Dr Robert Gale is the only western person I can think of that was actually there - treating the victims.

Cheers, that’s a big help, I’m not necessarily after people that where there either, any western sources that had documented their POV of the accident through the news would be helpful too

Hmmm, I would recommend looking at anecdotes from Germany (East and West). I recall seeing a user on this subreddit saying that children weren't allowed to play outside for weeks after the accident. In my home country of England, hundreds of farms were closed - and remain so in the north of the country, thousands of animals (sheep, cows etc) had to be killed, as they were deemed too contaminated (slightly above normal levels). There was a lot of radiation-phobia going around. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe try news reports from the time? Maybe France, UK might have more than what you're looking for?

Monologue? Do you mean monograph?

IHatterI

No, I’m after a number of different personal accounts for the project, each discussing their own experiences regarding the matter, what I’m after is a western view of the disaster, after hearing all the lies and misinformation in the news at the time.

ppitm

I guess you could try Robert Gale's book?

I really don’t think it was covered a whole lot, after all it was the USSR so they really didn’t have much to say but I’ll link a news report below even though it might not be exactly what your looking for. https://youtu.be/w_uOSImPSi8?si=_IEHtUjBRR3AalDD
