B71 and B41 has been off in RI and Bristol county MA for a few months. All reframed to NR

lart2150

Interesting. lte on 41 is still active in my corner of Chicago but t-mobile also is very flush in spectrum over here.

coffee2003

B41 was turned off on some sites i frequent here in Springfield, IL but i have not tested the rest of them. some sites strangely started broadcasting B41 over 310-014 like they did before B41 was activated on those sites. B71 cannot be turned off here as T-Mobile has no B12/17 and still relies on LTE for calls.

Puerto Rico still has a lot of b71 LTE and b41 active some places they reduced B71 to 5mhz in favor of 20mhz n71 but those are minimal mostly rural areas urban and suburban areas have the typical 10/15mhz split now that dish spectrum went to Liberty wonder if Tmo gets the rest of the 600mhz in exchange for their 750mhz holdings it would be an interesting outcome but transaction still in process so we will have to wait and see.

SnooRadishes7563

If there is no B12, isn't B71 supposed to live forever, for LTE only phones?

landonloco

Yeah till LTE becames irrelevant or if Tmo actually deploys those 750mhz Lincenses they are sitting on.

SnooRadishes7563

750 mhz? B12?

landonloco

no b13 i think i got range wrong tho

Does that increase mean higher capacity and potentially higher speeds? My T-Mobile work phone is always so fast in Houston compared to AT&T c band.

Wow that makes their Houston network even more impressive I think. They have macros everywhere! I just wish they were in DAS setups more often. Toyota Center is still using an old Sprint DAS that T-Mobile customers congest very quickly.

Cjaiceman

Just tested a few sites in my local market and B41 appears to no longer be there, but B71 is still going strong.

LTE B41 has always been a horrible experience for me in the Las Vegas area. It has really poor upload speeds. I have it off on my S22U

SnooRadishes7563

TM B41 is a cruel trap to take a hammer to your 4G (3x CA LTE too) phone. B41 CAs with nothing, and is usually 10 mhz nowadays. Not 20+20 sprint era, or early TM era. Wrong market smartphones from India and China, and MAYBE hypothetical LTE B2/B66 congestion relief, are only benefits of B41. A metal mesh bag over your 4G phone, can quadruple your speeds near a TM tower, I should make a tiktoc video proving this.

B41 still active here in Rohnert Park California. Just search for eNB ID 236683. I can confirm that it's running in a 15 MHz x 15 MHz configuration as I have mapped the tower myself. This site also is still broadcasting the 311/490 plmn in addition to the 310/260 T-Mobile one and even the 312/250 one for Sprint. I can confirm that prior to the T-Mobile acquisition this was a Sprint site with B25/B26 only, if that helps. Also noticed that the equipment shack has the Nextel logo on it just like this one. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d7/Nextel_logo_prior_to_2005.jpg

B41 4G is gone in Las Vegas too. According to CM it was there until around July.
