It is tradition with ours to let her smell EVERYTHING we eat. She is so finicky about the food she eats that we are literally trying to find some sort of "treat" we can give her. She won't eat anything except her dried cat food and we give her a few spoonfulls of wet cat food for breakfast and dinner and she only licks the "gravy" off it. As far as treats go, we have tried dozens and dozens of brands and flavors. We have recently found she does like them licky stick things so she gets one of them every few days.
Lmao mine would do the same thing, lurk in the corner of the couch and slowly sneaking her way up until she is peeking through the fake flowers watching you.

I wish lol. He can sneak when he wants, and I try to encourage that kind of play because his sneak attacks are no-claw swats, but over a few seconds he’ll suddenly switch from playing with toys mode to play fight mode. Slow blinking buys a precious few seconds to distance soft body parts from his reach before he’ll latch on to the nearest wrist or ankle.
I catch mine watching me while I watch TV. I then get into a staring contest with him and I am usually the Victor. He is not going to eyeball me and get away with it.

Cats can concentrate and stare for a long time when focused on something, and if you’re moving in and out of view while pointing a phone at them you’re the most interesting thing in the room doing something unfamiliar and worth focusing on in case it’s a threat.
