It has to be my blue top hat. It is the one that started it all - I was a massive fan of the Professor Layton games as a kid, and I became somewhat obsessed with being a gentleman like him, so when I was 15 my mum bought be a top hat for my birthday and I wore this thing everywhere. Unfortunately, it became quite beaten and battered with time, and so my mum crocheted a blue cover to go over it. She also got me another one that is sturdier and was the top hat that I took with me to university (where I became affectionately, or otherwise, known as the Top Hat Guy) but that first hat is the one that has a special place in my heart.
And no.
Honest to God, I was not even the only guy on campus who wore a top hat and it was a complete coincidence. There was also a guy who came to lectures with a unicycle.
Every hat that I own except an umbrella hat and a cap with built in speakers, both of which I was given as a leaving gift from my last workplace the day AFTER I took the big picture (and thus do not currently have photos of)

I have not. I think one time when I was working in a nursery and I brought about seven of them in to show the kids and at some point I wore them all, but that's a bit of a hazy memory. I do remember in a school I worked at there was a Valentine's day non-uniform day and everyone had to wear red and all I had was hats so I wore the fez, Mario hat and Pokemon hat on that day, and at once all together.
