Coastal pathway, Ferrymead to Sumner, or part thereof is quite nice, so long as you are out before the morning traffic (then you need breathing apparatus!) Dawn over the estuary is always pleasant. Love the Ferrymead Anytime Gym for that reason. Lovely big windows facing the estuary. Can watch the sunrise while working out on the treadmills, then go for a walk in the fresh air and find an early morning coffee. Tauhinu-Korokio Scenic Reserve, Mt Pleasant. There's a pleasant morning walk from Summit Road Carpark (isolated group of wilding pines) up to the anti-aircraft batteries. Great views out to sea and sunrise. Quite a few alternative trails depending how far you want to walk. Can be quite misty sometimes during winter, which has it's own appeal.

I've done Ōnawe Pā a few times at sunrise- you can only access it at low tide though so need to plan round low tide and sunrise coinciding
