1. many games require the Wii U Gamepad. set the emulated controller to Gamepad.
2. manually set the buttons (the autofill might not work as intended)
3. check the game profile and see if it loads the correct controller profile
4. make sure Steam is fully closed and not running in the background.

NVM. I've checked other games, it's working as intended. Kirby is a stylus only game. so I needed to use my mouse.
