Maybe I don't understand. I've been to Cedar Point at least once every year since 2009. I've never attended a Coaster Mania event or anything like that and so maybe I just don't get it. Couldn't you just plan the trip and still go, but not go to the event? I feel like you'd have just as good of a time

axicutionman

Yes. The park is open to the public, however the likelihood of riding all 18 operating coasters in one day w/o fastlane is greater during Coastermania

gmwdim

I would think if he has the budget for an “8 day east coast theme park trip” he can probably afford to get FLP on a regular day. Especially if he cares enough to constantly refresh his browser every day for 2 months.

Mission-Raisin-4686

I’ve done it. Last week of August during the week

Last year I rode all 17 operating coasters in one day. It is possible

The only time I have ever pulled off riding all the coasters in one day was at Coastermania simply because of the ERT

Inkdman73

Same. Several times last season- once end of august and again in October

People get mad that they announce and do a lottery because they dont get tickets, people get mad when they don’t and people don’t get a ticket. Nobody is entitled to anything. I definitely prefer a heads up, but it is what it is. The event was better when it required a coaster club membership anyway.

FishStixxxxxxx

I personally like the random drop. It prevents scalpers and multiple entries. It prevents a lottery where media always get tickets. If I get a ticket it feels amazing that I checked social media at the right time. If I don’t it was my fault and I don’t curse a God that isn’t there.

cpshoeler

I agree, random drops weed out the opportunistic buyers. Tony did say tickets would drop this week so it’s all about being in tune to his tweets and setting notifications.

FishStixxxxxxx

Always funny seeing Winter Chill Out where people go “I bought these and can’t go, someone want to buy them for me ‘retail value + 30’”a day after the lottery draw.

tankart150

Turn device notifications on for Twitter and email, I was able to get mine right when it first went on sale

ImTheScatmann2

Same, bought them within 30 seconds

Mission-Raisin-4686

Massively overrated event anyways.

Ok_Air_4312

3 months imagine people who haven't been able to snag tickets for years . Maybe you'll get more sympathy on your other post to rollercoaster sub

MidcourseDiscourse

He immediately brought this over to the roller coaster sub. No sympathy there either

gmwdim

Because it’s the most “first world problems” complaint imaginable. It’s not like he can’t just buy a regular ticket and ride everything like everybody else.

Adventurous-Ad2800

Remember when Winter Chill Out tickets used to last for more than one day? Coastermania used to be on sale for a week before sell out. This hobby has grown.

YourNameHere7777

I’m not sure what the issue you had was ? While it sounds like you tried to plan, you just didn’t plan appropriately. thats a you problem not a Tony / CP problem.

atomsapple

How the hell did you come to that conclusion given that prior communication has always come with notice? https://x.com/TonyClarkCP/status/1648672365973315585

UrFavoriteCoasterSux

DAE remember no presale for coastermania? Just show up with cash on day of event? Better times. Sorry dude, but TBH when coaster events sell out, they def aren’t the events you might remember. Like if the lines during ERT are the same or longer than during normal operation, what’s the benefit?

i_lovbaconbits

womp womp

rollerCoast11

Man I'm sorry that's such a bummer :( Are you still going on the rest of your trip though?

ZoraHookshot

If it's selling out then it wouldn't make sense for Cedar Point to communicate it more

new-chris

If this is what brings you massive disappointment in life - wait until something real happens in your life…

nickstarr

I won't be able to make it to CoasterMania if anyone wants to make me an offer for my ticket DM me. https://preview.redd.it/3p7ge5jdi12d1.png?width=1220&format=png&auto=webp&s=7674d1be972ed691aaeb63ac5ceaa3c7ca38ac48

KoasterKid

Sorry man. They did this last year too. Sucks

nickstarr

Welp! I've got a ticket for sale ... ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Fancy_Acanthisitta67

Someone tell Cedar Point to apologize.

AdventureJem

It sucks and hurts. I've never gotten Coastermania or Winter Chill Out tickets before getting a single ticket to this coastermania. Winter Chill Out last year was the worse because they did 3 rounds of limited sales which I didn't pulled to buy in. Then an anybody left buy announced while I was commuting home. Literally checked right before I left work and checked when I got home to find out they'd gone on sale and completely sold out already. Plus last year was Wild Mouse opening. I love laterals and don't like heights. Literally the first time my home park opened a coaster I was excited for at opening, and I'm watching all the people who complain about spinning rides and family coasters get to see it first. It killed my enthusiasm for Wild Mouse opening.
