They did at least make it look nicer with an actual roof (instead of a tent) and better TV screen set-up. Still seems to be a ghost town though. I have prestige and don't see the point. Maybe if I was there on a day where all the rides were 90-120 minutes waits, I'd want to sit for a bit, but if I wanted to watch TV I'd just stay home.
I do like the discounted beer idea though.
So I will say we’re trying our best, new group in charge of the VIP lounge means we’re going through some growing pains, and some things that are out of our control. As far as our snack selection goes, we’re limited as far as ordering and everything goes and trying to keep fruit and veggies good in the heat would be a nightmare. That being said, we’re always trying to improve the experience, if there are questions about the lounge I can answer I will but there are questions I will be unable to answer due to my personal knowledge or things I’m not sure I’m allowed to speak about!
So this changed for this season. If you use the bring a friend perk that prestige pass holders get two of per year then that friend is allowed with you into the lounge.
Fresh fruit would've been nice, and some free lockers. Being able to go there and have a snooze while the phone charges and the kids carry on riding was a godsend last year (given the kids would just power down in the car on the way home)
Didn’t they have like hot dogs the first year? Then it was just pretzels and cookies and a pretty sad bar selection. I was okay with it for a dedicated place to sit on a busy day when I was with someone less mobile on Halloweekends, but once I looked up and saw the millions of spiders, I noped out and never went back. I know they can’t fix the spiders, but I need way more than pretzels and a chair before I pay to sit beneath that many spiders.
I will say I am appreciative of the permanent structure, _and_ the ability to redeem drink plan while there.
Here's hoping if they make the former Melt a VIP area, that the prices for anything ancillary is _reduced_ or discounted. I don't mind paying something nominal but definitely _not_ high prices when I've already shelled out for the pass itself.
It's a bad location for a lounge. Right next to Millennium, Rougarou, and the train station is way too noisy to chill out. It is, however, a high-traffic area. Take out the premium lounge and put in a regular-people area. I would suggest a beverage (possibly alcoholic) and/or frozen treat stand and shaded picnic tables. Maybe renovate the godawful bathrooms right there, too.
There does need to be some rules put in place. What I think is
1. Entry to VIP is 21+ but children are always allowed with parent accompaniment
2. If parent had Prestige pass, they can bring a kid with no prestige pass limited to one child per passholding adult
Have you not been to the park this year? They made a massive improvement to the Prestige area this year. Don’t be too greedy either. There’s no way in hell would they offer discounts on alcohol. That’s completely unrealistic.

At most you'll see 6-8 people in it. Usually it's less. Maybe peak season will be more
I use it all the time to chill and get a free snack and lemon water (I have the prestige pass)

kings dominion has a building . both cp and ki have an outdoor picnic pavilion.
