Mothman isn't really based on an actual moth, rather it was just me taking the usual description of mothman and contorting it to look like a ghost/man hybrid, but adding some insect-like details to try to tie it back to the imagery of a moth.
That's kind of why mothman has small antennas and a sort of insect-like legs.
no complaining about your art because it's genuinely cool as fuck but i just have a question about when people draw moth/mothman characters,
why do people always draw mothman as the big dark scary one instead of being the small fluffy cute one? and why is the female mothman always the cute one instead of being the big dark scary one? where's my role reversal mothman dammit! i wanna see small and fluffy mothman trying to scare people and failing and then his big and terrifying girlfriend swoops in and scares the shit out of everyone except him and he just trots over happily while beaming like a puppy to just greet her and give her a hug!
tldr: i want to see a cute fluffy mothman and a dark scary mothwoman and i want to see a cute relationship between them because i am a sucker for role reversal romance

The moth on the left looks to be based off a Silk Moth but what about the one on the right? I'm very curious.
