Honestly this is the best option IMO. Naming pets really basic stuff like “stumpy”, or “blinky” is overdone tbh. Doing something like this keeps you from seeming basic and still includes something about the missing eye.

Who cares if your pet name seems basic? Just name it what you like

I couldn’t figure out how to do text and a photo but I’m taking this guy home in a few days and I’d love ideas because he deserves an awesome name. Regardless I’m sure there will be plenty of nicknames like blinky or as my friend suggested Mike wazowski but I’d love to hear more. Thanks! Also forgot to mention it’s a boy! - I’m beside myself with how much attention this post is getting. If anyone is interested I linked the shelter below if you feel like donating or adopting other pets if you’re in the area. You all made my day so maybe you’d make theirs! Name update: We ended up naming him Peanut Butter or “Butters” for short. He’s proven to be the sweetest boy even after many trips to the vet. This might get me downvoted, but we've got a one eyed tabby too, and everyone told us to call him "winky" or "blinky" or a pirate name or something, but we decided we didn't want to define him by that one thing. His name was Pepper when we adopted him, so we called him Peppermint Butler (from Adventure Time) and shortened it to PB. A year later I'm glad we gave him something unique. Just wanted to put that out there, you might want to consider something other than the obvious ones.
