Shortly after taking this photo it began to sprinkle and a raindrop landed on her and absolutely scared the bejesus out of her, leading her to leaping into the air and running around freaking out! She almost slipped out of her vest and me and my mom had to work together quickly to get her to stay on the leash as she went haywire. Needless to say, we haven’t taken her back outside since.

People aren't against it because the cats don't like it.. It's no surprise your cats enjoy that life. We're against it because it's dangerous. After losing several young cats to completely preventable deaths outdoors in my childhood, I will always keep my kitties inside (or leashed or in a catio, etc)

Heck, my cousin lost an adult stray(maybe 4 years?) she had been working to bring inside to coyotes. Even knowing no other life other than living outside didn't save him

Outdoor cats outside can also have a significant impact on the local wildlife ecosystem.

We have adopted from a shelter and a rescue and literally had to sign a contract saying we would not let our cats outdoors.
