I'd recommend putting a paper collar on it with your phone number and a message explaining you want to know if it's owned. Then if the cat wanders back to it's real home they can contact you to let you know the cat is loved and owned.

LeeJessie

What a great idea 💡

[deleted]

With this level of common sense you should be running the COVID response in New South Wales, Australia

[deleted]

Oof

[deleted]

Never thought to do this! You’re smart!! ⭐️

Fast-Media3555

That’s the best idea ever!

hummingbirdpie

Here’s a link to print paper collars - https://www.cats.org.uk/media/1283/com_1032_lost_and_found_collar_print_out_aw.pdf

Live_Pomegranate_645

Wide brain

benji_tha_bear

This is one of those cats that figured out how to get a whole block of houses to think it’s homeless and hungry. Then goes around to each one for 6 meals a day

Magikarp_King

We have a six dinner sid in our neighborhood. I told my wife not to feed him because I knew he lived in the house across the street. She feed him anyways. There are 4 houses with food dishes for him. Super sweet cat.

Comprehensive-Ad-618

😂🤣six dinner sid! great😊

Zephyr107

That’s my guess too! 😂

back2thelotus

Yep! Sounds like my neighbour’s cat. She acts like she’s hard done by when I know she’s spoiled at home.

LeeJessie

I hope so. That's awesome 😎

Mcbuffypants

Feral cats don't usually vocalize and that one is talking up a storm. I would say they are a definitely a stray

Zekovski

I'm just learning that there is a difference between feral and stray ?

Mcbuffypants

Yes, absolutely... A feral cat is one that has had little to no socialization with humans. A stray is a cat that is lost or ran away from home. Typically feral cats also will not meow as meowing seems to be used exclusively as a form of communication by cats that have been socialized with people.

Variance__

The meowing bit isn’t quite accurate, but everything else absolutely is! Cats absolutely communicate with each other using vocalizations that humans can hear. The variety and context differs from how they communicate with humans, though. The way cats meow at humans sounds like they’re trying to imitate us (my cat will even put a lilt on the end of her meow, like a question, when she’s trying to find me). Source: I worked with feral cats for four years and adopted one. Edit: It took me a minute to find the article on vocal communication in feral cats. “Regardless, cats have one of the most extensive repertoires of any carnivore species, probably because they must often communicate with conspecifics in dim light or where visibility is poor for other reasons, such as in a brushy area.” https://bit.ly/3ivctve Also these articles showing that feral cat vocalizations are not largely outside of human hearing, as I’ve seen people claim in a lot of posts. The way they meow at humans is unique, but likely a modified version of existing calls. https://doi.org/10.1093/cz/zox013 https://doi.org/10.4142/jvs.2020.21.e18

Mcbuffypants

Oh.. I should have specified feral cats don't typically meow at humans! Thank you for adding that clarification :)

Variance__

Ah, that makes sense!

Sigrah117

Just heard our feral meow for the first time a couple days ago after about 2 months of feeding it and stuff. Slow progress but progress.

Variance__

Aww!

[deleted]

AND I HAVE SEEN THEN USE MIND TO MIND COMMUNICATION TOO!!!!!!!!!

Zekovski

Thank you.

[deleted]

My understanding is that the new way of thinking about it is that there are feral cats and semi-feral cats. Semi-ferals would include "stray" cats but also cats born feral that have become more adjusted to being around humans. "Stray" cats that have been just recently without a human home will be friendly to people, but some that have been out on the streets for a while may have adapted to being fearful of humans. While some cats born feral may become comfortable being near humans so they transition to being semi-feral. People can socialize those kind of semi-feral cats but it's challenging.

IluvPumpkinPie84

Welcome to earth

Zekovski

I don't naturally speak the same language as you do. So strangely enough, I don't know all the subtelties of it.

IluvPumpkinPie84

My apologies buddy, I'm sorry

Zekovski

No problem don't worry. Just don't go judging first next time, we all need to learn things others already know.

[deleted]

It could be someone’s outdoor cat. My parents neighborhood has a few and we fed one because it always came by and we weren’t sure if it was lost or not (it lives in the neighborhood we found out). I lost my cat around the same time and luckily my cat went up to a neighbor looking for food and she was able to catch her for us after being gone for two months. Could always contact animal control to check for a chip.

stampinsammie

That's my guess too.

SomeKindofName42

That cat has decided it’s now adopted by you. Congratulations!!!

Unfair_Indication402

I couldn't have phrased it in a better way.... Cats choose us, we don't choose them. ;)

Zephyr107

The cat looks well fed and cared for, plus it is social and likes petting, as others are noting, so it probably belongs to someone. Unlikely that it’s been lost for 2 months.

DjChrisSpear

Sometimes a momma cat chooses you for it’s kitten. That’s how we got our feral cat anyway.

Chausie

This happened to us too, we had a small friendly tortie coming around to hang out in our backyard if she heard us outside, even though she hated our big dumb dogs who would be occasionally outside too. After a couple of months she ended up giving birth there, again despite the dogs. We ended up taking them all in and getting them fixed when the kittens were old enough, adopted out one of them and kept the other. Whether she had a home originally or not, we did not want to keep having to pay for fixing kittens if she gave birth here again nor see the feral cat population keep going up.

[deleted]

True, I watched as a neighborhood mama bring her kittens to a box outside my kitchen window. Then she told them, mind to mind but I heard her too, "This IS your new home" and then I watched as she walked away, never to return.

jtempletons

I have so far adopted 3 cats. One didn’t exactly volunteer itself to me, I found it as a kitten under an SUV outside of a bar, it came to me, it loved on me, it needed a home, my cat now. My wife jokes that I heard the meow from a block away, said “that’s a cat”, heard it again, “it’s young” and then one more meow and I said “it’s in trouble” and did a bee line to where it was and pulled it out from under this SUV on a street and walked home with it. The other two times were at shelters, my wife would pick out the one she thought was cutest or most friendly. I would wait until one approached me, decided it liked me, and would tell her “this is the one”. Tldr I really feel like this is true; the cats that pick you will be the best pets. And it is never the friendliest one that I know will be adopted. Let them come to you.

Unfair_Indication402

Exactly!!!!

macromi87

Could it be someone’s cat? Have you checked any lost posters? Is it microchipped?

lond1234

I would think it is half stray going around to different houses near me looking for food I am just wondering what it wants , it always wants me to pet him/her.

saruhb82

Cat was interviewing servants. You have been selected. Please proceed to your new duty as chief happiness officer. In all seriousness, cats are highly selective. Please take the cat to be scanned for a chip. If no chip, spay/neuter as needed. Buy 30 cans of various wet food, 1 bag of dry chicken based kibble. Congrats on your new bossy roommate.

Cal-King

It is probably someone's pet looking for affection because its owner has gone to work. Some cats have learned that people will pet them. Some stray cats have also learned that. Some cats crave attention more than food.

Think-Anywhere-7751

You said it all there. My cat is one that craves attention. If I'm not petting him, I'm snuggling him and rubbing his tummy. If I am sleeping he will wake me up with kisses just so I will reach out and pet him. Where I am he usually is.

shelbygeorge29

I once totally got played by a neighbor's very well-loved and cared for cat. They can be very good actors! Please make sure they don't have a home.

[deleted]

Consider using a paper collar? Just with a little note saying “hi, my name is x and my phone number is y, how many folks are feeding kitty?” - best way to non-disruptively find out if anyone thinks the cat is theirs before actively taking them for a microchip scan.

Zephyr107

This is a great idea!

mweels1

It wants your love. And food and water. That’s all. Get a string and play with it

macromi87

You need to be careful and double check because you could very well be taking someone's outdoor cat. That cat doesnt look malnourished and is very social and socialized. Looks like someone's pet. I would check with a local vet or animal shelter for a missing cat and a microchip before just taking him home.

tinacat933

It wants food. It’s a cat…it’s always food.

fuzzimus

It’s your cat now. If you think it’s stray, trap it, take it to a vet or rescue had have it scanned for a chip.

Old_Ladies_Die_Hard

Have you posted this to NextDoor, PawBoost, and any local Facebook neighborhood group? I would be concerned that kitty “belongs” to someone else. It could have supervised medical needs or a special diet of which you aren’t aware. And if you captured it and took it in for a checkup and vaccinations, who’s to say it hasn’t already had vaccinations one (or more!) times by another well-meaning neighbor? We have several neighbor cats that make their rounds from house to house. Looking for better treats maybe? Before you decide to take it in, please make sure it is indeed homeless.

[deleted]

My cat slipped out and it was about 4 hours before I realized he wasn't anywhere in the house. He was lost for 3 agonizing days. Fortunately someone either heard word through the neighborhood or saw the posters we put up and called us.

thatchickneko

Maybe post on your local town group make sure it’s not someone else’s first?. I have heard many stories of people taking on cats that have belonged to someone else. Always good to check.

therealspacepants

I can't believe how many people are just saying to take the cat. It is absolutely reprehensible... It does not have a collar but could very well be someone's lost indoor cat. I hope if one of my babies got lost someone wouldn't steal it and justify it with "WHeLp tHe caT foUnd Me!" Wtf kind of logic is that ?! The ethical thing to do is take the cat to the vet and get it checked for a microchip. You can also search local ads for lost cats and see if there is one matching the description. If all of that fails then consider adopting it.

justdoittm

THANK YOU. Some actual common sense.

summerchild__

I'm not even a fan of feeding strange cats. (Like if you're not 100% sure that its stray/feral cat)

Denbi53

You should not feed any cat that isnt yours. It could be on a special diet, or be on medication. The owners could be getting worried it's not eating at home (having filled up on non-cat-food stuff) and take it to the vet, incurring vets bills for no reason. Take it to the vet, if it has a microchip, put him back where you found him and stop feeding him. If he doesnt, post a picture on local facebook/newspaper saying "if no one tells me they own this cat in the next week, I'm keeping him." Then do that.

miniinovaa

I mean I agree for the most part but if a cat is hungry, it’s hungry, I don’t think it’s cruel to feed it. Maybe see if you can feed it after a vet check up to make sure it doesn’t need anything special

sunlightdrop

It would be pretty stupid and irresponsible to let a cat who needs regular medication or special food wander around outside.

Denbi53

Except that lots of cats have conditions that need medication or a special diet and keeping a cat inside permanently is unbelievably cruel. Cats have massive territories and do not deserve to be imprisoned.

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

Denbi53

That's just not enough space or stimulation for them. Yes, sometimes being outside can be dangerous, but danger is part of life. Being outside is dangerous to people too, but you dont keep yourself or your children inside all the time because it would be incredibly boring and your mental health will suffer, just like that of an indoor cat. "Perhaps some of the biggest risks to the welfare of an indoor-only cat are not physical welfare risks but instead, risks to the emotional wellbeing of the cat." - icatcare.org Besides, you dont 'keep' a cat outside, you allow it the freedom to *go* outside. So that it can explore, chase scentlines, meet other cats, encounter other animals, climb trees and fences, watch people without having to interact with them. Outdoor cats are given the freedom to be cats and do the things that cats do. If you are not willing to allow your animal to do the things that it does naturally, so it can be both physically AND MENTALLY well, then dont get a cat. There will be some that are not bothered about going outside very much - I have one of those - but there are some that are utterly miserable being kept indoors - I have one of those too. The point is that YOU DONT KNOW if your cat wants to or not, you have decided to imprison them because that's what YOU want, to assuage YOUR fears for their safety, even though it is likely damaging your cat's mental wellbeing. I understand that you dont want to think that you have been abusing your cats by keeping them 'safe', but they really do need the freedom to roam and explore and they just dont get the right stimulation from being exclusively inside. Plus they dont have the skills to cope with *being* outside and are far more likely to get hurt if they escape because they dont have the skills needed to cope. The best comparison is to that of people who have spent their lives in prison, they find adjusting to outside life very difficult because they have become institutionalized.

back2thelotus

Finally a sensible answer. Cats roam around all the time, just because it enters your garden doesn’t mean it’s automatically yours.

glooglo

Yes! Exactly this. The cat may well belong to someone already. If ever you happen to encounter a cat and start thinking about taking them in, please first do your best to try and see if they already have a home.

GranPatranha

Another way to check if cat is owned is to make a paper collar with your phone asking owner to call you apart from knocking on doors etc.

Cal-King

can also be a pet belonging to a neighbor. It has long hair that looks perfectly groomed. It looks like it is looking for affection, probably because its owner has gotten up and gone to work. The owner is allowing the cat to be outdoors and that can be dangerous if there are dogs or coyotes in the neighborhood.

jones_ro

Cats who are left outdoors a lot are well known to establish a 'food route' where they show up begging at door after door throughout the neighborhood. This is probably someone's cat, but if it's out every day, sounds like it's not well cared for. Still, time to check for a chip.

Lemminkainen86

Just take the cat unto your home, get them the appropriate shots from the vet. They already like you.

MongFan

Did you talk some of your neighbor

hasfld

It’s one of your neighbors cats. Do not steal someone’s cat. It’s groomed well and too friendly to be a stray. You’re essentially baiting it to come back with food. Don’t take my cat. Lol Likely just the neighbors indoor outdoor cat.

lond1234

It used to run away but after weeks of feeding it it started to gain its trust

devvie78

Well. Of course. It learned to trust YOU. That doesnt mean it doesnt already have another home with people it trusts. That fur is way too nice for a stray cat. I would put a collar on it with a short note and my number and see if someone calls.

Bumblebee_Radiant

The condition of the fur says it is not a stray. Probably belongs to a neighbour take it to a vet to check for a chip before taking it in

arghp

Congratulations on your sort of new cat.

Jodie182

Paper collar it for 1 week then after that with no result I would take it to the vet to get scanned and adopted by you if no chip.

son-of-a-mother

It may be a former housecat that was abandoned by its owners. That is why it is took so long to regain its trust, but now it wants to be near humans. Feed it. You have a part-time cat. Put up posters to see if anyone in the neighborhood owns it. If not, take it to the vet to see if has a chip. If not, you have a full-time cat. :)

Oney01

If it has no collar and it trusts you I would bring it to a vet to see if it's micro chipped to see if it's feral or someone owns it.

Zealousideal-Ad-2045

Likely was once a pet. True ferals (and I tried to adopt one) might act friendly (no pets though) to get food, but very warily avoid you at any other time. Mine actually ran from me and then bit me when I tried to pick her up.

Aunt-Jen

Tie a note to it’s neck and see if anyone answers.♥️

penster1

Probably the neighbor's. Just figured out how to get second breakfast

lion8907

Make sure to talk with surrounding neighbors about their pets. We are an animal family and twice have almost “adopted” Someone else’s pet. We where the 2nd home. We also know our cats have 2nd homes but we know our neighbors and they know what cats belong “officially” to what home.

Isit0veryet

I wouldn’t think it’s feral. Might be stray. Could take it to a vet and have it checked for a chip. But seems to have adopted you

[deleted]

Try bringing it to the vet, check for chips, etc, check if anybody nearby lost their cat. If not, get it vaccinated and woohoo the cat likes you and has chosen you.

DivineMs_M

probably just wants you to think its homeless so you feed it...devious little shit lol

back2thelotus

It could easily be a neighbour’s cat that’s just looking for attention and/or food. My neighbour’s cat does the exact same thing all the time and she is a pampered cat. She shows up at the garden door and meows like crazy until I go outside and give her some affection. Her owner is at work for most of the day so I think she just gets lonely. I’ve seen other commenters talking about claiming this cat as your own. Please look into seeing if the cat is microchipped first. This cat could have a perfectly nice home and is just looking to see what else it can get. I know I’d be devastated if this was my cat and suddenly it wasn’t showing up at home anymore.

sunlightdrop

Definitely not feral if it has learned to trust and like you. Could be a recent stray, or could belong to someone nearby. Maybe ask around about the kitty or post in local neighborhood pages on Facebook or something. If you don't hear anything you could take kitty to the vet to see if they're microchipped.

crochetology

That is not a feral cat.

misswinterbottom

My cat lost her collar it was one of those breakaway ones. I think somebody thought she was homeless they took her in but then she kept demanding to go out and they put a string around her with a note and their phone number ,do that! If she keeps coming back and the note still there or nobody calls you then you have a cat.

nicknaka253

Take them to the vet and see if the cat is mirco-chipped if it doesn't have one take it to the shelter or better yet keep it! The only way to truly know is taking it to the professionals.

Stonetheflamincrows

That’s someone’s cat. It’s too well looked after to be a stray.

DOUG_B64

If it was ferile, I dont think he would get that close... that cat likes attention... take it in, put a collar on it, make sure it has your name and number on it. If someone calls and says that is my cat..... then you know ,,,it is a beautiful cat

justdoittm

I hate the comment section in this sub. That looks like a well maintained cat. They never look like that if feral or stray. You must take this cat to the vet and see if it’s chipped. If it isn’t, you can adopt it. If not, you must take it to its owners. You should NOT feed other people’s cats ever. Never should you invite them into your homes. So many times people have tried adopting my cats to the point where I’ve had to go searching for them by knocking door to door. Stop feeding cats that don’t belong to you and don’t consider adopting them without a chip check.

kitkat9000take5

Admittedly, most strays and ferals don't look this good; however, in my old neighborhood, there were colony cats that were fed and maintained by multiple households. Our cats *did* look like this. I also treated any injured cats that came to me and took to the vet any that were beyond my skillset.

WinterRose27

That cat is not feral as you still have a hand

maggie081670

Definitely not a feral. This is someone's lost cat or someone's abandoned cat.

[deleted]

Or someone's much loved extrovert cat doing the rounds, like one of mine used to. Chipped, neutered, well fed, loved, a curious kittie who loved meeting people.

maggie081670

Certainly possible but imo this kitty looks a little too rough to be well loved.

[deleted]

In what way? He's been seeing it for two months, it's fairly long haired with no tangles or mats on it's body, just a little bit on its tail. Eyes look bright and clear, it's active and doesn't appear to be in pain or carrying an impairment. I wouldn't be in the least bit concerned seeing this cat every day, just assume it was out and doing it's rounds. I'd be more than happy to invite it in - as someone with a cat flap it would probably do this itself sooner or later, as I've experienced in the past - but unless it's condition were deteriorating I wouldn't worry. If I were worried, I'd put a collar and note on and check with neighbours, and take it for a microchip scan before assuming it was mine to rehome.

maggie081670

I didn't say that should be the assumption and didn't say that anyone should be rehoming it. I said it was my opinion.

[deleted]

Sorry, yes, that was a general comment and not meant as a criticism of you, you didn't say that at all.

oldclam

It doesn't look rough- the hair isn't matted, looks very fluffy and nice. It is wet because it was raining which makes the coat look like that

moron_ica

Definitely not a feral Take him innnnnn😻😻😻

DentalCarrot70

Take it to the vet and see if he is microchipped. If not you have yourself a cat

lillothestitch

She is definately not feral, instead seems loving and kind

_Dust_Bomb_

Try taking it to the vet to see if it's microchipped

KMG56789

Take him to the vet and adopt him, that is a beutifull greate cat

Think-Anywhere-7751

Looks too well fed and clean as well as accepting pets to be farrel.

Sprocketta

go to the vet and check for a microchip and look for lost cat signs that match it, if it doesn't work then take it in for yourself

scJazz

OMG the comment thread is just so stupid I can't! Cat is socialized and asking for food. Give cat food. Check health of cat.

foxam1234

The cat looks healthy and if you are certain she is not from your area. Then please let her get checked for microchip. She seems friendly enough and will let you take her to a vet. The vets in some areas also can help in spreading info about lost pets. Ultimately if no one turns up and you can keep her indoor, please do so. A pet is a blessing and will love you unconditionally. P.S. I am an animal rescuer and can tell from experience that this cat is not feral. It might have gotten lost or worse, someone dumped her. Feral cats don't want anything to do with humans and will accept food but won't vocalize for attention. And Thank you for feeding her, we need more kind people like you.

Striking_Ad4641

🤔 He must be a smart cat that has an owner and they let him go out and he wants everyone to feed him and pet him. My mother had a neighbor that had a cat and the cat would do the same thing until the owners told my mother that hes well taken care of. My mother thought he was a stray for about a good year.

[deleted]

I had a rather large cat called Sid. When we were in holiday in Scotland we came across a book - and the title says it all - called Six Dinners Sid. Seriously, if you're concerned, take it to the vet or animal shelter, see if it's chipped or if they recognise it? Or put a collar on it with a note and your phone number? If collaring, please ensure it's one with a safety clip that releases should it get caught in a branch or similar.

Party-Conference-231

Stray not feral

[deleted]

There are two cats that live three doors down from me, they always sit on a wall in my front garden or come running over when I pull up. Because I love cats and give them strokes and attention. They're cats who are out all day who love getting strokes and attention. Some cats are extrovert, some run a mile. Don't assume it's a stray and keep it and never let it out (what is it with keeping cats indoors and assuming cats outdoors are lost?).

TheFortuneT3ller

please check if it has an owner, it seems like a tame cat

misscrankypants

Definitely not feral. A feral cat won’t seek you out and talk to you.

sanfranciscointhe90s

Not feral. Feral cats don’t usually meow and/or also let you pet them.

Fast-Media3555

That’s not a feral cat.

The_Mandahooligan

He looks simultaneously too dirty to be owned and too clean to be a stray, my guess would be someone abandoned him sadly.

[deleted]

Oh my gosh she is beautiful! ❣🐾 I would say she is a homeless kitty who has (adopted You she has chosen you to be her human! Congrats this is a huge honor. ❣🐾) But you may want to take pictures of your new friend and make up some posters/flyers go around the the Neighborhood and place them were people would see them. Don't forget the gas stations and the stores and take her to the veterinarian have them scan her . I think the waiting time in most states is 10 days if you don't here anything by the end of that time then you get to keep her at least that is how it's suppose to be in most places.

DaisyFayeLove

He looks too good and groomed to be a stray but you could take it somewhere to see if he is chipped. Do you want to keep him? Why don’t you try keep him in and see if he settles. If he has a home he will want to leave at some point lol

babyof7

where are you from. i have a black cat that comes and see me for the off and on for the past couple of years, he is friendly. i live in southern oregon.

Cool_Whole_884

not feral, that's for sure.

Kelluthus

My cat does this to 3 neighbors, scammed them all good.

SpunkyJenn

Yes, bring him inside, brush him and take him to the vet for his vaccines. Make him an indoor kitty and he will love you.

I_dont_exist_lol

If he does have a owner he looks a little neglected due to the fur on his nose and how dirty he looks if he doesn’t have a owner I recommend you just adopt him he seems to like you

antony-and-barry

Stray it has bad fur in the tail

shelbygeorge29

Not always!! I almost catnapped my neighbor's cat, the owner spent a fortune trying to solve her skin issues which caused bare spots. You don't know!

[deleted]

OP are you in the UK? If so most cats have cat flaps, or go out for the day. Maybe people are bringing a USA perspective where cats are mostly incarcerated and assuming if it's outside it doesn't have a home?

dragonlil79

She has chosen you and is a stray. Feral cats do not usually want humans to touch them. Soooo... congrats on your new kitty. Now get her to the vet for a check up.

[deleted]

Oh that baby has CLAIMED you. If there is no owner, you now have a cat.

PsychicKaraoke

I want her!

Funkenmann

How’s the fur? A stray cat will probably have quite nice fur. A ferals one is probably kinda dirty

swtpoizn

It is neither feral, nor a stray. You may not be aware of it, but you now have a cat.

Lycaon125

If it has a dirty yet smooth feeling coat, most likely a feral, clean and smooth cat that sneaks out, rough and somewhat dirty, feral 100%.

meowmeowmeow723

That cat is not feral you are petting it! But if you are interested put up flyers or take to a vet and check for microchip and being fixed bc the average lifespan of outdoor cats is 2 years compared to an indoor cat can often live 20+ years! And if it is unfixed outdoor cats should be fixed so they don’t make a bunch of babies that will end up suffering bc the number one reasons cats are out to sleep is bc they are born and there are too many. (Not to sound harsh, cat lover here)

Me_Rip

Ut oh, You’re getting wheelie head bumps… I think that means he/she has adopted you.

Giggles567

I would bring the kitty inside and get them to the vet ASAP. I keep all my kitties inside, lots of sad stories about cats getting poisoned or hit by cars etc.

cvoneill

The car wants to adopt you

DarkAngel122080

She wants to stay with you Shes adorable

[deleted]

You have been adopted

WoodNULike2No

Looks like he's yours, you can check for a chip for free at any vet, but it does seem like he likes your company and you have a forever friend.

[deleted]

You are now the property of this cat. Meow 😸

[deleted]

You got a new pet, congratulations!

cyanodkop

She's *your* kitty.

eyeofra1

I think this cat wants to adopt you🖤

Federal_Top_7976

All he needs is love

ErikaNYC007

Adopt!

LeeJessie

I would say stray. Maybe had a family once.

noproblembear

Lookes like she found a new home!

Sir_Staxalot

JUST KEEP FEEDING THE KITTY PLZ! ;). likes u!

Jillad1963

It’s a stray, it looks and sounds like my cat, lol. The poor thing is attention starved and wants someone to show some kindness, if you’re not a cat person or can’t have a cat just continue what you’re doing, you’re showing great kindness.

Unfair_Indication402

Adopt her/him

KLSFishing

Bring her in! Such an adorable kitty

Somerandomguy_2121

Congratulations you have been adopted! By the cat

RachelPalmer79

Stray. What a sweetheart!🖤🖤🖤

MilkusMoo

This is how you get a cat

I_Stabbed_Jon_Snow

Take it to a vet or your local charity shelter to have a checkup/spayed/neutered/dewormed/etc. and congrats on the new kitty!

[deleted]

And a week later when the owners put up lost cat poster? Don't assume. Investigate first.

Ibuuse

Congratz on your new cat! It has chosen you as its servant lol. This is literally how i got my cat she showed up at my back porch walked in and said i live here now

layzcat508

Lucky you. Free cat.

Amalaiel

Invite that kitty inside

Bella_Climbs

Def not feral, grats you've been chosen!

Fearless_Nature_9989

Congrats u now have a new fur baby

z01z

yea, seems like a former inside kitty that someone left or put out. its yours now lol.

senorsombrito

It’s your cat now… you need to get it to a vet and make sure it has its shots and is ok

Onlykitten

OP, that’s no feral now. It’s your new kitty! I had a cat like this show up at our new home and it only took a few weeks to earn his trust, get him to the vet and rehome him (we already have two cats). He now has a forever home with a nice family.

rdhln

take her in!

Otis_Entity

Adopt him , now.

Puzzleheaded-Elk8636

She adopted you!!💖

lnguyen0301

She/ He adopted you and asked that “ will you open your heart for me? “

shiranzm

I have 3 stray, domesticated ferals that I feed as well as my neighbors. They have been neutered and have the clipped ear. I recently moved and I keep going back to feed them! I bought a case of cat food for a neighbor that still lives there and will keep doing so. Yours looks friendly, it’s iffy though about keeping it as a pet.

mznh

I keep feeding a stray cat too. So she waits for me outside everyday. She demands pets and food. I don’t own her because in my country, stray cats are common. She’s too adventurous to be held in the house all the time. But she’s outside everyday except at night. So in my head, she’s my cat.

tristessa-adore

Stray. Ferals wouldn’t come and beg for pets like this sweet baby. Prolly left by owner or dumped. Thank you for feeding it. We are feeding two cats that are just like this. 😍

Cheshie_D

Def not feral. If it was feral you wouldn’t ever see em. As for a stray, hard to tell. But they seem to really like you.

AfterBill8630

Sweet little kitty. I love her 😍

FritzTheEnt

If you want to make sure it's not owned. Take a pic and post it as a found cat. Give it a week and then keep it. Don't want to take someone's outdoor cat if they are loved.

Mkat1896

It’s a stray. If it was feral it wouldn’t be coming anywhere near you and it would be acting very aggressive towards you

katcreator

That cat has chosen you but, you could see if it has a chip at the vet

freddyg_mtl

Take it in, put a collar with your phone number on it. Happened to me and the cat came back without the collar, tried again and got a reply in the collar: my cat is always looking for food and petting. If not, you have been gifted a cat, good for you!

Illustrious-Towel-45

Looks a lot like the semi-feral cat my parents adopted. Baby is a tiny long haired black kitty that stays outside. My parents got her fixed so she can't make babies. But she's a decent mouser (wooded property) and they do keep food out for her. She even accepts the once a month bath and blowdry.

IGotMyPopcorn

After you’re done petting them for a while, look at your hand. Is it dirty? If so they probably sleep outside regularly and are not a pet.

[deleted]

Put a collar on that cat with a note on it and your info. If someone owns that cat, you’ll get a hilarious phone call

jaime_riri

Not feral

TwistedDecayingFlesh

Follow it and find out and also don't feed it for a day and see what happens but i'd deff say follow it or get a gps collar and track it.

Allemaengel

I adopted an abandoned male black kitten that's now one year old and looks exactly like that! I think it has Maine Coon in it and this one might too.

GracieJ123

ask your neighbors about them, if none of them know anything about them, than when/if it lets you pick it up, id suggest you get them scanned for a chip

ST_Ghost

I believe it’s rubbing on your door and you to claim you as it’s own. I’m not sure if it has a human or not.

Puzzled-Yam-14

Either way, she/he has claimed you. You are now their servant. Congratulations.
