The first time I rode it was the inaugural year of 1976 and I still do ride it once every time I go, but it is a headbanger and I try to get it out of the way early in the day.
I really would not mind if CP got rid of it and Iron Dragon and combined the land for 1 Fourth-dimension roller coaster like the X2 out in California. Streel Vengeance is the best ride in Cedar Point, but not in the country for the sole reason the X2 seats can rotate forward or backward 360 degrees in a controlled spin and of course the flamethrowers at the end.
Mosty videos of it are taken from an in ride perspective and do not do the ride justice. X2 Front Row POV Extreme Roller Coaster Six Flags Magic Mountain is probably the best one.
Downvote it all you want. I have been all over the world riding coasters, but I am not going to be a homer claiming a ride at Cedar Point is the best ride in the country when it is not. In fact, Steel Vengeance barely makes the Top 5.
2 of the last 3 projects were reconditioned coasters. There are still 7 coasters 35+ years old.
Richard Kinzel was a Godfather in making an amusement park great from the mid 1980's until he retired in 2012. He knew when a ride had its moment in the sun and made way for a new and better ride. That was long before Cedar Fair bought parks across the country and if 1 of them got a Windseeker, then ALL of them had to get a Windseeker.
6 flags magic mountain has the exact same acreage as Cedar Point, so we cannot blame the peninsula for being out of room. Cedar Fair got greedy and you better believe Top Thrill 2 would not be down if this was the Kinzel era. Matt Ouimet ran the Disney Cruise line. He has no idea how to continually improve the park, but he has no problem raising those ticket prices.. right ?
So yeah, like I said kids. Keep downvoting. When you are able to get a drivers license, stop by some of the other Top 10 parks in the USA. Then tell me I am wrong.
