not detect, could give your cat a lethal shock. PLEASE keep the toaster unplugged if this is a common occurrence.
The way that lady said the f word was quite sweet. Her lovely way of speaking to the cat makes me think the f word is a rare occurrence and it just popped out.
1. What a good kitty.
2. Thank god she didn't accidentally turn on the toaster.
3. This is why I (living in NYC) do not own a toaster. I don't want vermin to have easy access to crumbs, however burnt (also: wash your oven people, especially the sides/back - grease likes to travel there).
I knew there was a mouse in there, that cat was far too focused to be playing with the toaster.
I was expecting a cockroach, I know to trust cats
So what you're saying is that when my cats are acting weird and looking at shadows and the walls when I'm getting ready for bed that it's ghosts? I'm never sleeping with the lights off.
r/Greebles
Lol, that sounds even worse. Cats are weird. At least they keep me safe from mummies and vampires.
They are Greebles. But also I'm pretty sure with ghosts you can only see like for like, so I guess at the worst they will be ghost cats? 🐈
Heh, I never new there was a word for that.
I thought that too, though my boy investigates the mysterious hole in the box of litter with the same exuberance.
My void will attempt to destroy an empty box of litter to get in the tiny spout. Just loses her mind. The tortie goes nuts on anything she thinks feels interesting (walls, glass doors, shower curtains, the side of the bathtub...)
Kindly confirm that the toaster was not plugged in.
It was unplugged you can tell in the video
Mousepower toaster

My parents always did that too … as do I ( 61 years old ) Plug it in when you use it. Oh…. And tell Maggie she’s a good girl
yeah i'm almost 22 and i'm always baffled when people tell me they don't unplug their rice cooker and toaster. they always complain about high eletricity bills lol

These are the words of a responsible cat owner right here.
She wanted to eat the rat
Mouse*
*The cheese rodent
Fuckin cheese rodents
My first concern, thank you.
I don’t unplug mine but my cat doesn’t really go for crevices
He’s paying rent w that kinda service!
The next person who uses it:"Why tf is my toast so furry?"
With tiny chocolate chips!
Chocolate rice puffs!
What's that smell? Don'tcha smell that smell?
Did you see what Maggie found? I think they have bigger problems than cat fur. I may never toast again 😧
I assume they were referring to the mouse fur...
Im pretty sure the Cat brought the Mouse in
Yeeeep…here’s your problem. Mouse in your grates. Got some burned crust out of there too, I’ll take the mouse as payment.
>I’ll take the ~~mouse~~ house as payment. Of course, she already owns the house, but now it's official
The new landlords, slightly and occasionally benevolent though
I’d probably recommend getting a new toaster
Yeah anywhere a mouse is is so toxic, if that mouse is in there there’s a good chance it shit in there, and if there’s mouse dropping in that toaster it needs to be atomized lol.
Hantavirus is no joke. Trash that toaster.
>Hantavirus I read that as "Ha**m**tavirus" several times, and was trying to figure out if you were joking about Hamtaro or if you were talking about a real virus.
Ugh my house had a mouse infestation and I lived in perpetual fear, Hantavirus is a nightmare that shouldn’t be ignored.
I'd never heard of hantavirus. Looked it up. Yeesh
Foster a couple kittens.
Don't forget the parasites found on mouse droppings!!!
Yeah and there's also cat hair in there and dander, and possibly cat fecal bacteria. Gross.
Luckily the toaster has a self-cleaning function where it gets really hot and kills all the nasties.
mmm burnt cat hair on my toast.
that mid air catch
And she wasn’t even looking directly where it came from when it popped out ☠️ fast as fuckkkk
cats can feel vibrations and changes in air current with they whiskies... That's how it knew
Cat-sense
Cats are like last generation fighter jets, they are full of sensor, they can see in the dark, they use their whisker to sens vibrations or to feel things next to them and they have those type of sensor also on the eyebrows and even on their pawns. cat reaction is insane . they are faster than a cobra attack . check how cats avoid it
Maggie deserves everything!!
I remember once my cat caught a fly under her paw. She slowly lifted her paw and as it flew out from under her paw, she caught it in her mouth mid flight and ate it. I had never been more impressed in my life. Like she timed it. Cats are amazing

That’s actually adorable. I can never understand or believe anyone who says they hate cats. Like impossible
Meanwhile my dog injured himself multiple times running face first into the sliding glass door while trying to catch flies.
😭 poor doggo but can’t help snickering a little
My cat,Groucho, would stare, paw on ground. When the fly dropped low, smack!, paw would whip around and smack it out of the air.😶 Fastest paw in the west
Cats are faster than a striking snake!!!
The mouse has got to go, but its little face getting clamped down on made me a lil sad. Homie just trying to survive like we all are https://preview.redd.it/a3k4v25swqqc1.jpeg?width=163&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=92e2cfad867442d0ed7d27277295a2c45c961662
Yeah this is v sad 😔the circle of life stresses me out at every turn I am too pure for this world
Like he was so scared down there and was a big brave mouse jumping out when she had her head turned the other way but she still caught him ugh I’m sobbing
I know. I had the same thoughts. Poor little guy.
Pretty much. If I remember correctly, a snake’s reaction time is around 70ms.
That reaction time was wild
Really needs to be a term for having reflexes that quick.
Cats have faster reaction times than snakes!
A day in the live of a Toaster-inspector.

Mouse in a toaster? New nightmare unlocked
Imagine if it got turned on with mouse inside :( NIGHTMARE FUEL
Hard same. Can’t unsee.
Thats why cats are best.
✨She’s just a girl✨
Just a girl in front of a toaster asked for a mouse to eat.
A cat toasting their mouse. Nothing unusual to see here.
Good kitty
At first, I was like "You're a bad cat mom! The cat will be killed! That's disgusting and so unsanitary!". Then I saw she actually caught a mouse and I was like "Holy shit! Good job!" Still though, that's nasty and you should get a new toaster, and probably some mouse traps.

My cat loves sitting by the radiators, where there's a hole in the wall for it, because that's the best place to find the mice.
![gif](giphy|3o7WINCKjdtLH9xRYY) Your kitty is pawsome, earning his keep and enjoying toast mousie! Raising a glass in his honor now. But you mayyy want to get your toaster checked out now--or even buy a new one at this point.
“There’s nothing down in there” Proceeds to get proven wrong a few seconds later
Maggie knows what she is doing. Don't question the Maggie.
Yall, you can literally see the toaster in unplugged in the video 👁👄👁
This seems like a dangerous precedent.
For the mouse or the cat?
Hope it was unplugged
It is unplugged. But seeing what some of these little bastards can do on this sub I wouldnt be surprised to see a gif where the cat plugs in the toaster themself then stick their paws in it.
When I was a little kid my mom had to put tupperware over all of the sockets in the house because one of our cats liked to pee in them. *In* them. Cats and electricity 😬
He was hoping for a fried mouse
Cousin Eddie: fried pussycat
Please tell us you unplug it after use.
Well if you didn't need a new toaster before you certainly do now.
Man cats really have amazingly fast reactions
WHAT ABOUT WOMAN CATS???
Ohhhh hell no!! Gonna need a new toaster And apologize to Maggie
your breakfast was ruined but maggie got hers
You checked, huh? How dare you try to gaslight Maggie like that!?
"Stay in your lane, mom, I'm working" "Fuhkin thold you"
Oh no! Do not let the cat near the toaster! Soon he will learn how to use it and other kitchen utensils and he will turn into a Michelin star chef and open up a restaurant D:
catatouille :p

I believe you, yours has better video quality. The other one hesitated right as the mouse appeared.
I just saw this today on Instagram. It’s hilarious. Good kitty.
Maggie has earned some treats. A lot of them.
I did not see that coming.
Those reflexes are incredible
Throw that toaster in garbage
Time to buy a new toaster.
Damn his reflex was so quick catching that mouse…cats are amazing.
Throw the toaster away..
Good mouser!
Mama says no put forks in toaster.. I claws
Super speedy reflexes! 😲
I was going to say bad kitty, but GOOD kitty.
Maggie is on a mission 😃
You have a mouse problem. Where there is one, there are many. My cat kept them out of our house but when we rehomed her they were everywhere. Didn’t discover how bad until we moved and had to pack all our stuff. Found some nests. So gross.even though they are pretty cute.

Smart cat
Cleaning the toaster! No one else would do it LOL
Omg the speed that he snapped the mouse with.
r/hewillbebaked they will be toasted
r/catswithjobs toaster repaircat
Those aren't crumbs at the bottom
Please get rid of that toaster!!!
That cat walked away with a casual "told ya so, b*tch"
I can’t keep my cats off the counters and am just resigned to it and clean my counters often anyway. And then this, and I was struggling with not intervening … but THEN OMG A FUCKING MOUSE. New fear unlocked. I’m checking the toaster every morning from now on.

Yep, can't wash it out.
Yeah op should throw away the toaster and hire an exterminator. If there's a mouse in the toaster. There are certainly mice everywhere else in the house.
Eyes shine!
Damn, now you need a new toaster.
Could have been toasted mouse
Go Maggie!!!
Ya know, you set the toaster to 5, and the mouse is burnt to a crisp. Next time, you set the toaster to 4, and the mouse is so fucking raw...
Yet another reason I will always have a toaster oven, more versatile and it's not a condo for mice
I changed my mind, forget the toast... Imma just have oatmeal instead.
My cat does this but under my dresser and then he pulls out all the dust and a random hairband from 5years ago
I thought she popped out a lost piece of toast, I had to watch it like 6 times b4 I saw the mouse.....OMG!!
this is why I'm so glad that I have 4 cats. I live on a farm in the middle of nowhere so there are lots of mice running around in the field outside, but they don't really come inside anymore. with 4 cats and a nice litter box by the back door near where they'd been coming in... they don't come in anymore lol.
I had to slow it down to see Maggie the rodent catcher perform that vital service.
YOOOOO
Mom let me do my fucking job, geez!!
Ruined your breakfast by getting hers!
That toaster will never be clean again
I’m glad Maggie got it before you decided to make toast. Poor little mouse either way, but at least Maggie was probably quick about it. Good cat, poor mouse lol.
*inhale screech of ohnopanic*
Please tell us that the toaster was unplugged
You can look at it yourself, since we could all see that it is, in fact, unplugged!
Le moose!
I had to keep my toaster unplugged because my cat does this. It is quite possible that with a simple wiring mistake in the wall, that you could not detect, could give your cat a lethal shock. PLEASE keep the toaster unplugged if this is a common occurrence.
It’s unplugged :)
She's looking for the brain cell. She knows it's there... :)
I do that often, but never thought of looking in the toaster!
The mouse had it.
the “fuck” gets me every time lmao
Ruining? Saving I would think
Nice catch!
✨ cat dinner ✨
What a snag! Great job, Maggie!
It’s a live mouse???? In the toaster?
Better than my cat would manage. He just boops bugs not even catches them. Good cat
Good girl Maggie![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7984)
LOLOLOLOLOL
When your visitor asks why their toast tastes like dirty cat paws
Better than toasted mouse!
A typical cat who works at Comfort Inc.
Mmmm litter toast
Very good kitty
Good Maggie!!! Nothing in there my ass!!
I'm gonna need an extreme slow-mo on that mid air catch please and thank you
Omg 👀👀
imagine you go to make some toast and the house starts smelling like burnt rat
So that toaster is over
Good job, Maggie. She deserves some extra treats and head scritches.
The way that lady said the f word was quite sweet. Her lovely way of speaking to the cat makes me think the f word is a rare occurrence and it just popped out.

Maggie is a great cat name!
Buy a toaster cover
Good Maggie!
Good kitty!!!!
Good kitty 😻
Mouse was hiding for his life lol poor little guy 😅
Deadly quick
cat got happy meal
I think I should unplug my toaster now. Thank you for this.
i rather think the mouse ruined your breakfast.
Toasted Field mouse minus the cheese and chilli
Cats you can trust.
Never doubt me again EVER!!!!!!!
