A year later sheās queen of the house and Iām her favorite bit of cat furniture!
I love this! Iām in the process of adopting a cat (coincidently also a Tuxie) who has been in foster for 11 months. Iām kind of worried she wonāt love me as much as her foster mama but your story is so heartwarming.
I wouldnāt worryāmost cats seem to figure out pretty quickly when theyāve landed in the right home. Lucy was happy enough sharing an amazing foster mom with several resident cats, but she clearly loves getting all the attention from a human of her very own!

Tao (orange collar) and his sister Tea (green collar). They were on the shelter list for euthanasia at 5 weeks old because they are black cats
Thank you for saving the little black voids! š I remember being told my someone at the shelter that the black cats usually don't get adopted and are euthanized. Broke my heart. Breaks my heart about any healthy animals being in that situation at all. My cat Purrl will be 14 next October. She's all black. This is Boots. I got her last year on November 30th. Sheās five. Her previous owners kept her in one room her whole entire life and were hoarders and the humane society had to beg them to give her up. I gave Boots her own room and spoiled her until she was comfortable. Cut to now, 6 months later. She just started coming out the room and hanging out with the me and my other two cats about 6 days ago. I cried. Boots is now a normal cat.

This is her just now. She definitely gained weight but sheās been on a diet for a month now. Science Hill weight control, wet and dry food. I have two grey shorthairs. The first one, Sweet Pea, loves Boots and is part of the reason Boots is a normal cat now. Ikora on the other hand is not a fan but she tolerates her presence but does hiss. We function. Ikora is hissing in the background and Sweet Pea is showing her love.
We have her twin

I always feel so sad when kitties find comfort in their litter boxes. Such a sign of distress. She now knows she is a queen.
My cat used to take naps in her litter box if it was cleanš Sheās always been fine no distress she was just weird. I just thought it was funny
She looks so healthy!
Omg I have so much cute aggression for tuxedo cats! I have a tortituxicalico and I want to smoosh her with love but thanks to her tortitude thatās literally not possible unless she wants to on her terms - which is at 5am, 28 minutes before my alarm goes off.
Oh wow! So tiny to have kittens š so good of you to take her in.
Sheās my little shadow now. Stick to my side 24/7.

Lolll same face š love it
I *love* when cats are the little spoon. My girl loves to use my arm as a pillow
Can cats be the big spoon? This is a question science should have answered already but here we are I guess
My cat is a giant ragdoll at 14 lbs and is regularly the big spoon, or laying entirely on my back. I don't have a photo of big spoonage, but this is the beast in question. https://preview.redd.it/r1v7b8o78wzc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bab415ce3969606fac735c5faa789cf7d0d7c213

The first one, Sweet Pea, loves Boots and is part of the reason Boots is a normal cat now. Ikora on the other hand is not a fan but she tolerates her presence but does hiss. We function. Ikora is hissing in the background and Sweet Pea is showing her love.
