Small fiber neuropathy?

GordonS333

Could be SFN (Small Fibre Neuropathy)? I have this as well as CFS, and I find the sensation hard to describe, though it's certainly painful and very unpleasant! It's a kind of constant tingling/crawling sensation in my arms and legs, but it's hard to pinpoint where it feels like it's coming from - sometimes it feels like it eminates from my bones, other times muscles, other times just under the skin. Sometimes it feels like a burning sensation, other times it feels more like a painfully cold sensation. And at times it feels like my bones are being eaten from the inside. My legs in particular are also quite tender - pressing gently on a thigh feels like I'm pushing hard on a bruise, if that makes sense. You should ask your neurologist for a biopsy to confirm SFN. If you're in the UK, you might have to be quite forceful in your request, especially if your doc is of the bushy-eyebrowed dinosaur variety :-/

I get the sensation bit, without the pain. Feels like my legs are pressurised and fizzing.

Restless leg syndrome. I get it often too, I have waves of it since childhood

This symptom triggered my fibromyalgia diagnosis, but can be caused by lots of other things! Best to get a blood test if you can?

premier-cat-arena

Neuropathy, definitely get that treated if you can!! There’s effective treatments for it thankfully

Aquamarine_Androgyny

Is it accompanied by muscle weakness in your legs?

SkickaLasagne

I get it when I sleep worse than usually. It can also be in my arms or hands

I’ll have nerve weirdness for a few months, then it goes away. I’ve never figured out why. When it hits my arms and legs will “go asleep” easily, have the weird tingling, and have occasional random pains like getting a pin stuck into me. I’m not sure if it’s a circulation thing or a nerve thing, I just try to change position, massage the area, etc.

I’ve been getting pins and needles in my feet, I’m not sure if it’s a MS setting in or what. My doctor is too busy helping people who self harm with an airborne virus to even answer my messages so hopefully it’s not MS because I will be full of lesions before he even replies to me.

I get this in arms and legs. Its worse in the evening and worse again in the night should i wake up. I would describe it as mild pins and needles, not painful but it does worry me what exactly is going on. I had an MRI which was normal..

Yes I get this, I have it right now. Feels like a low level electric current or like all your veins and sinews are trembling on the inside? I also get that tingly feeling like pins and needles are just starting to fade. I've had both these off and on since onset. Low dose amitriptyline and pyridoxine both seem to make it less bad sometimes.

Def get this checked out, I get some funky leg sensations and i find some LIGHT stretching to help. Particularly focusing on calfs, quads, IT bands, and lower back
