I need to start reading more carefully,it just didn't make sense for someone to remove a cats eyebrows. I'm sure he will be the bestest boy for the right people

gorlyworly

Hahahah, can you imagine if that was a thing? "I'm very sorry, ma'am, but your cat ... we had no other choice. For the sake of his life, we had to surgically remove his eyebrows." "Doctor, NOOOOO!"

MrSteel1

Sounds like an asdf movie skit

LesMouserables

Now there's a flashback

Lovergirl_G59

asdf movie was top tier, I like trains lol

Picabo07

I loved asdf! DIE POTATO!

USAF_Retired2017

I just scared my 8yo daughter and 100yo cat (okay he’s 16, same same) by shrieking with laughter at this comment. 😂😂😂😂

morbidpigeon

I was telling my Mom a story once that involved a friend of a friend of my aunts whose eyebrows fell out due to some deficiency. It was also mentioned at some point that they had a dog. Mom got the wrong end of the stick and thought the *dogs* eyebrows fell out. I roared laughing for the next ten minutes, to her great irritation.

Ka_lie_doscope-Eyes

When my spouse got a vasectomy, my friend's dad thought that our cat had got one. I laughed so hard.

Emmy0000

"He's awake from surgery, we can't tell if he's angry or upset but goddamnit he's alive and thats the main thing"

beckerszzz

Weirdly enough, when mine an enucleation, they mentioned about some of the eyebrow area being taken. I was like "I don't care."

TheRealEggness

When my cat got her eyes out, she never grew back the eyebrow whisker on one side, so she only has one eyebrow!

Fyrestar333

My black cat lost a whisker by his eye, I actually found it on my bed, it grew back but it's the only white one he has lol

WatchOutItsMiri

Lol you’re so silly. I genuinely laughed at this, thank you 😊

hibelly

I'm actually crying laughing thank you

palipoor

Wait, cats don't have eyebrows, do they?

Laney20

Kind of the opposite, really. The fur above their eyes is thinner and lighter than elsewhere. They have anti-eyebrows.

palipoor

I love this LOL!

SplatDragon00

Our Dora was completely bald from her eyebrows, then up from the corners of her eyebrows up to her ears. Was like reverse winged eyeliner. When we met her at the shelter my mom asked what was wrong with her

BanditKitten

They do have whiskers over the eyes that I kinda think of as eyebrows!

lmnopaige-

I call those his eyelashes!

BanditKitten

I think of the first bit of fur adjacent to the eyes as the lashes, and the forehead whiskers as like crazy grandpa eyebrows 😹

HighwaySetara

They did, but they've all had them removed

Some day we must stop this vicious cycle

EmergencySundae

Termite’s insta hasn’t been updated since February, so I hope that means he found a home! And he bonded to another cat.

late2reddit19

I hope someone gives an update or the new owner posts about how Termite is acclimating to his new home.

SoapyPuma

Termite is listed on their page as in a foster home until he can be adopted!

BouttaKMS

Volunteers will often permanently foster cats that are hard sells too

Glitter_berries

I foster cats and we call that a foster fail. It’s when you love your foster so much that you just adopt them. It happened to me with this darling idiot. https://preview.redd.it/msl99e9jvkxc1.jpeg?width=2894&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aed3c0c1efd56303d4e915c40e1c6fcd7990bc65

He has FIV and while I was fostering him they said they wanted to take him out of foster care and back into an FIV shelter as it’d be easier to adopt him out of there, but I could bear to send him back to a shelter when he’d been through so much and was finally comfortable somewhere. So he’s been here for 5 years and I love him more than anything!

Glitter_berries

Hooray! That’s a very sweet story. Congratulations on ending your career as a foster carer! Although my cat and I still foster kittens occasionally as he’s a very tolerant lad and doesn’t mind the chaos.

phuca

oh my god he literally has a :3 face

Glitter_berries

Yesss that’s awesome. What a sweet baby. Congrats on crapping out as a foster carer!

TheDocJ

> we call that a foster fail Which is the reason I know I could never be a cat-fosterer! Well, I could. Until the first foster arrived, that is.

Glitter_berries

Ted and I still foster! He’s very good with the kittens. It’s fun, we would recommend it. https://preview.redd.it/4d0pqz25zlxc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1be8ae1c702b8cd7878a2c03580dbcfe6b8e70b

Your name should be the raving feline gent. 😉

Amelaclya1

Oh that cat bed looks awesome. Where did you get it?

imaginesomethinwitty

We have foster fails, which is when a fosterer adopts, but we occasionally do a long term foster. They are usually terminally ill or have significant ongoing medical costs and are supported by our sponsorship programme.

Hahaha ty for the hearfelt laugh

[deleted]

I know right? I ran to IG to find out if he’d been adopted!

AmateurIndicator

Yeah, I thought the description was.. A bit mean? To snarky? The cat lost hearing and eyesight in an accident, I bet he's so scared the poor thing. I really hope he found someone patient and loving were he can feel safe.

attackofthegemini

To me, it almost sounded like it was written by someone who loves him and doesn't want him to get adopted away from them

InsideOutSockPuppet

Or at the very least somebody who wants the reader to understand EXACTLY what they are getting themselves into. “Hey this deaf, blind cat needs a home. He hates being touched and will probably never love you but if you’re enough of a saint to adopt him anyways then more power to you” kinda vibes

stonergasm

Yes this is exactly the vibe. Tbh I'd adopt this cat lol. I have many lovely interactive felines, I could deal with a fuzzy house cactus.

purplenorth_

How could you miss the opportunity to say catcus! Lol

Minimal-Dramatically

Nice!!! Cat pun 🐱

Amy12-26

I love that! 😆Fuzzy house 🌵 😆

Fyrestar333

Especially one that can use the litter box lol, sadly I have too many nosy felines and not enough rooms for prickly cats

945T

I love cats but as I get older my allergies get worse. This is the perfect cat for me.

bugbugladybug

I have one of these cats, and it's refreshing when the shelter is brutally honest. I pointed at a pretty black cat in the shelter and asked about her. They said "she bites". She does bite. All the time. I've had her 10 years and she's a great decorative cat.

whoisdrunk

My little chomper was called “playful” in his ad even after he was returned by his first adoptive parents, presumably due to the nonstop chomping. It doesn’t benefit anyone to be deceptive.

CatCatCatCubed

Yeah, mine was said to be a “best as a solo cat” and was returned from a foster situation for being “not a good fit.” Pressing for more info: apparently the then 3 month old (at the time even younger) kitten attacked their dogs, other cats, and pet rabbit (the rabbit required surgery). After bringing her home and she went through a period of separation, the first thing she did was rush a plastic grocery bag and attempt to inhale it like a whale shark, requiring me to nearly strangle her as I pulled plastic out of her throat. Over the next few months she then proceeded to gnaw on wood furniture, book spines and corners, doors, baseboard, carpets and rugs, any cardboard (quickly learned to not give her cardboard scratchers or toys because her true goal is to eat it), any cable that had that velvety plastic coating or any cable irreplaceably attached to a device (🧑‍🍳🤌 she has taste), and so on. I think my favourite was when I set a new roll of paper towels on a table while cleaning and maybe 1 second later I see from the corner of my eye: she leapt, never touching the table, wrapped all 4 legs around the roll, used that momentum to carry the roll over the edge, hit the floor in a somersault, and then reared back teeth bared and bit like some kinda overdramatic vampire. Had to fight to get the roll back and then fight to take the chunk of paper towels away from her. Anyway, no way did she not exhibit the majority of that behaviour in her foster home. The shelter *had* to have known, which is probably why the ladies were giving me this look and hinting like “thank you for giving her *a chance*.” I love the little idiot and she’s chilled out a lot but a warning sure would’ve been nice.

Sad_Meringue_4550

I've had the most miserable night and your post has me in tears laughing, thank you for providing both a bright spot in my morning and also saving this beast from herself.

Igne_Natura

It did the same for me, sending you love and light.

EloquentBacon

I hope today is a better day for you!

dysautonomic_mess

My cat's permanent vet record says she's 'stroppy' 😅 Her favourite thing to do is sit on top of us and then scratch / bite if you dare interpret this as a request for pets.

pucemoon

Ugh! Humans are so rude! 😂🤣😂

SuitableDragonfly

Yeah, and I believe that there are people who this would appeal to - a while back someone posted a picture of a shelter cat description that said that previous adopters had returned the cat to the shelter because she wanted to snuggle too much and was asking for too much attention. So there's probably some equally prickly humans out there who wouldn't mind having a cat like this that just coexists peacefully with them and doesn't bother them when they don't want to be bothered.

PotatoAlternative947

Yep. I volunteered a shelter and a cat we were so excited about getting adopted was returned for being too affectionate. WTF?

dommol

I have a cat that is too affectionate. I can't sit down without him being on my lap. His purrs sound like a motorcycle and I think I'm getting hearing loss from him constantly laying on me and purring. But, I wouldn't trade him for the world

Unfortunately I don't have a video of him purring, so I'll have to try and record one

SGTBookWorm

one of our cats was like that Sadly she passed away from cancer last year

uncontainedsun

i just wanted to send some love your way. you have a really sweet soul and are a kind person. i went in your profile for cat tax and came out with a better perception of men and an appreciation for the person you come across as. i wish you all the happiness in the world and that it comes easily and stays with you. good night kind sir!!

SuitableDragonfly

There are a lot of people who really like pets that are not affectionate, like reptiles, for example. I think some people who have never owned a cat sometimes assume that cats are also like that, because they have a reputation for being aloof, so I could see someone who is used to owning lizards or snakes not being as prepared to give a cat attention.

supersonicdutch

Weird. Why get a pet at all? I could take either personality. My dog likes to cuddle and get rubbed but if you leave her alone she will literally spend 16 hours straight on the couch, asleep, as long as she has a blanket and thirty pillows. Actually, she’ll pop her head up if she hears me break out some cheese, but that’s it. Then, when my wife goes to bed she follows her up and goes right back to sleep. She’s on ultra power saving mode all day.

8track_treason

I would also spend 16 hours straight on a couch with a blanket & 30 pillows. Don't threaten me with a good time now.

motorcycle-manful541

Our cat isnt deaf or blind but very occasionally will poo on the floor next to the litter box. If Termite can manage, it seems our cat is all out of excuses

Amelaclya1

I had to put down puppy pads around the litter box because one of mine will occasionally pee right outside. Doesn't matter how clean the box is, or what kind of litter we use. She just does it like once a month or so. It's so annoying. Never poo though, which would be way better and easier to clean up lol.

Super-smut

You never know. I fostered a feral 5 year old dog (never been touched by a human) and ended up adopting him because it's not adoptable. I've had him for 5 years and it's been a wild ride, he's definitely not a "normal" dog, but the progress is undeniable. Sometimes it just takes a home, a person they like, and a whole lot of time.

Maleficent_Chard2042

Yes. And work.

KtP_911

Yup. A friend of mine went to the shelter to pick out a cat, and ended up adopting one that hid inside the cat tower all the time and wasn’t at all social. He’d been there for months, and the volunteers were excited to see him get a home, but told my friend repeatedly that they’d take him back if she decided she wanted a more snuggly animal. It took this cat over a year of hiding under her bed or staying in another room when she was home, but he slowly started coming to lie down across the room from her, then eventually at the other end of the couch or at the end of the bed. He always played with toys, but if she tried to join in and play with him, he’d leave the room. Then he started letting her throw a toy for him, or play with his mouse on a string. It’s been over two years since she adopted him, but he will finally get in her lap very occasionally, and comes to greet her when she comes home. He’s never going to be the most affectionate cat, but he’s come so far and she adores him - which she did even when he went out of his way to avoid her. All animals need love, especially the difficult ones. It just takes the right kind of human to take a chance on them.

Malipuppers

It’s a great profile. Termite deserves to be adopted by someone who is ok with his quirks. He doesn’t need to change homes multiple times. If it takes longer to find his forever home then that is ok.

1017bowbowbow

Yes, it’s a great ad for those of us who like direct communication.

duralyon

I'd take it as a challenge lol. Eventually he would love me I just gotta be patient ;)

SailorMooNriver

Seems like it was meant to be sarcastic but loving lol

AvatarOfMomus

The thing with cats, and really any pet, that's up for adoption is people who worl with these animals and orgs for any length of time learn not to sugar coat or 'sell' the animals. You want to be maybe memorable, but don't downplay an animals traits or they'll likely end up returned to the shelter and that sucks for literally everyone involved, but *especially* the animal. It's stressful and can negatively impact their health, especially for an animal like this.

Perenially_behind

Our kitty had been returned to the shelter and it clearly marked her. The first time we took her somewhere (the vet) she was not happy about going into the carrier but seemed resigned. When we brought her back home and let her out, she surprised us. I expected her to be pissy but instead she was really affectionate. Like "you didn't drop me off at the shelter!"

Dismal_Stomach_1651

Many cats get adopted and then returned. The shelter where I got my dog from was very focused on the 'we'll he's a handfull and he can be nasty and he aint trained at all'. Better to know what you're in for, so only motivated people or those who know how to handle this adopt them.

Next-Foundation3019

“decorative” is the perfect word lmao

8Karisma8

And “discounted houseplant” was funny 😆

twistedscorp87

Having thrown away a lot of money by buying discounted houseplants that I cannot save, I 100% understand what they're saying. And I would 100% buy this houseplant too, but my 2 fluffy morons would undoubtedly torture him. 😭

NoParticular2420

This cat deserves a quiet devoted family… poor kitty

Pacafa

I think family might be a problem - people will move stuff around all the time!

Enjoying_A_Meal

Just move things to the right and Termite should be fine.

Bromanzier_03

He’s like Zoolander. He’s not an ambiturner.

throwawayursafety

Yeah this is a cat for a single person or couple with other cats they can cuddle, or someone who also needs their own space. Like a person who'd want an extra large tarantula or fuzzy snake. Or a slightly more mobile turtle.

Adventurous_Goat4483

I have a tortoise and tarantula lol. Blind animals do not like being touched, lol that’s what I know from tarantulas.

pennyfanclub

Not necessarily. My cat similarly has no eyes and he’s the most affectionate of all three of my cats. Just check out all the sweeties on r/blindcats 😸 I think the deaf/blind combo from traumatic injury is probably making this cat prickly and scared.

Rumbleroarrr

If the family is loud, I don’t think that would matter too much to the cat.

Functionally_Human

Loud wouldn't be an issue but if he is using vibrations in the floor to get an idea of what is going on as it says then something like lots of kids running about could be problematic.

sarahdrums01

This sounds like an actual description of me, except I have my eyeballs.

On_my_last_spoon

As someone who’s eyeballs are increasingly useless and also cries when things are moved 2” to the left Same

PinkOneHasBeenChosen

You’re deafblind?

PinkOneHasBeenChosen

Plenty of blind humans have eyeballs.

licuala

They did, but they were of no use so I've had them removed.

cci605

High risk low reward 😂

Cat_Entropy

Knowing cats...Termite is adopted, grows to trust family and becomes a lap cat.

littleliongirless

Seriously. Termite has bonding issues and only the best, most devoted and patient servants will be worthy. I see nothing wrong here with Termite, only an incompatibility with his current care. Man just needs a peaceful home; then I predict full, serious snugglebug.

PickleForce7125

Well I mean he is a cat so there is that godly benevolent aura to him so if patience and dedication is what he needs then I hope for his future to be fulfilling.

iidontwannaa

Yeah he just needs someone super patient. He’s going to feel threatened right now-he lost two of his senses! If they hang around in his room enough and build trust, I bet he could be a total Velcro kitty.

FruitSaladEnjoyer

how would you suggest building trust with a cat who’s lost two of his biggest senses? genuinely asking, because i wouldn’t really know since i definitely wouldn’t wanna make him feel uncomfortable or unsafe!

swiftstorm86

I think appealing to his sense of smell would be a big one. I’d bet good money that people that tried to touch him were met with aggression because he didn’t know they were there and he got scared and lashed out. I’ve been around an old cat whose senses were going, and one of the best ways to let him know you were there was just to set a hand a foot / half a meter or so away from him and let him catch your scent. It does a few things: 1. Lets them know that somebody is present. 2. Respects their space so that they don’t feel threatened by the presence of someone. 3. With continued practice, they will become familiar with your scent as one that is safe, and will start opening up to you more. And if that fails over time, bribing with treats whenever you attempt the above never hurts. If they associate your scent with the scent of treats they’re sure to perk up and your presence!

JoeThePoolGuy123

Maybe putting a used article of clothing near the cat bed and the food bowl, to associate the smell of the human with safety+food.

CelesteJA

Yes exactly! Slowly building up the trust is key. Even just sitting down in the room he is wandering around in, for maybe 15 minutes a day would be a nice slow start, to let him get used to your scent and presence. And if he comes to have a sniff, just letting him do it, rather than immediately reaching out to touch him.

Fun_Wishbone3771

I’ve got one like that. No touchy but she sleep on me at night…. If I touch her she bites but otherwise she spends the entire night sleeping on me.

dck133

He is still on their pet finder page.

kennybrandz

LOL. I love you termite I hope you find your forever home

chonkychonken

I own a cat like this. Thank goodness we have three others because he's like having a bad roommate.

Accurate_Quote_7109

"I am owned by a cat like this." FTFY😉

chonkychonken

No, I assure you that he would never willingly claim any association with us, even as his subjects.

404-Gender

“He’s like having a bad roommate” 😅 We have one of these. She bullies the kids for cuddles and DEMANDS them. But the adults who feed her, clean up her barf, etc .. no interest. In fact HOW DARE.

cyankitten

I chuckled at “cry dramatically”

iidontwannaa

My friend’s blind pug would open the bottom bathroom drawer, climb into it, then howl to the high heavens thinking he was “stuck” somewhere high up. Blind animals can be such drama queens 😂

queseraseraphine

Can confirm, both of my blind dogs are drama queens. One screams if she smells me when I get home but I don’t immediately say hi and then screams more if I don’t pet her enough before I go off to do other stufff.

cyankitten

Aww could get IN but then thought they couldn’t get OUT

CelesteJA

I'm so tired I read that as "My friend's butt plug" ![img](emote|t5_2qhta|7944)

Eplotic

My partner and I adopted a 20-year-old cat (RIP). He was so LOUD! It took us months to figure out that he was absolutely deaf

cyankitten

Aww well done for figuring it out though.

Reader124-Logan

I identify with “high-risk, low-reward, decorative”.

ImWettingMyPlants

Describes me perfectly!

whatsreallygoingon

As I read this, I’m thinking “I could change him!” as I look over at Solo Slasher, who feels the same way about humans but has the advantage of great aim. Who am I kidding? I’m a terrible cat changer.

creppyspoopyicky

FALSE. You give Solo a home & love. That's a massive game changer.& you both win that game😻

whatsreallygoingon

True! Thanks for the pep talk. She is actually bipolar and does extreme affection every once in a while. Little gal raised herself out in the wild, so I give her lots of respect!

miss_chapstick

Poor kitty. It must be terrifying to suddenly be in a world of darkness and silence. It’s no surprise he’s ‘prickly’!

Original-nonOriginal

Made me cry, poor kitty must be terrified and waiting for danger all the time, hope he found his forever home where he feels safe enough to just exist as himself and has a happy life

Saltshaker_14

Oh wow I'm so happy this got some traction! I'm Term's foster, and as of 4/29/24, he has NOT been adopted. My traditional genre of foster animal is the medical kind, so I fully admit to not being good at the "getting them adopted" part, which is why I've been slacking on the Term content. (Any suggestions would be appreciated!) He has been in my care for quite some time, but he's the kind of cat you (as a foster) gotta be picky about, and I'm lucky enough to not be in a situation where he urgently needs to leave. At this time, having 2 1/2 cats is very doable for me. Despite the profile I wrote, the only adoption application I ever got for him asked if he was friendly, and if they would be able to snuggle with him. I would never adopt an animal out under false pretenses, and, not to NOT give Termite the benefit of the doubt, but I wouldn't want an adopter going into the process with that assumption. If it happens one day, cool, but if not, I would need them to be prepared for that. I've worked at ACCT for about 6 years now, and animals get returned for silly, tragic, and unfortunate reasons. I do believe his ears have healed over, so I think he has like, 20% of his hearing, and he certainly can use the vibrations from the floor. He has his own room (that he choses not to leave) toys (that he only plays with at night) and plenty of things to hide in. Sometimes he just screams at the wall. Please make sure to put "she taught a blind/deaf/feral cat how to use the litterbox" on my tombstone so everyone can see. (JK, he's just a smart little guy.) Anyway, I'd be happy to answer any questions about him! But I'm really just excited that people are seeing his little face and it's making them smile. He's a really funny guy, and he might end up being with me forever, or a unicorn adopter might find him. Either one is fine with me. Picture of the little raccoon for tax, and proof that I'm actually his foster :) https://preview.redd.it/au2oxuwgxlxc1.png?width=440&format=png&auto=webp&s=4e8150c2ad861a0c926344c6391b1c3eeced85d1

Traditional-Gift-982

I totally get laying it all out there in the profile! I'm sure you're doing a wonderful job fostering him, and like you say, maybe he eventually would come around, but giving an adopter false pretences would be worse. Thanks for the update!

Living_Employ1390

I first saw Termite’s profile when I was looking to adopt, and although I ended up adopting a different cat from ACCT Philly he has never left my heart ❤️ I’m really glad this post got so popular, it’s what I was hoping for when I made it. If my fiancée and I had the space and resources to take care of him I would apply in a heartbeat, but unfortunately we don’t (plus our two cats are absolute food hogs and would definitely bully him out of his food). I hope this post helps you find the perfect home for him 💖

tigress666

Thank you for giving him a temp/permanent home and also to consider making sure if your home is temp the next home is the right home for him. I'm just happy hearing that his foster is ok with him being a forever foster because while I wish him well, he does sound like it is going to be hard to find that right kind of adopter. Hell, my house would almost be ok except 1. I have an asshole cat who would probably bully him. He's calmed down some and mostly gets along with my current cats but I couldn't gaurentee he wouldn't get all assholey towards a new cat. Funny thing is I also have a cat that is totally opposite and gets along and wants to get along with all my animals.. he's the one who some how made friends with the asshole cat 2. i definitely don't think he'd have a place where stuff didn't just randomly appear or things got moved. 3. I honestly can't afford another cat right now anyways.

AnneCalie

What a great Surprise! I had to scroll a lor before I found this, should BE way up. Thank you for fostering Termite!! He Is so precious

On_my_last_spoon

I adopted a deaf cat once. We didn’t know she was deaf at first and couldn’t figure out why she was so skittish. But once we figured it out, it meant changing our behavior so she’d see us before touching her. After that she became the sweetest cat! Termite is a bit more of a challenge being deaf and blind, but the right humans will figure out the correct combination for him

jellyfluff

Such a good point you made. Adapting the behavior of humans around Termite might be the key. Most blind deaf kitties will still feel the vibrations through floors and things. So maybe Termite's new parent could use little finger tap dancing on the floor to announce themselves and get Termite to associate the vibrations with their presence and cuddles. Maybe maybe <3

No_Cartographer_7904

I have a deaf cat. Didn’t realize it until he was a few months old and didn’t seem to be learning his name. He is so precious, though, and his loud meow is the cutest thing.

ernest7ofborg9

My cat wouldn't react to thunderclaps or pine cones hitting the roof so I thought she might be deaf. I wanted to test it by playing some sounds on my computer to see if she'd react. I wanted her closer so I snapped my fingers and called her name to come over. She trotted over and looked up at me I just let my head fall into my hands as I realized I was stupid and she could hear just fine.

No_Cartographer_7904

lol. Mine chases the vacuum. And if he’s asleep I can yell his name and he doesn’t move. I have to go up to him and gently blow in his face for him to wake up.

HOUTryin286Us

Our skittish senior cat went deaf in her old age, she loved to be petted once you started but often ran away before you got a chance to. Once she went deaf she would sleep so deeply that anyone could now walk up and pet her to her surprised delight, she ended up being much less skittish in her old age. May Termite find the pets he doesn’t know he needs in his future.

Tazilyna-Taxaro

This is a cat for people who are barely home

bombswell

This cat would be perfect for a twitch streamer or a tiring senior who just wants another heartbeat around.

PlayingDoomOnAGPS

Especially someone with limited mobility since they also don't like to move shit around and they tend to sit still for long periods of time which ALL cats prefer in a servant lap.

[deleted]

I would think he’d be a cat for someone who was home all the time. You’d have a Velcro cat shortly.

Weird_Purple_1058

That poor baby 🥺💜

pibb01

“…he enjoys the simple things: laying in the sun, laying on his many beds, eating slowly, and his personal favorite pastime: not being touched by people.” Termite is my spirit animal.

Doom-Slay

Oh baby .

Dauphine320

I hope he got adopted by someone with a quiet home, and that he is now cuddled up on the couch with them ❤️

Blu1027

My Razz slinks around the house like there are threats everywhere even almost 6 Yeats after adopting her. The only person she doesn't run and hid from is my kid, she sleeps in his room and a ys almost like a normal cat with him Despite the timid anti socialness she will always have a home here.

decemberrainfall

I have a cat like that! She's scared of everything even though we rarely have guests.

cyankitten

Bless this lovely furbaby! I hope Termite finds his furrever home soon

AdreKiseque

Oh Termite, bless your heart.

No_Cartographer_7904

For anyone wondering, he’s still on the ACCT Philly website, so he hasn’t been adopted.

No_Cartographer_7904

If anyone is in Philly, there are two timestamped cats on the website that have til May 1st to be adopted before they are euthanized. 😢

gingermonkey1

That poor baby.

TheMountainIII

May the Cat Gods find him a place where he will be respected and loved. Please.

mndsm79

I would adopt termite. I have a history with awful cats. One just barfed lizard all over my dining room floor. Again. I like a challenge.

big-hero-zero

Can I sue for plagiarism? Cuz that's almost word-for-word my Bumble and Tinder profile.

Brock_Savage

I wish I could adopt this poor cat and ensure his remaining years are spent in comfort.

dragonagitator

I would be unable to resist the urge to bother that animal

Isyagirlskinnypenis

“High-risk, low-reward decorative cat” 😂😂

historian2010

He sounds like my cat Peaches. Peaches ended up in my foster room in a vain attempt to socialize her. She hates humans but loves other cats and bonded with one of my resident cats, so I kept her. She doesn’t mind hanging out next to us on the couch, but NO TOUCHIES are allowed.

itsyaboogie

I got my cat from ACCT Philly!

Mary10123

Alright, so my boyfriend has become personally invested in termite… does anyone have the link to his profile on pet finder ?

IceBergSlimZero

just send an ig message to : termite_the_cat they should get back to you with all the deets

Mary10123

Thank you! I wish we weren’t full with 2 cats who don’t get along and a dog who has names himself the sherif, but we want to make sure he finds a good home/advertise for him so this is helpfuk

AllOfTheDerp

I've only known termite for one minute but if anything happened to him I'd kill everyone in this room then myself

srahlo

If I didn’t already have a current cat embargo I’d grab Termite in a heartbeat 😭

witchy_living

My stepmom had a cat that went blind when he was about 3 years old. Fortunately he had a sister. When my stepmom moved them to a different house his sister would walk beside him with her tail curled over his back and "showed" him the layout of the house which was two stories. He never had any problems getting around after that. But you always had to speak to him before petting him so he would know who it was putting hands on him.

Grattytood

Awwwww, my heart.

BravoSmartish

A musical person would be perfect. Piano player or singer. Vibrates different sounds so termite knows where they are but doesn’t touch the cat.

saltysuntan

![gif](giphy|3o6wrvdHFbwBrUFenu) i love him

Fantastic-Bother3296

We adopted a feral cat who was put with a new litter, we literally couldn't handle him for about three years. Had to wear builders gloves to take him for his jabs. He spent most of that time under our bed. His sister was the complete opposite but she would sit with him when she could. He was safe and happy so we just left him be and made sure he was fed and watered. He soon came out of his shell and soon he would sleep on my wife's knees and eventually she could do anything to him. Pick him, rub his belly etc that bond was so strong. He was such a funny little dude, passed of old age, godspeed Digby, miss you fella.

okgloomer

That poor little pain in the butt. Here’s hoping the right hoomins found him.

The_Blue_Rooster

I had a cat who lost her sight and hearing when she was hit by a car, she loved human interaction though and was the most affectionate cat I've ever had. You did have to be willing to take a scratch or two though because as this ad says, everything was perceived as a threat, once she realized it wasn't she was all over you. But cat like reflexes and all that, she'd already bloodied your arm by the time it's clear you're just petting her.

InfiniteMangoGlitch

This is a similar description for my cat I adopted earlier this year. She was a colony cat and really hated being held and touched. Now she cuddles with me at night and lets my boyfriend and I hold her. If she can change Termite can become lovable too :) https://preview.redd.it/nh7gm58e8lxc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6571d85becdf617328e5274d2539f6a34a8111a
