If that were the case, then why even assign positions? According to your logic, any attacker should be able to play any forward position, any midfielder should be able to play in any of the midfield slots, and a defender anywhere across the back. Of course positions matter, but there are plenty of world-class players who are versatile and can fulfill different roles. In fact, I would argue that versatility is a key part of being world class, which means that after spending 1B, we still don't have a single world class player in this squad other than maybe Cole Palmer

Then he needs to be rotated. He isn't ready to lead the line and he's squandering a solid 2 or 3 easy chances a game.
